*Rental is from Saturday to Saturday

We are so happy to be offering our home for its 2nd season

Enjoy fabulous views of Duck Cove on the "quiet side" of Mt. Desert Island, home to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. If you love the outdoors and find serenity in being near the ocean, the mountains or the forests, this is the vacation for you! Our Mallard home feels like home, not a rental property. Our home (2100 sq. Ft) has a spacious custom design and tasteful, comfortable furnishings. Our home is designed for your comfort. Enjoy your morning coffee on our 2nd floor balcony facing Duck Cove or grill on the larger, south and water-facing, first floor deck. If it's a rainy day, you can curl up with a good book or work on a jigsaw puzzle. But step outside and there are so many things to do!! You may decide to go hiking on the 57 miles of carriage roads or climb to the summit of Cadillac Mountain or a number of other mountain tops. Cadillac Mountain is the highest point on the east coast, north of Rio de Janeiro and also the first place the sun touches on the east coast. If you don't want to hike, you can pack a picnic and drive your car to the summit for either a beautiful sunrise or sunset. If you brought your kayak (there is also a place to rent kayaks and bikes), there are many places to go for a beautiful paddle, whether it is on the only fjord on the east coast, Somes Sound, or one of the many freshwater lakes nearby, Echo Lake or Long Pond. We also can tell you about the "only the locals know about it" beach, a couple of miles down the road. Kayak rentals are right across the street too! Go for a whale watch and plan your seafood dinner-don't forget the lobstah! You can travel the island on bicycles by putting them on the MDI Island Explorer and get dropped off and picked up at the convenient stops on the entire island. Take a drive around the island as you meander through the adorable harbors, each unique with little coffee shops, restaurants and shops. If you want a night or two out, you can go to the "busy" side of the island to Bar Harbor. There are tons of things to do there! We have a fantastic movie cinema called Reel Pizza Cinema, the "hip movie house with pizza and couch seats". The kids will love ordering something to eat and watching a movie in comfy living room chairs! Bar Harbor has great shops, artists and restaurants. Another plus about our rental is that we know that there are not many places that allow dogs. Our dogs are our family and we are sure you feel the same way. We would like to invite your well-trained dogs to come with you and enjoy a vacation too. ( an additional refundable deposit of $200 is added)
