Outdoor living spaces include balconies and decks with unobstructed views of nature and the Gore mountain range, and a very private one acre yard with snow-melted stone patio featuring massive whimsical moss rock gas fire pit and new hot tub for up to 7 adults. Highcliffe's acre property is planted with perennial gardens, and features aspen grove, ancient boulders, a tall bucolic waterfall feature and a truly fantastic masonry switchback path up our private mountain to amazing stone belvederes, each with increasing magnificent, unobstructed views of the Vail Valley and Gore Range! Highcliffe Lodge is also one of the few private homes in Vail equipped with central air conditioning. Highcliffe has a great layout for up to 3-family-celebrations/reunions, featuring three large private bedrooms with king and queen beds, all of which have either additional day beds or lofts with twin beds. Many of our guests are intergenerational groups coming to celebrate a family event, such as a particularly significant birthday, anniversary, wedding or other event. Two additional bedrooms easily accommodate 5 additional children (up to 7 if children share double bunks). Even much smaller groups of guests, or simply couples, feel luxuriated and cozy despite unused bedrooms due to Highcliffe's creative floor plan. Bathrooms are mountain themed with quality towels and Aveda soaps. For Winter guests we are partners with SkiHaus, Vail's premier ski equipment rental/retailer with a ski-friendly facility in Vail Village just 200 feet from Gondola 1, and a short walk to your reserved Solaris parking space! SkiHaus will also come to Highcliffe Lodge to fit your party for ski equipment allowing you to avoid the inconvenience of waiting in lines, and then store their rented (or your owned) ski equipment at their slope side facility. They also offer complimentary coffee, tea, cocoa and cookies for skiers, and wine for Apres Ski! Highcliffe also has state of the art on-site ski racks and boot warmers should you wish to keep your skis equipment closer at hand. For Summer and Fall guests our location affords tremendous and wonderful outdoor activities just a stroll away, including white water rafting down Gore Creek through Vail Village to Minturn, fly fishing on Gore Creek nearly across the Street, and entrances to some of the best hiking trails in all of Eagle County, Vail. We are also partners with Sage Outdoor Adventures, one of Vail's best Summer rafting, fishing, and equestrian service providers, and Winter snowmobiling adventurers. The property also has a membership at the nearby Vail Racquet Club where for a small daily fee guests may play tennis, work out in their gym, swim in their outdoor heated pool and enjoy their seasonal restaurant!
