Studio Apt. #319 -at St. John's on Capitol Hill
Apartment 319 is a large room and has in it a very nice kitchen area including a fridge, gas range and convection micro-wave oven. The bed is a queen, very comfortable and bought new in August of 2012. There is a small table with two chairs and a high-backed love seat. The TV is a 40" Samsung flatscreen, 1080p and 120 hz, so it's great to watch movies and play games. We have a DVD player and digital cable including HBO. There is also a cd player with ipod dock. Wireless internet wi-fi is included and the apartment is air-conditioned.
We have a full time manager living in the building who will check you in and be of any assistance you might need. His name is Johnny-he's been with us for 7 years already and plans to retire with us, as he loves the job. He's a restaurant critic in his spare time, and will definitely give advice on where to go in the neighborhood. We've also put in each apartment a book with neighborhood restaurant menus, so you can make some decisions yourself!
To make a reservation with us you will need to go to our website, which is linked below. On our site there is a link to a secure site where you can check availability and reserve on-line. We require a deposit of $150 with the balance paid on arrival. We take Visa, Master/Card and Discover. In addition to the nightly rate parking adds $12.00 per day. Many of our guests bring cars and never use them once at St. John's. It's easier to walk about than to drive and then find a place to park. There are taxis on our street all day and night, and the bus stops one block from us.
Transportation from Sea-Tac Airport is fairly easy. There is a light rail line from the airport to downtown, and from there a taxi to us is very inexpensive. There is also a fixed taxi rate from the airport, with tip the total cost will be about $50. The city is building a link to the light rail and in the future you'll be able to come within a few blocks of us, but that will be two years from now!
Check-in time is after 2 p.m. and check-out is by 11 a.m.
We do have a strict three night minimum and discount for longer stays. In the winter we encourage people who need a place to stay for a month or longer. In the summer there is so much demand for a place like ours that we don't do monthly stays.
We just finished remodeling this apartment. It's been a regular long term rental up until May of this year. The last tenant lived in it for six years. We think that's proof it must be a good apartment for someone to stay there that long. And it is. It's a very comfortable space and such a convenient location that it's very hard to beat.
We've owned the building since 2005 and have completely remodeled it. All our tenants are great people-mostly 20 and 30 something working professionals, and a few students. Everybody is quiet and over the years we've become good friends. The back deck with barbecue and picnic table becomes a place to cook and eat diner, and our short-term guests are invited to use this area as well. It's much better than staying in a hotel, it's like actually living in the city! Come stay with us and you'll see what I mean. Thanks! (Written by Mark Chambers, owner.)

Welcome to Suite Shagalicious. Live for a time like you’re on the set of Madmen in 800 square feet of authentic, midcentury modern style, all part of a 1958 custom-built home by Swedish-born designer, Martin Ollas. This spacious, open-concept studio apartment is set to sleep you, and up to 2 others, in total comfort and style.
Proud with pedigree, Suite Shagalicious is a jewel within the showcase home praised for its architectural style and interior design chops, appearing in a full-feature layout for Seattle Times’ Pacific NW Magazine.
Punctuated with original art and furnished with a mix of modern and period designer pieces, The Shag is a skillful blend of the iconic past and all the modern upgrades one would expect in a contemporary boutique vacation rental setting. Well-appointed eat-in kitchen, defined living and sleeping areas, full-service laundry room, private bathroom and shower, and a luxurious, wrap-around, wood-burning fireplace all located on one floor, no stairs. The wonderful advantage of this layout is everything centers on the fireplace and the HD Satellite TV to enjoy from both the bed, and the sofa.
Speaking of comfort, we receive many accolades for our king size, memory foam, Bragada bed. Outfitted with 4 pillows; 2 Pacific Coast down (no goose feathers, here) and 2 memory-foam, this bed is one of luxury rarely available even at high-end hotels.
The additional traveler in your party will enjoy the suites’ American Leather Comfort Sleeper, a sofa that opens to a Double bed featuring an exclusive memory foam mattress on a platform foundation. This sleeper is the industry standard, guaranteed to provide a superb nights’ sleep without springs. No fear of losing coin flips, here!
Of particular value is the advantage of private outdoor living space that comes as a bonus with the suite rental. The outdoor areas live like that of a full-sized home thanks to the professional talents of landscape architect, Brooks Kolb and Tallar Landscaping & Construction. A gorgeous, well-lit, private entry and serene, modern water feature greet you at the front door. The water feature placement ensures it can be seen from the kitchen and heard through the open window to wonderful effect. The single-light back door opens to a private, all-season, covered cedar porch for magnificent sunset views over the Puget Sound and snow-capped Olympic peaks. The sea air here is remarkable. And beyond the porch lays a gated courtyard for BBQ’s and other private-use enjoyment. Past the gate is a fire bowl for campfire-style entertainment during summer-season…toasted marshmallows, anyone?
There’s no shortage of free, convenient street parking. The corner bus provides a 10-minute ride to Downtown, leaving every 20 minutes. Alki Beach and Fauntleroy Ferry are both 7-minute rides. Our location is only blocks to the California Junction and Farmer’s Market. With a walk to Morgan Street Junction shopping, drug store, convenience store, library, golf course, parks and church.
My husband and I are deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished making this home everything we knew it could be, and more. And since 2005, our honor and privilege is to share it with you. We have found our enthusiasm to do so is felt by all who visit here, and are humbled by those returning to us year after year. No greater emphasis to this point can be made than what has already been expressed by the nearly 100 on-line reviewers who share this view. Please read their comments and make your reservation with confidence. We hope to see you soon!

Come to Seattle and stay in a secret garden hideaway in one of the top neighborhoods, Mount Baker. It is 10 minutes to downtown and the ball parks and is one block away from the bus (#14) that takes you directly to downtown and pretty close to the ballparks (walking distance.) If you are coming here for work, you can get around pretty easily and there is street parking if you are renting a car.

This unit is very quiet and is the back of the house at the garden level. You access it by the side entry way and have your own door with plenty of privacy. It's a pretty unit with access to the backyard with patio furniture, a BBQ grill and fresh vegetables if it's the right time of year. It's a relatively quiet neighborhood with nice homes up and down the street. It's just two blocks from Lake Washington where you can run, ride your bike or just take a scenic walk on the path.

The house is in walking distance to some great neighborhood restaurants like That's Amore, La Bonne Franquette, and Respast, a patisserie with the best croissants Seattle has to offer. The nearby store is QFC and there are some restaurants around like Thai, Vietnamese, Italian, French, BBQ and so forth. The street we are on is residential, but you have just a short 5 minute walk to some cute restaurants. In the unit there is a fridge, microwave, panini grill, toaster oven and a coffee maker. We give you dishes and things like that so it's pretty easy.
