Casa North Beach is a Private Suite located on the lower level of an Edwardian Building which was built in the early 1900's. Tall ceiling, decorative woodwork and lots of San Francisco charm. Guests have their own private entrance and exclusive use of the suite. Our three-generation family does live in the building along with our dog. You might not even see us, unless you want too. But we do share common walls. We take great pride in our home and of course the suite is thoroughly cleaned between stays
Located in the HEART of the city you will never be bored here! Start the day off on the right foot with a stroll around Washington Square Park before sipping on a latte from one of the many coffee shops in the area. Tour the city by land, by sea, or by Segway! Spend the afternoon exploring North Beach, having tea in Chinatown, shopping at Union Square, visiting Fisherman’s Wharf, or soaking up some rays at Washington Square Park like a local
North Beach has some of the best weather in the city. While we do get fog like the rest of the city, you'll most certainly find more sunshine and warmer temperatures here
The city has dutifully limited the amount of chain establishments that can take residence in North Beach, so when it comes time for dinner, so you're sure to sample only genuine fare while here. You can’t go wrong with a bite at Original Joe's, a pie from Tony’s Pizza, Asian fusion at The House, or Mexican at Don Pisto’s. Cap off the night at Tosca Café with their famous boozy coffee or for some local flavor have a cocktail at Tony Nik's … there are so many amazing places to choose from! Your only regret will be that there wasn’t enough time to try them ALL…But hey you can always come back!
A LITTLE HISTORY
Our gorgeous suite is located in San Francisco’s North Beach district is the City’s “Little Italy. ” The heart of this historic quarter is Washington Square Park, an urban oasis surrounded by sidewalk cafes, coffee houses and shops, anchored on the north side by gorgeous Saints Peter and Paul Church. Casa North Beach is just 1 flat block from the park, giving guests an easy access to this lively neighborhood with an Italian accent
North Beach is where the Italian immigrants first settled upon migrating westward from Europe and the East Coast, both during the Gold Rush and in the early part of the 20th century. Much of North Beach has retained the old-world feel of the late 1800s and early 1900s, and you'll still hear Italian being spoken on the streets and in the many cafes that dot the area
First-time visitors to North Beach always have the same question: “Why is it called North Beach if it doesn’t have a beach?”
Ah, but long ago, there was a beach. For more information, check out North Beach's Wikipedia page
*** American Planning Association proclaimed North Beach to be one of nation's 10 best neighborhoods!!!
