The water feature placement ensures it can be seen from the kitchen and heard through the open window to wonderful effect. The single-light back door opens to a private, all-season, covered cedar porch for magnificent sunset views over the Puget Sound and snow-capped Olympic peaks. The sea air here is remarkable. And beyond the porch lays a gated courtyard for BBQ’s and other private-use enjoyment. Past the gate is a fire bowl for campfire-style entertainment during summer-season…toasted marshmallows, anyone?
There’s no shortage of free, convenient street parking. The corner bus provides a 10-minute ride to Downtown, leaving every 20 minutes. Alki Beach and Fauntleroy Ferry are both 7-minute rides. Our location is only blocks to the California Junction and Farmer’s Market. With a walk to Morgan Street Junction shopping, drug store, convenience store, library, golf course, parks and church.

The Retreat at Ravenna Guest House is nestled within the friendly Roosevelt neighborhood located just a short drive to the freeway, allowing for convenient access to the airport (25 min.), downtown Seattle (10 min.), and many other neighborhoods. With 6 bus lines nearby, it is incredibly easy to use public transportation around the city and to and from the airport. Enjoy short walks to the University District Farmer’s Market, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Greenlake, and a variety of restaurants - including brew pubs, coffee shops, family-friendly and fine dining.
This updated, and well-equiped, 1100 sq ft basement apartment has its own keyless Entry, just 8 steps down from the backyard patio (see photos). There are daylight windows in the Living Room, Kitchen and Dining area, and both Bedrooms. Being downstairs means that the bedrooms are refreshingly comfortable even on the hottest days. Yet with its own gas furnace and thermostat, you are easily able to control the heat year-round.
The unit features its own Laundry room with a stacked Washer/Dryer.
The Retreat offers 2 spacious bedrooms and a 3/4 bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds, all complete with bedding including sheets and comforters. There are large closets with closet organizers in each bedroom. Please note that there is one step up into each bedroom, resulting in a height of 76 inches in the bedrooms only. The rest of the apt is full height.
We’ve focused on offering you the comforts of home with quality beds and pillows, and cotton towels and sheets. So plan on a good night’s sleep here!
The full-sized Kitchen is ready and equipped for your stay, with lots of counter space, a double sink and gas range. The large Dining area seats 6 and is adjacent to the Kitchen, separated by an Eating Bar. This is always the heart of activity in the apartment.
Relax in the Living Room - sit back and enjoy a movie on the flat-screen TV or curl up with a good book.
The patio is available at all times. Morning coffee, afternoon tea, an outdoor meal, a glass of wine - you will find this to be an inviting space.
Ravenna Guest House consists of two short-term rentals plus a traditionally rented upstairs apartment.
