A quick walk from the backyard via a Land Trust public wooded path leads to this wonderful sandy 2 mile crescent beach with lifeguard station and beach facilities. For your less abled guests there are non-resident beach parking passes available at City Hall. "Baby what a view"
When you enter the cottage you are in a long room with a living area with an attractive non-working fireplace on one end and a dining area that leads to a wonderful outside deck on the other. The deck has pleasant seating and a long glass dining table. It's a great gathering area with friends/family for a Maine lobster dinner or to just hangout in the shade after the day on the beach. Can you see it now?
Back inside the dining table seats six but easily expands to seat 10 with the addition of two end leafs. The dining area flows nicely into a new fully furnished kitchen wit a six-burner Italian gas stove with electric oven and plenty of quartz countertops. The dishwasher is ultra-quiet and there's a large refrigerator with icemaker. On the far end of the kitchen just before you step down into the sunken family room with cathedral ceilings is a cozy breakfast nook that seats six
The family room size has been increased to easily accommodate your guests comfortably. Here you can enjoy any of the games located in the built-ins or watch television or movies on the large 60"HDTV. There is also a DVD player and Apple TV hooked up to this device. There's a new conveniently located powder room just off the family room along with a coat closet and access to the garage
With the addition of a new master suite, 'Beachmore' now consists of 4 bedrooms
1. Up its own set of stairs from the family room, the new master bedroom with ensuite bath, king-size bed and
Ample-room sitting area with an internet connected large HD flat screen TV, is a private oasis to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the other guests
2. Tucked off the end of a small private hallway on the first floor are a full bathroom with bathtub/shower and a guestroom with a queen size bed and its own HD flat screen TV
3. (& 4) Upstairs from the living and dining room you will find a pair of bedrooms that share a three-quarter bathroom. One bedroom is perfect for kids with three twin beds, an additional twin mattress stored under a bed and fun kid friendly artwork on the walls. The other bedroom contains a second queen-size bed and twin bed. This room also has a small TV with VCR
Additionally the house has a private back yard with an outside shower to wash-off the salt and sand as you come off the beach. Inside there's a full-sized washer and dryer and in the coat closet you will find stored a Graco Pack'n Play and a twin size blow-up mattress
Lastly the house has a professionally installed WIFI with boosters to avoid weak areas and it is split in two with one system designed to ' limit kids' use and is on only in the late afternoon and evenings and the other is available 24-hours
Please come to splash in the waves, watch the seals sun themselves on the rocks, enjoy a morning walk on either the Maine rocky coast line or long sandy beach. Enjoy the sunset from the rocks off South Point. Ride your bike through the village, hike to East Point on the Maine Audubon coastal trail where you will be treated to the spectacular view of the Wood Island Light House and generally unwinding in a friendly, relaxed walkable community with a typical old fashioned Maine general store where you can enjoy coffee with views of the bay side of the peninsula
Driving is not required on a day to day basis due to the fantastic location of "Beachmore" but you may enjoy exploring the sweet villages a few miles to the south such as Cape Porpoise, & Kennebunkport. Stroll the streets and shops of Dock Square, dine at restaurants such as The Ramp in Cape Porpoise, enjoy an adult beverage on the porch of the Tides Beach Club on Goose Rocks Beach or a day at the Spa at Hidden Pond or The Breakwater Inn. Ocean cruises, and Whale watching available to book in KPT
To the north is Portland on Casco Bay where you can catch a ferry that allows you to explore many Maine Island communities
Another quick destination is Old Orchard Beach, quickly gentrifying but still a reminder of an old Honkey Tonk amusement park beach community with an old pier, restaurants, rides for the kids and adults, games, bright neon lights and fireworks every Thursday night at 9:45, July 1st through Labor Day
Alternatively drive inland through New England farms and villages. This area is exceptional in the fall with its foliage and views of the White Mountains.
