The Grey Shingles Camps property has been a cottage colony since the 1940's. We have just completed extensive renovations! Our aim is to have our guests experience the vacations of old with a modern sensibility! Copple Crown Camp has a view of the great lawn and celebrates our NH mountains with it's alpine theme! The property consists of five acres of open lawn, woodland, an orchard, and a private waterfront with beach on pristine Rust Pond. Magnificent old sugar maples, red maples, Norway spruce, and white pine will greet you as you enter the property through the fieldstone pillars. Massive stone walls line the property boundaries on both sides. At the top of the drive is our pickleball and basketball courts! The Grey Shingles Camps Rec Hall will be in view, with it's old 'Welcome to Grey Shingles' sign. Built in the 1920's for the girls' camp 'Ehawee', the Rec hall provides a spacious gathering place for our guests as well as our Reception desk. Amenities include a living room with a large screen TV with cable, a ping-pong table, and other games. There is a new full kitchen, dining area, screen porch, and a sun deck overlooking the lawn and orchard. Our rates include the use of all Rec hall facilities! Behind the Rec hall are the five fully renovated Grey Shingles Camps in the shade of the towering Norway spruce trees. The camps look out onto the grand lawn which features volleyball, horseshoes, and cornhole games as well as a swingset. A fire pit accommodates our guests for weekly campfires and s'mores. The old apple orchard is the site of our Monday night camp cookouts during the Summer peak-season. We invite all of our guests to gather and enjoy a complimentary meal on us! Apples in the orchard during late summer are numerous, delicious, and will be shared by all! From the orchard, through the opening in the stone wall, is a gently sloping woodland path which leads to our Rust Pond waterfront! You will enjoy relaxing and swimming at our sandy beach, and paddling the kayaks, SUP's, and canoe. The fishing is terrific so bring your rod and tackle!
