Our sunny and spacious studio apartment is located within the prestigious Vitalhotel leisure and spa centre in the valley, which is the premier resort of the Dachstein-West ski area. Skiing, langlauf, and snowboarding are all popular here, and there's always more than enough snow from Christmas to the end of March
And in summer it is a popular walking and biking centre, with its cable car to the Zweieselalm plateau above, and trails around and beyond the Gosausee. It is also a well located base for exploring Hallstatt, the lakes region and Salzburg
It consists of a large sunny room with the living area at the front with the balcony, with a large sofa and TV on the sideboard and dining table to the side. The twin beds are at the rear with a large wardrobe. The kitchen is modern with a halogen hob, and the bathroom has a good shower above the tub, with basin and WC. And non-stop hot water!
It is situated high up on the 3rd floor overlooking the valley, with spectacular views of the Gosaukamm ridge, the nearest ski slope and the 'Three Churches'. Our balcony is a fine place to sit at the end of any busy day, in the sunshine till dusk, with the charming sounds of cow-bells and the distant church chimes creating a wonderful atmosphere!
The hotel below us has wonderful facilities, and garden terraces, a good restaurant, bars, tennis hall, gym, Wi-Fi, a Wellness Centre, and free use of the indoor pool, sauna and ski-bus. Why not relax with a sauna or spa treatment after your busy day in the mountains? It's all here, on site!
All this is only 500m from the main road where there are shops, banks, tourist office, restaurants, buses, etc. , and 2kms from the Gosausee (lake) with its glorious, much-photographed view of the Dachstein towering above the deep green waters, with the glacier in its reflection. The ski lifts are 1km and 1. 5kms away with a free ski bus from the front door
Gosau is close to Hallstatt one of the most popular tourist sights in the Salzkammergut, with its Salt Mine and lakeside restaurants
Come and stay with your camera; you will find every turn of the path ahead has a wonderful view!
