Le Lauron has been beautifully restored to create a wonderful family home. The house has 5 twin/double bedrooms plus a bunk bed room adjoining the master bedroom. In addition there is a separate annex with a bedroom, living room/kitchenette and bathroom which can sleep a further 4. The South facing house stands in 4 acres of meadows terraces and gardens enjoying superb views of the valley below and the surrounding mountains. The garden is stocked with hundreds of rose, oleander lavender and rosemary bushes; cherries, figs, plums, apples and almonds all grow near the house. There is a stream running close to the house into the meadow below which also contains a newly re-surfaced tennis court. There's a boule pitch, trampoline, croquet set and table tennis table. The large 14-metre swimming pool is on the same level as, but separate from the house. As it is used as a family home it is not just another anonymous holiday villa but a comfortably furnished home full of paintings and antiques. One of the sitting rooms has a log fire and the house has central heating for cooler months
For music lovers, there are plenty of summer concerts (usually chamber music or recitals) in nearby churches: Mass with Gregorian plainsong on Sunday mornings at the Abbey de Thoronet; Opera at Aix-en Provence, Orange and Nice; or jazz at Nice and the nearby villages of Seillans and Montferrat. However, past experience shows that despite the best laid plans to make excursions, most of our guests arrive only to find they prefer to stay put at Le Lauron
There are plenty of poolside sun loungers, two further separate outside dining areas, and a large parasol also available. There is a boule and croquet set, and the house has some tennis and badminton racquets that could certainly be used in an emergency!
The property is cleaned once during week and on changeover day. Bed linen and bathroom towels are included (unless the stay is under a week) and changed once a week
