Ideally located a few minutes walk from the popular Bali Deli.
Villa Madu, is ideally situated close to the Bali Deli, in Seminyak, the most popular destination where you will find all the best shopping and restaurants.

This is the third time we have been to Bali, this time we came with another family so we needed an affordable villa to accommodate us all.
We were all picked up by the driver Made, who is very friendly, and who also drove us around on sightseeing tour.
The villa is clean, spacious and we particularly loved the lounge and outside patio area.
We loved the location, close to the Bali Deli and near to everything, the staff were a delight, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they also arranged breakfast for us.
Prior to our departure we called Nick just to check everything, he was very helpful and we would recommend that all travelers contact the owner direct. Nick lives just around the corner and came by a couple of times to check in on us and helped us arrange a tour to the volcano.
We had a great time, nothing really to complain about, there was a problem with one of the a/c units, but this was fixed the very same day.
A big thanks to Nick and all the staff at Villa Madu, we will be back for sure.
this place was great for an multi-generational group. e needed 5 bedrooms a our youngest was 20 months, and the oldest was 58. The venue had a traditional and authentic aesthetic. It was not too glitzy or over the top, so we felt v comfortable.
The best: plenty of space, well-laid out with private spaces that are a/c; proximity to supplies(200m from Bali Deli), well-equipped and good amenities; easy living; easy to deal with management/ caretaker/cleaner; great value for price.
The worst: not walking distance from the beach, hard to find for transport, need better information and networks, would be nice if the streetscape was a little clearer and in better repair.
The villa is very pretty, decorated in Indonesian style, full of nice statues of Buddha. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms very nice. Great staff working for the villa, from housekeeping to the nice and cute Yolanda who takes care of the guests making us feel like one big family.
Villa Madu Thanks for a nice stay in Bali.
We had a great stay in this nice traditional home. The house is very pretty with traditional Balinese decoration and beautiful rooms. The layout is very well thought out and everything is set (dishes, outlet, adapter, mosquito repellent, Hi-Fi, TV, DVD, books, ...), the rooms are large. The staff is very friendly and the service is great (nice lunch, cleaning all the room, pool cleaning, gardening ...). The breakfast are good and served at your convenient time. Everything was planned from our arrival at the airport. The house is very well situated in a quiet area, however near a small supermarket and some restaurants. We walked to the beach through the shopping and nightlife streets of Seminyak, perfect. As for the owner, Nick, he was very friendly and responded quickly to all my emails and planned everything perfectly. He even visited us. We will come back with pleasure and we recommend this house.
I stayed here for Easter Weekend 2013 with two friends and we had a great time. The villa has a very retro thai feel, with antique pictures of the thai royal family adorning the walls and a beautiful big buddha head in the living area. If I was forced to share five pros and cons, this is what it would look like:
- Awesome owner (Nick). Down to earth guy and very accommodating. He told us this very scary story though that there is a "villa scam" happening around the world where con artists set-up great looking villa websites, get you to send a deposit, then disappear! So make sure you pay your deposit through a trusted site! (PS I dont work for any site but thought I would share)
- The villa is stocked full of everything you need for you and many guests (plates, glasses, pots and pans, etc)
- There are actually 5 rooms here (for some reason I thought it was 4). Three are in the main area and two are in what looks like a traditional wood Thai house exported to the villa, very exotic!
- Rooms are all very comfortable, nice beds, air conditioning
- Spacy, you can go off and read a book in one of the corners and not have to worry about always bumping into others.
- The pool is made of older, standard tiles, could use an esthetic uplift (If it sounds like I am grasping for straws, I told you I am forcing myself to list 5 pros and 5 cons)
- I found the room a bit dark at night, the light bulbs are not that bright
- It's a short 5 minute walk to the main road which makes it great because there is no traffic sound but I am lazy so I made my friends go walk to get a taxi.
- hmmmm, I am straining for a fifth ....
Summary: Like the subject header this is a very cozy villa and it's an enjoyable stay for the right price.

Long term resident, Dee Mytton, is an institution in Bali. Renowned for her sense of style, she has worked hard over many years to create Villa Kubu, adding one by one the villas which make up this charming estate. The result: currently (2013) 17 highly individual villas, capturing much of Dee’s personality and karma.
Elegant tall walls made from cream-toned rock hide deliciously romantic one-, two- and three-bedroom air-conditioned villas each oozing a traditional charm far removed from the modern villa estates popping up all over Bali. Hidden behind the walls through carved wood doors are free-form pools set in small but colourful gardens with sun loungers for tanning and bales for shade. Inside, warm wood accents and traditional furniture scavenged from the antiques stores of nearby Kerobokan sit well with modern flat-screen satellite TVs, WiFi, DVD and iPod players.
Bedrooms are furnished with luxuriously dressed king-size beds, most crowned with majestic mosquito nets, leading to bathrooms that open skywards. Fitted with terrazzo baths and generous showers, bathrooms typically include a massage bed for those looking for an in-room spa treatment (or yoga or meditation session with qualified trainers). Comfortable and colourful lounges spill out onto the gardens. Sprinkled with objets d’art, each villa showcases Dee’s wonderful eye for detail (a wide selection of teas and local music CDs, natural soaps and shampoos to name just a few) creating a delightful homely feel as perfect for a honeymooning couple as for a family or small group of friends.
Compact fitted kitchens at each villa allow for simple meals, drinks and snacks to be prepared, but top-notch hotel-style room service is also available, as are tempting treats and drinks at the estate’s Kubu Café. Alternatively, guests can walk into Seminyak in less than five minutes for a breath taking array of eateries. A series of flags by each carved front door tell the cleaning and service staff if you are out on the town (or in Villa Kubu’s Spa Venus – a heavenly experience!) or if you wish to be left alone to enjoy the tranquillity of Dee’s charming and very unique labour of love.
