Our Guesthouse is part of Jim Thorpe's history - housed above a former circa 1874- ice cream soda shop - this spacious townhouse allows our guests to enjoy the old - world architecture that continues to define the town of Jim Thorpe. The building renovations have retained design details and gives guests an opportunity to admire architectural history, inside and out, with the original storefront and display windows still intact. Details abound such as the polished mahogany wood pillars, hardwood floors and original woodwork. This elegantly reimagined guesthouse is eco - friendly with the preservation of the property's historic character. It was a particular thrill to discover the home's storied history as the East Side Ice Cream district. The building also houses 600 sq. Ft. Situated in a central location, this guesthouse is an excellent base for exploring some of the town's top attractions. The Space Many original details are still in place as the mahogany framed windows, polished wood pillars and the solid mahogany wood staircase. You'll also find a full kitchen with ceramic sink, stainless steel appliances, electric hot water kettle, 10 cup coffee pot, and a spacious living room with a fold out sofa bed, vintage pieces. Great for couples or families, the Guesthouse fits everyone comfortably with three guest bedrooms dressed with designer sheets, comforters and quilts. The bedroom on the second floor has a King bed. The third floor has a private bedroom facing the front of the house with a Queen bed. There is a Queen bedroom next to the Full bath. A half bath is located on the second floor, a full bath with cast iron tub is located on the third floor along with a generous amount of towels. There is a dressing room for stowing luggage, and a fold down futon in an alcove for one. You will have an attractive view of a striking Gothic lighted clock tower church to the front windows, and mountain views to the back windows. For your entertainment needs, we've also provided you with a vintage AM/FM radio and a board games in the living room. Guest Access Guests have exclusive access to the two floors of the townhouse -- where the shopkeepers lived. You may also access the quiet, secluded courtyard and use of the BBQ grill. The entrance is at the back of the building and on-site parking that makes unpacking easy. The first floor is a laundry room that leads to the upper two levels of the townhouse. Keyless entry will allow you to access the inside of the building; then a key is provided to the apartment door
