Description

This newly completed guest house delivers the gracious ambiance of a charming arts and crafts cottage. Beautiful finish carpentry, soft lighting, and comfortable plush furnishings provide an atmosphere of informal farm house luxury. Your stay includes thoughtful touches like free range eggs, warm brownies, fresh flowers, and a tour of the farm and the animals

THE SPACE

The house is fully furnished and decorated with farm house antiques, local art work, hand loomed area rugs, and comfortable couches and chairs. The custom kitchen has spacious wood counter tops, all pots/pans/high quality knives and utensils, as well as coffee makers, a cordless teakettle, blender, and microwave. The master and guest bedrooms have large closets, new beds and excellent linens. For groups larger than 4 there is a very comfortable sleeper sofa in the living room

A full laundry comes stocked with iron and ironing board, extra towels and sheets and washer and dryer. Both full baths have their own hair dryers and hotel amenities
You will love the WiFi, new flat screen TV, DVD player and assortment of family friendly videos and fascinating documentaries, but may find yourselves so occupied with nature, you have no time for being inside

Enjoy outside dining with full barbecue and picnic table, and have your morning coffee on patios off the front next to the garden or the small private one off the master bedroom

GUEST ACCESS

Enter the property down a winding gravel drive lined with fruit trees, and arrive at the large parking area just outside the fenced pocket garden. Walk through the garden and patio area to the front door (wheel chair accessible)

INTERACTION WITH YOUR HOSTS, DON AND TERIZ

For the past 15 years we have raised grass fed beef, pork and lamb and offer farm visits for interested guests. Situated a short walk up the road from the guest house, our farm is child friendly. We have all the farm animals including hens, pigs, sheep and cows and two friendly dogs, Levi and Bess. Often there are baby animals for children to see and sometimes pet with supervision. Guests are welcome to come along to collect fresh eggs for the kitchen and help with other farm chores (such as feeding) if desired. If you do want to see the farm, please call us as soon as you arrive to set up a time; our number is in the information booklet. We do not have organized activities, but guests are welcome to help out with morning and evening feeding

Enjoy the information binder that we have left inside where we have included all the facts that we thing you may need throughout your stay

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

The cottage is located up South Fork Drive and is extremely quiet and private with dark night skies. We are about 20 minutes from the park entrance and 10 minutes from Three Rivers where you'll find restaurants, groceries (Village Market) gifts, espresso and famous Reimer's ice cream and candy. Just out your front door along lightly traveled South Fork Drive, you can take a morning stroll or bicycle ride. Up the road about 7 miles is the trailhead to Ladybug Falls with swimming holes and hiking suitable for children 7 and over (about 1. 7 miles). Guests who have visited this trail have been very enthusiastic

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS RENTAL

Cell service is through ATT only and reception is somewhat limited at the rental. We have provided a land line for your convenience. Except for barbecues, there are no outside fires between March and November. Guests who would like a farm visit please call the house when you arrive to set up a time

We do have WiFi but it is limited to internet searching, reading the news, checking email etc. Television streaming requires a lot of bandwidth which we have to purchase separately. For this reason we have provided plenty of videos for you to watch, and ask that you refrain from gaming and streaming movies--activities that use a lot of bandwidth. If you need to stream videos, please check with us first

In the country insects are a fact of life, as well as being an important part of the food chain for birds and small mammals. We make every effort to keep bugs out of the house, but inevitably a few find their way inside. We have chosen not to spray pesticides as these would be harmful to birds and pollinators, and are probably not good for you, our guests, either. If you do find the (very) occasional earwig or beetle, simply vacuum it up with the handy hand vac in the laundry room
