Welcome to Thornapple Cottage, an authentic log cabin in Stowe, Vermont.
This comfortably furnished log cabin is nestled privately on five and a half acres with a new, four-person outdoor year-round hot tub, The location is a tenth of a mile up …

My husband and I got married and could have not picked a better place than thus cottage for our honeymoon!! So cozy and beautiful all around!! Wonderful town and wonderful new friends at O Grady's (great food)
When we got engaged in October, there was only one place I could think of to go away for a few days after the wedding. We are taking a longer honeymoon this summer but wanted a few days to get away. Thornapple Cottage was exactly what we were looking for!!! I've been coming to Stowe since I was 5 years old and wanted to introduce my new husband to my favorite place! LeeLee was a terrific host from our very first communications via email. The cabin was private, clean, cozy and exactly as it looked in the online pictures. The fireplace and the hottub definitely added to the already inviting atmosphere. We hope to come back again and again!
The property was beautiful as was the cabin. The beds were very comfortable and the cabin was nice and clean. Our teenage kids really enjoyed the hot tub. Our experience renting the this log cabin was very good, everything went real smooth and we had no problem with anything. We regret not being able to stay longer, maybe next time.
My wife and I plus my sister and our two Goldens stayed at Thornapple over the 4th of July weekend. Its a very quaint cottage in a perfect location. The road and surrounding scenery are truly picturesque. One big advantage of staying here is that the owners live close by - we had a bit of a mishap with the door bolt not working and we were so fortunate that they live nearby so they could help us get back in. The cabin is right next to all that Stowe has to offer yet its secluded enough that you have your privacy. The hot tub is a wonderful bonus. We are thinking of coming back in the Winter!
I have been looking for this for years and I finally found it. They should rename this cabin "heaven" as it is as close to paradise as possible. This is no exaggeration.
Log cabin charm plus today's conveniences smack dab in the middle of the mountains, nestled in a peaceful, secluded location, yet just minutes from the village. Once we picked up what we needed, we were so comfortable in front of the beautiful stone fireplace, or relaxing in the hot tub, wild horses couldn't have pulled us away! We did venture out to take a drive up Mountain Road... what amazing scenery! Our dog Jack was happy to be invited as well... loved the freedom and space to roam. Even though we decided to escape for the weekend at the last minute, the owners were so accommodating making everything perfect for our arrival. Thanks so much for sharing your piece of heaven with us!!!
I recently stayed at the Thornapple Cottage in mid August with my parents, their dog, and my friend and had the most wonderful time. The cottage itself is so comfortable and homey and the decor was absolutely charming. It's was a true log-cabin experience but with all the comforts of modern life- wifi, dishwasher, TV, etc. A real treat was the hot tub, which was the reason I picked this home over others in the Stowe area. The tub was ready to use upon arrival and stayed at the perfect temperature through the weekend. The cabin was in a great location just minutes from the main Stowe area and close to Ben & Jerry's factory. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a enchanting Vermont getaway!
We stayed at Thornapple Feb. 19-26, 2011 for a ski vacation to Stowe and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is absolutely charming, loaded with antiques and books. We are a family of 4 with two children (14 and 11) and it was perfect for us. We were able to bring our dog Buddy, which was a real treat, since usually he has to stay behind. We used the hot tub most nights after our cold days on the slopes. We enjoyed the privacy and peace of having it to ourselves, versus sharing with everyone else at a resort. We usually stay slopeside, but were very drawn to living in a log cabin as well as the ability to bring the dog. We were not disappointed and would definitely return again.
We rented this cabin in mid-October for our honeymoon. The cabin is very private with few neighbors and wonderful ambiance. At the same time, it is very close to Stowe's main attractions and other points of interest in Vermont (we ventured to Waterbury and Burlington while at the cabin). The hot tub is wonderful for relaxing after a long hike, ski, or walk around the town. We visited the area close to peak foliage, which was absolutely breathtaking. Would absolutely recommend this cabin for anyone who is looking for a quiet, cozy, and private getaway at a very convenient location.
Over President's Day week 5 of us decided to take a relaxing trip to Stowe, VT to go skiing and we wanted nothing more than a secluded, cozy log cabin that is close to everything. THIS IS IT!! The cabin was clean, cozy and provided all of the amenities one would need for a perfect getaway. From sledding in the yard to relaxing in the hot tub the cabin is great and we couldn't have asked for any more. The owner even brought over more firewood after I asked where we could get more. (Hey, there is nothing cozier than a roaring fire in the evening:-) The village is less than a mile drive and the ski resort is about 7 miles in little to no traffic on a busy day. The property was all it was advertised to be and more as were the owners. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and plan to!
