Steps to the Charles River in Cambridge, this second-floor 1BR apartment is conveniently located within walking distance to Harvard Business School (5 min), Harvard Square (15 min), Central Square (10 min), Whole Foods (4 min), and public transportation (Central Square Subway, 10 min).
The fully furnished unit features hardwood floors, a well-equipped kitchen with a gas stove, a wooden deck, A/C, internet, and coin-operated laundry in the basement. The futon in the common room can sleep an additional two guests. The bedroom has two closets and excellent natural light (but also wooden blinds should you choose to sleep in).
For guests with a vehicle, I am pleased to offer a visitors parking permit that will let you park on most streets within a couple blocks from the apartment. The parking permit will need to be returned with the keys at the end of your stay.
Some notable places to eat within walking distance: Cuchi Cuchi (amazing cocktail menu), Craigie on Main (fine dining), Salt (fine dining), Life Alive Cafe (awesome vegetarian food and juice bar), 1369 Cafe (local coffee house), and Toscanini's Ice Cream (made on-site, NY Times calls it the "World's Best Ice Cream"). There are tons of other options, but these ones stand out.
The Charles River (a block away) has a bike trail and jogging path with excellent scenery, and several bridges connecting Cambridge to various parts of Boston (including BU, Allston, and Back Bay). In my experience, bicycles are the fastest way to get around Boston/Cambridge (often faster that driving or taking the Subway), and it is possible to rent bicycles by the hour through the Hubway program, which has bicycle stations throughout the two cities.
Families with children are welcome.
About the owner: I'm a friendly Canadian PhD student at MIT, living nearby. I want your stay in Cambridge to be fantastic, and am happy to offer suggestions for local places to eat, drink, and see (there are many options for all tastes and price ranges within walking distance). Ensuring the apartment is clean and comfortable is my top priority. The mattress and box spring have special bed-bug-proof encasements and all linens and towels are freshly laundered.
Available only during the summertime!
