Cottage By The Sea Bed & Breakfast - 2 Twin XL Beds BR

  • 1 bedroom
  • 1 bathroom

Cottage By the Sea is the picture perfect beach house, only steps from the beach. (So picture perfect in fact, that it was the set location for a movie!) Centrally located exactly between Rehoboth and Dewey, this quaint shingled house is easy walking distance to the two different lively downtown scenes, but provides a quiet respite in between. This is not some cheaply furnished beach rental. This is my home that I am sharing with you. You won't find plastic chairs, cots, or other cheap rickety furniture like many other Airbnbs or rentals in the area. If you've not been to Rehoboth before, location might not seem like a big deal, but traffic along Rt 1 and in town in the summer can be a bear! Other accommodations may say they are close-by, only 5-10 minutes to the beach, or two to four miles. But what they DON'T tell you is that in the summer you may be stuck in gridlock traffic for 30 minutes just to get to the beach or go out to dinner! Then you have to find a place to PARK! It can be a nightmare! Forget all that and stay at my place right up by the beach, central to everything but on a quiet street. And walking distance to whatever you might need. And of course I'll make you a wonderful breakfast! What more can you ask? > Your bedroom is the TWIN room (two EXTRA LONG twin beds). The room has three windows and two dressers, as well as a closet and a ceiling fan. There is a hall bath immediately outside the bathroom door, in the hallway, for use ONLY by the occupants of this Twin room. The opening to the living room from that hallway is curtained off for privacy for this bedroom to be able to freely go back and forth between the bed and bath in privacy. > Feel free to sneak out early in the morning for a sunrise walk or come in late at night. There is a nice OUTDOOR SHOWER in the back of the house for showering after the beach or just rinsing the sand off your feet (with the hose) after a walk. > You'll have access to the main common areas of my home: KITCHEN, LIVING/DINING rooms, and the huge wraparound screened PORCH and of course the outside SHOWER. I have an EXTRA REFRIGERATOR on the porch that guests may use for snacks, BYOB beverages or restaurant leftovers. Keurig Coffee/tea/bottled cold water is always available! Breakfast is included, either hot, made-to-order (at your prescribed time) or I can leave a plentiful continental style breakfast out for your leisure access. (The breakfast I serve you would cost $40-50 at a diner or restaurant here in town, and there aren't many places in town anyway that even serve breakfast, so there is always a long line. ) > Rehoboth Beach has become a haven for foodies; there are so many fabulous restaurants here! The weekends can get pretty crowded, so I recommend making dinner reservations, eating early or late, or getting take out. Feel free to bring dinner home and enjoy at your leisure on the porch dining table. You are welcome to use my grill too, and "stay in" for dinner if you like. (You have kitchen access to staples/spices/condiments for your convenience. ) Of course, I expect you to clean up after yourself. > In addition, I have an upstairs DECK if you'd like to catch rays without the sand, or do some stargazing. I have a nice collection of books and magazines you are welcome to borrow for beach reading. I also have 2 loaner BIKES (one women's, one men's) you may use to ride the local trails or into town. But, I think mostly you'll love having the BEACH only steps away! > Bed linens, a selection of pillows, and nice fluffy bath towels will be provided, but I ask that you bring your own beach towels, blanket, etc. I do have beach chairs and a selection of coolers you are welcome to use. Umbrellas can be rented on the beach for $12. > You are more than welcome to BYOB, use the fridge/ice, for taking drinks/snacks to the beach, or for relaxing on the cool screened porch with a beverage or two after a day in the sun. I have an extra fridge on the porch for your use. I also have a variety of barware (skakers, blender, plastic wine glasses, cocktail glasses and pint beer glasses) you may use as well. > I also have a stack of restaurant menus, and several local guides you can use -- everything you might need to know at your fingertips! I also have several maps, even a bike trail map. > Lastly, you don't have to worry about parking either. I have plenty of off-street parking so you don't have to buy an expensive parking permit or worry about filling the meter with quarters all day while at the beach. I am only a short walking distance into both towns, and there is also the Jolly Trolley that stops only a half block away. > The beach is guarded, and has rental equipt, hot dogs, drinks, snacks, and Planet Ice available by beach shack and from the golf carts driving
