We have owned this home for 7 years and have restored it bit by bit. This apartment features a large sunny eat-in-kitchen with a sitting area/futon for extra guests. The windows provide a view of the backyard and fill the room with light. The view in the fall when the oak tree turns yellow is amazing! It's like living in a golden cloud! The bedroom has a 13ft ceiling and large windows at the head of the queen size bed, which evokes a loft feeling. We also have a small love seat, TV for a bluray player in the bedroom so you can watch movies if you like. In the warmer months there is a side balcony that's perfect for drinking your morning coffee!
Guests will enter the house through the very heavy iron doors original to the house. You will pass through the foyer with an original mural (hopefully to be restored one day!) and up the main staircase to the door at the top marked apartment 2
We are a family of 6 living on the first floor. We will normally be at home to meet you and will definitely be here to answer any questions or point you in the direction of a good beer downtown. We are from an Amish/Mennonite heritage and would be glad to answer any questions you might have about the Amish or what local attractions might best suit your interests
THINGS TO NOTE
The futon in the sitting area is OK for adults, but better for kids
The TV does not have an antennae, meaning it can only be used with the bluray player to watch movies on dvd or through netflix and other apps. Guests will have access to our netflix account using a guest profile
Street parking in front of the house is free all weekend long and 5pm - 8am weekdays. It is metered parking during the weekdays at the rate of $1. 50/hour. Several parking garages are also nearby and offer parking on the weekends for $5/day. Some of the nearby side streets have free parking and would be available anytime
