Tom, This was a perfect "home away from home" for us! We appreciated all the many extras that were provided. The view is spectacular! We were here for our nephew's wedding and the location of your home made it easy to get to all the events. Some of the things we enjoyed (besides the view) were: * So easy to get to Fred Meyer to pick up food and misc items * Dinner at La Isla (they also catered the wedding dinner) * Tour of Theo's Chocolate factory * Golden Gardens (where the wedding was held) * Pikes Market * Chihuly Exhibit Now we're moving on to the Olympic Peninsula for part two of our trip. Thanks again for providing a VERY welcoming home.
Tom was great to work with and very helpful answering questions and communicating information. The house is in a lovely area and has a beautiful view. The house is fully stocked and he is very thoughtful in making sure you have what you need to get you started. He had fresh fruit waiting for us as well as breakfast food for our first morning. It was really hot the 1st evening we arrived and Tom had a portable air conditioner in each of the bedrooms to help us get thru the unusual heat wave. Of course, it only last two nights and then it was back to the lovely Seattle weather we all love. The location is in the center of everything we wanted to see and we saw it all. Wonderful sightseeing trip, with the added bonus of attending a family wedding. We did discover that it is quite a steep hill, so keep that in mind when planning your trip. Very nice and we would visit again.
We were very satisfied with our visit to Seattle and having this as our home base for the week. It really did feel like home. Everything was well stocked. Including some items for cooking and food. Tom is really attentive and super nice. He brought us fresh eggs every day from the chickens. He did tell us about the chickens, but I never heard them at night or early morning. We loved having our graduation celebration in the back yard too. It was nice to be close to the U. District but not have to deal with all the travel congestion. There is a bus close by if you don't have a car. Thanks again Tom for sharing your home!!!!
First of all, Tom is a gem. Helpful, friendly, kind, and informative. The house is well-equipped and well-maintained. It is spacious enough, yet homey. All amenities are provided for a stay to make you feel right at home. We cooked in 3 of our 4 nights at the Ballard House as everything available to us there made it very easy. We bought fresh seafood from Pike Market and had feast one of the nights. And the fresh eggs... oh how delicious they were! Don't think I can eat another Egglands Best again. We are spoiled! My three lady friends and I thoroughly enjoyed this house, the location, the hospitality and most importantly the chance to have such a great place for our reunion. We took advantage of the hot tub a few nights and savored that amazing view every evening at sunset. Breathtaking!
We first stayed at the Ballard House during Summer 2011 and were extremely pleased with everything about the house and the location. When we decided to visit Seattle for the holidays, we knew we would want to stay here. Our return visit felt like coming home: clean, comfortable, quiet, scenic, ready access to public transportation for trips around the city, and a host who is always accommodating and friendly (the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree was fun to see when when we arrived). Fresh eggs every day became a habit we enjoyed a lot. Our time went by far too quickly. We love the area and can think of no better place from which to enjoy it than the Ballard House.
I found the Ballard View Guesthouse online back in January, when my son told me that he was getting married in November. I wanted a family friendly home to share with my mom, brother and my family of 3. This house has it all. The view is amazing, Tom is a great host and was on hand to welcome us and show us all around and the chickens delivered 5 eggs a day, and two of them had 2 yolks! The backyard is private, hot tub and fire table, and BBQ to expand the living space outside. We even hosted a family dinner for 11. Enough table settings and a full service kitchen made it easy for my daughter and her boyfriend to cook us an amazing meal. Did I mention the views? WOW!!!!! I could just sit there and look out the floor to ceiling windows all night long, and did. The house is only 20 minutes from downtown Seattle. Seattle Center, Pike Place Market, Space Needle and The Big Wheel so close, that we went on three separate occasions. Everything that you need is in the house. Just bring your clothes, and enjoy all that Ballard has to offer. We will visit Seattle again soon, and when we do, I will reach out to Tom for a great place to lay my head! thanks Tom, we truly enjoyed your home. Thank you for making our special occasion that much more special!
Our family (husband, wife, two children) stayed here for almost a week in April 2012. Location is great. Quiet neighborhood. The kitchen was stocked, I didn't even have to go shopping the first day! Loved the Keurig. My kids loved the chickens. Tom is a gracious host. We came home to Nevada raving about it, our friends stayed here & thy loved it of! We can't wait to come back.
We stayed in this wonderful house for 10 days with our 4 year old and 2 year old and it was the perfect place for us to explore Seattle. We went to most of the tourist destinations (Ballard Locks, Seattle Center, Westlake center) without every having to get into a rental car. The bus that connects to all these destination is only a 3 minute walk away. The zoo is within walking distance. There is a wonderful park with a great play structure in 10mins walk. There are also a lot of restaurants within a short walk or bus ride. We truely enjoy the location. In addition, being frequent VBRO customers, this house has the best amenities by far. Everything you need. You can literally come with the clothes on your back and you'd be well prepared to stay. Tom also offers the unique experience of getting fresh eggs from his chickens. There is nothing quite like a fresh egg for breakfast in the morning. Did I mention the jacuzzi in the wonderful backyard. Put the kids to bed and it is another mini-vacation for the parents. Thank you Tom for a truely wonderful stay.
My husband, 16 month old daughter and I found Tom's property perfect for our trip. He had it baby proofed for us, a pak N play, baby dishes, high chairs, crib sheets, etc. He also had a ton of little touches that made life easy - good soaps, laundry detergent, nice towels, a hot tub, a fire pit, a gas grill, covered parking... The view is amazing from the kitchen and living room as well. We hope to rent again from Tom next year. The house is in a great area of Seattle and easy drive to downtown. I cannot say enough good things about his rental.
The view is better than the picture. The house has everything it advertises and then some. It is the best appointed rental house we have stayed in. Everything you could possibly need and then some is in the kitchen; every pot and pan you could ask for as well as spices and condiments. What a delight to go to Pike's Place Market (only 10 minutes away), look at all the wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables and flowers, buy some as well as fresh fish and come back to this well equiped kitchen to cook. I also appreciated that every appliance had detailed instructions.
We just returned a few days ago, from staying at Tom's wonderful home! To say we didn't want to leave, is an understatement. The home far exceeded our expectations. The views are breathtaking! We would have coffee every morning, and just take it the beauty! It was wonderful to have some things stocked for us- so we didn't have to run right out to the grocery store. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, and the wonderful coffee maker, has us spoiled! There were alot of spices, and plenty of condiments in the fridge- along with, just about anything else you would need to cook or grill. The hot tub in the "backyard oasis" was wonderful! We enjoyed it morning and evening, and it was always warmed up and ready to go! So many things we didn't have to pack or worry about, as Tom has provided them for your use. Robes and crocs to get to and from the hot tub...and lovely outdoor firepit in back as well! Whether we sat by the firepit, or were in the hottub, the backyard was a soothing place to hang out, and also watch the many birds that stop by to visit. On nights we just wanted to take it easy, there were plenty of games, or rent movies. A nice selection of cd's, and cd player, were really nice touches as well. Awesome having a washer and dryer at the house- we packed alot lighter knowing we could do our laundry. We can't wait to return!!! Thank you Tom again for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home!!!
Tom, the owner , helped us out of a jam. Another VRBO property , that we had already rented was sold before we stayed there. When we went to stay there ,we were locked out. We quickly looked @ VBRO and found this property. We called Tom and he told us to come on over. When we arrived he was just doing some finish up cleaning ( that wasn't needed ) . We found to our delight , a very beautiful house. Well appointed and quite comfortable. If you are going to Seattle and want a place that is convieniantly located , very comfortable , quite affordable and run by a VERY hospitable owner , please be assured that you can do no better. I would recommend to anybody ,stay here!Thank you Tom, for helping make our stay in Seattle a wonderful time. Very sincerely , richardroxannejoyce&ed
