We had a very good experience staying here. The room had everything we needed and we were very comfortable. I often have trouble sleeping on beds that aren't my own but I slept great! High quality linens and towels. I love nice towels!
Great spot-slept well (sooo quiet!) and we couldn't tear ourselves away from Mioposto (cafe´)...2 dinners, morning coffee and treat. What a great neighborhood restaurant! We will recommend you to others!
First trip to Seattle. Had fun using the kitchen and the teapot. Great spot to take a run. great weather despite daily reports of rain. The sun was out for a bit every single day! Yea for the Light Rail!
We visited for two nights and it was the perfect place for just the two of us. We were in town to see baseball at Safeco and generally relax. It was easy to find, not too far off I-5. Parking was right across the street. The house is an easy walk (maybe about 10-15 minutes) to light rail which goes right to the stadiums and on to downtown, as well as to the airport. Also within walking distance of a couple grocery stores, the lake, a park, and a cute little pizza place/coffee shop. The neighborhood was very quiet and relaxing. We didn't use our car at all while we were there. The studio was clean and comfortable. Kitchen had a small stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher (we didn't use it), regular coffee pot, a french press (VERY thankful for that!) and plenty of dishes/silverware for two people. Suzanne was a very gracious hostess. We exchanged many emails and she was very helpful. We'll definitely be staying again on future trips to Seattle!
We arrived late at night by taxi from airport. We decided to do Seattle without a car and had a great time. The little restaurant at the corner for Italian food was great for our morning breakfasts. We walked and did all the sites....amazing how easy it was to get on the light rail or even the number 14 bus right outside the house in mt Baker. We loved going on walking tours of the neighborhood and along the Washington lake front park. SuzAnne is wonderful and gave great directions to our cab driver, offered to help with a trip to grocery but we just needed light food things since Seattle is so full of the "foodie restaurants". We left from this quaint and comfortable place for a week long cruise so our send off was just right....we did the town of Seattle on foot.....Columbia City, Ballard Locks, Washington University, Arbortoreum, and Japenese Botanical Gardens. Of course we also had easy access to the down town area of Pikes Place Market, Sculpture Gardens and also the Discovery Park using buses, train and foot.
A jewel! The owner very helpful on local sites, etc. She is a treasure and has become a friend. The unit is new and cozy, has nice bathroom, kitchen and bed. Cool eating area and TV watching, also outdoor sitting and hot tub! All great and perfectly located for us,near a great eating place and in easy walking distance from grocery store, also bus line is across the street and,is really quite wonderful for seeing the city. Parking available nearby. Seattle downtown is very nice with ferries easily available for visit of Puget Sound islands. People in Seattle know how to eat! We're moving here.
My husband and I had a wonderful time @ this property. Parking was simple and the bus/lightrail was convenient. The bed was so comfortable that we actually slept in for the first time in years. The studio was clean, quiet and private. The hot tub was wonderful. We will definitely stay there again. Thanks!
Our second time here and will certainly come again. Fantastic location, walking distance to Lake Washington to see Sea Fair, walking distance to the best little bistro, right on the bus line if you like public transport, easy parking if you have a car. Sweet little studio with all the amenities.
Nice host. Clean. Close to transit. Exactly what we were looking for. Would definitely stay there again.

West Seattle Suite Shagalicious Studio Vacation Rental for Midcentury Living
Welcome to Suite Shagalicious. Live for a time like you’re on the set of Madmen in 800 square feet of authentic, midcentury modern style, all part of a 1958 custom-built home by Swedish-born designer, Martin Ollas. This spacious, open-concept studio apartment is set to sleep you, and up to 2 others, in total comfort and style.

Proud with pedigree, Suite Shagalicious is a jewel within the showcase home praised for its architectural style and interior design chops, appearing in a full-feature layout for Seattle Times’ Pacific NW Magazine.

Punctuated with original art and furnished with a mix of modern and period designer pieces, The Shag is a skillful blend of the iconic past and all the modern upgrades one would expect in a contemporary boutique vacation rental setting. Well-appointed eat-in kitchen, defined living and sleeping areas, full-service laundry room, private bathroom and shower, and a luxurious, wrap-around, wood-burning fireplace all located on one floor, no stairs. The wonderful advantage of this layout is everything centers on the fireplace and the HD Satellite TV to enjoy from both the bed, and the sofa.

Speaking of comfort, we receive many accolades for our king size, memory foam, Bragada bed. Outfitted with 4 pillows; 2 Pacific Coast down (no goose feathers, here) and 2 memory-foam, this bed is one of luxury rarely available even at high-end hotels.

The additional traveler in your party will enjoy the suites’ American Leather Comfort Sleeper, a sofa that opens to a Double bed featuring an exclusive memory foam mattress on a platform foundation. This sleeper is the industry standard, guaranteed to provide a superb nights’ sleep without springs. No fear of losing coin flips, here!
Of particular value is the advantage of private outdoor living space that comes as a bonus with the suite rental. The outdoor areas live like that of a full-sized home thanks to the professional talents of landscape architect, Brooks Kolb and Tallar Landscaping & Construction. A gorgeous, well-lit, private entry and serene, modern water feature greet you at the front door. The water feature placement ensures it can be seen from the kitchen and heard through the open window to wonderful effect. The single-light back door opens to a private, all-season, covered cedar porch for magnificent sunset views over the Puget Sound and snow-capped Olympic peaks. The sea air here is remarkable. And beyond the porch lays a gated courtyard for BBQ’s and other private-use enjoyment. Past the gate is a fire bowl for campfire-style entertainment during summer-season…toasted marshmallows, anyone?
There’s no shortage of free, convenient street parking. The corner bus provides a 10-minute ride to Downtown, leaving every 20 minutes. Alki Beach and Fauntleroy Ferry are both 7-minute rides. Our location is only blocks to the California Junction and Farmer’s Market. With a walk to Morgan Street Junction shopping, drug store, convenience store, library, golf course, parks and church.

My husband and I are deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished making this home everything we knew it could be, and more. And since 2005, our honor and privilege is to share it with you. We have found our enthusiasm to do so is felt by all who visit here, and are humbled by those returning to us year after year. No greater emphasis to this point can be made than what has already been expressed by the nearly 100 on-line reviewers who share this view. Please read their comments and make your reservation with confidence. We hope to see you soon!
