Seattle at its Best - the Premiere Walking Neighborhood!!

Gorgeous, beautifully-appointed 1912 Craftsman bungalow in the premiere walking district of Seattle — theaters, restaurants, shopping and more shopping, parks and trails for walking and biking; close to bus lines to downtown Seattle, the Seattle A …

This charming apartment in the funky Seattle neighborhood of Wallingford has all that you could need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We loved the decor, which reflected the owner's artistic flair and included lots of wonderful textiles. Garnett provides a binder with helpful tips for getting around by bus as well as recommendations and personal comments on restaurants within easy walking distance. The apartment was very clean, the bed was comfy, and the photos and descriptions here are accurate. Garnett is a lovely person and is happy to share information and suggestions on things to do in the area, as well as on the history of the house. We just wish we could have stayed longer and had better weather so we could take advantage of the lovely garden. Would definitely recommend to friends!
We stayed two nights in this lovely apartment in the very interesting Wallingford neighbourhood. It is just big enough for comfort with all that you could need; better than a hotel for sure. Our host Garnett provided good information about exploring the area and getting to and from downtown. We followed her instructions and had no trouble finding our way. We go to Seattle frequently from our home in Victoria, BC, and will surely arrange to visit this spot again.
We really enjoyed this spot. Comfortable bed, beautiful garden and convenient location. We walked to breakfast past beautiful flower gardens in the neighborhood. We hope for a return visit soon!
Literally a home away from home. Comfortable, clean, great location, wonderful hosts. The friendly cat was an extra bonus. We will surely stay here again next time we are in Seattle.
Very nice place, well kept and maintained. Small bathroom and shower but adequate. Good location.
Great Place to stay...we felt very much at home in this charming home...great neighborhood!
We stayed here when revisiting the neighborhood where we used to live. We found the apartment well equipped, comfortable, and quiet. It is within a short walk to numerous good restaurants, coffee shops, groceries, a gelato shop (recommended (and shown) by the apartment owner), and public transportation. We had a rental car for out-of-town destinations, and on street parking was available whenever we returned to the apartment. The owner was helpful when needed (e.g., WIFI password), and there was a lot of current information in the apartment about local restaurants, shopping, museums, ferry schedule, bus routes, etc. I would recommend this apartment to anyone (or two) visiting Seattle who wants a quiet and convenient in-town location.
My husband and I stayed at the Wallingford apartment on Woodlawn Ave for 10 days. The apartment is lovely, and the owner, Garnett Hundley and Beverly, could not have been nicer or more in tune with our needs and comfort. There were more than enough towels, linens, kitchen equipment, and the bed was very comfortable. The frontyard is beautiful and we loved sitting outside (weather permitting) and enjoying the flowers and water fountain - how relaxing. Their cat, Tuxedo, is so sweet, and friendly. The whole time was great and we would recommend it to anyone wanting a neighborhood experience, rather than a hotel setting.
Garnett has provided a beautiful and comfortable retreat for the traffic weary traveler! Art and ethnic textiles create a relaxing atmosphere. Her gorgeous gardens are full of scents and sounds for a calming stay! The location is central to where I needed to travel and I easily found my way to downtown for the Seattle Art Museum and north for my artist's talk in Shoreline. I could have brought a companion easily but felt comfortable staying alone. She helped with restuarant dinner suggestions by having a binder full of useful information, including buslines. There is a local market and cute shops and eating places within an easy walk. I will let friends know about this vacation rental when they are heading up to Seattle and will definitely stay here again! Thanks!!!!
I had a wonderful experience renting this apartment. Great apartment and great location! I have already recommended this apartment to family and friends.
The place was very clean, and every detail was thought of. The bed was extremely comfortable. The place was warm & cozy. The kitchen was very well equipped. Everything worked, the dishes were even beautiful. I loved the art on the walls, but mostly, I loved the sensibility of thinking of her guests' every need. Garnett is a lovely person. Thank you for being so sweet to my 3 year old granddaughter! You made my stay a delight. I would like to come again!

Studio Apt. #319 -at St. John's on Capitol Hill
St. John's has six short-term rentals and 17 long term rentals. It's on East Pike Street across from a large supermarket, within easy walking distance to Seattle's downtown plus the hospitals and Seattle University. A great location!

Apartment 319 is a large room and has in it a very nice kitchen area including a fridge, gas range and convection micro-wave oven. The bed is a queen, very comfortable and bought new in August of 2012. There is a small table with two chairs and a high-backed love seat. The TV is a 40" Samsung flatscreen, 1080p and 120 hz, so it's great to watch movies and play games. We have a DVD player and digital cable including HBO. There is also a cd player with ipod dock. Wireless internet wi-fi is included and the apartment is air-conditioned.
We have a full time manager living in the building who will check you in and be of any assistance you might need. His name is Johnny-he's been with us for 7 years already and plans to retire with us, as he loves the job. He's a restaurant critic in his spare time, and will definitely give advice on where to go in the neighborhood. We've also put in each apartment a book with neighborhood restaurant menus, so you can make some decisions yourself!
To make a reservation with us you will need to go to our website, which is linked below. On our site there is a link to a secure site where you can check availability and reserve on-line. We require a deposit of $150 with the balance paid on arrival. We take Visa, Master/Card and Discover. In addition to the nightly rate parking adds $12.00 per day. Many of our guests bring cars and never use them once at St. John's. It's easier to walk about than to drive and then find a place to park. There are taxis on our street all day and night, and the bus stops one block from us.
Transportation from Sea-Tac Airport is fairly easy. There is a light rail line from the airport to downtown, and from there a taxi to us is very inexpensive. There is also a fixed taxi rate from the airport, with tip the total cost will be about $50. The city is building a link to the light rail and in the future you'll be able to come within a few blocks of us, but that will be two years from now!

      Check-in time is after 2 p.m. and check-out is by 11 a.m.
We do have a strict three night minimum and discount for longer stays. In the winter we encourage people who need a place to stay for a month or longer. In the summer there is so much demand for a place like ours that we don't do monthly stays.

We just finished remodeling this apartment. It's been a regular long term rental up until May of this year. The last tenant lived in it for six years. We think that's proof it must be a good apartment for someone to stay there that long. And it is. It's a very comfortable space and such a convenient location that it's very hard to beat.

We've owned the building since 2005 and have completely remodeled it. All our tenants are great people-mostly 20 and 30 something working professionals, and a few students. Everybody is quiet and over the years we've become good friends. The back deck with barbecue and picnic table becomes a place to cook and eat diner, and our short-term guests are invited to use this area as well. It's much better than staying in a hotel, it's like actually living in the city! Come stay with us and you'll see what I mean. Thanks! (Written by Mark Chambers, owner.)
