Boa Vista is a large detached 4-bed, 3-bath, air-conditioned villa on an 800sqm lot. Unlike many properties described rather exaggeratedly as being "in Tavira town", the villa is 6 to 10 mins walk (depending on age, agility and encumberment) to the Roman bridge which is generally regarded as the centre point of old Tavira; a car is not necessary. With a wrap-around marble-tiled terrace at ground floor level and a roof terrace at first floor level, there are panoramic views to the Algarvean hills at the rear, and, to the front, the villa looks along the river, over the Roman Bridge, the Moorish Castle, and over the old town, and out to sea. Eight adult guests and one baby can comfortably be accommodated – a cot and/or high-chair are available free of charge on request. Changeover is normally Saturday. On arrival, you are met by a couple who introduce you to the facilities. They live locally and are on hand 24/7 should any minor emergencies occur during your stay. They also provide a Welcome Basket including tea, coffee, milk, sugar, cheese, cold meats, bread, water, wine, beer, soft drinks, etc – maybe not enough for a four course meal but enough that you don’t have to rush to the supermarket. The villa is equipped throughout to a very high standard. The lounge area is approx 40sqm/450sqft. Cable TV (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese channels) is provided. There are TV's in the lounge, the dining room, the master bedroom and one of the other bedrooms. There is a large open-plan kitchen/dining area comprehensively equipped to cater for eight people – the central island of the kitchen doubles as a breakfast bar. Both lounge and dining room are air-conditioned – and each also has four sliding doors opening onto the wrap around terrace if you prefer a fresh breeze. There are four bedrooms (all with air-con), two with double beds and two with twin beds. There are also three bathrooms. The master bedroom has bathroom en suite, TV, etc. The utility room includes a washing machine and a dryer. Soaps, detergents, toilet paper, etc are provided. The pool is 11m x 5m (36ft x 16ft) and is enclosed by a child-protection fence. The pool area is well equipped – you have a pergola, several umbrellas, 8 loungers, shower, etc. An informal selection of pool toys and flotation aids is available. Underwater floodlights add magic to the pool in the hot summer evenings. Alfresco dining for eight is provided on the patio close to the pool and also on a shaded portion of the wrap-around terrace beside the kitchen. Tables, chairs and umbrellas are also provided on another section of the terrace off the utility room and on the roof terrace (which also has some loungers). A gas BBQ offers easy cooking. Wi-Fi internet access is provided (ADSL 120Mbps nominal with WiFi router and unlimited download); a telephone can be connected on request (the municipality also provides free WiFi at several locations around the old town). There is cable TV (with English channels) in Lounge, Dining and two of the bedrooms; you also have DVD, VCR, HDMI/USB connections, etc. There is an exclusive gym round the corner (50m) -- temporary membership €40. The urbanisation has no through traffic and free on-street parking is readily available. Taxi transfer to/from Faro airport in 2017 costs Euro 50, 00 for max six). Taxis within the urban area are readily available and relatively inexpensive (€4 - €5 in 2017)
