Lovely furnished in-law studio in Sausalito is at street level with private entrance/parking/wall to wall carpeting/Hi-definition TV/wireless/very comfy double size Murphy bed/fireplace/kitchenette/handicap rail in bath/shower. Small deck and acce …
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this location to other travelers. The owner was very helpful to us during our vacation, and we loved being able to walk to downtown Sausalito from her rental. The pictures definitely reflect the apartment's appearance, and we found it very well maintained. Our only recommendation would be that the apartment needs a coffee pot.
My husband and I traveled to San Francisco for our niece’s wedding. As much as I enjoyed visiting the city I am glad we stayed at Marsha’s in Sausalito. The studio apartment is just as it appears on VRBO. It is a perfect refuge from the city pace and the deck and lovely gardens are inviting if the weather allows. The fireplace adds warmth and ambiance and we needed it during the August evenings. We were able to park our car in her driveway and the apartment entrance has easy access just steps away. Downtown Sausalito is lovely and Marsha left a list of dining suggestions that helped us find some good eats. It is close to Muir Woods, Marin Trails and Napa and Sonoma Valley. If you are looking for a weekend getaway or a longer stay this rental can’t be beat and the price is right! The owner clearly loves to travel herself and looks forward to meeting her guests and ensuring that they enjoy their stay.
We spent four nights in the studio & while it is compact Marsha has thought of everything you could need, very clean & comfortable bed, easy access to a good internet service, small cooker & fridge with a sea view from the balcony, we loved the location & will plan to use the studio again on any future trips to San Francisco
My husband and I traveled to Sausalito, CA for vacation as we wanted to experience the best of Northern California beaches, sunsets, PCH, hiking, glorious views of the golden gate, and the nightime skyline of San Fran off the bay. Sausalito is beautiful! Safe and quiet in our private quarters when we were relaxing or getting ready to go out again. Owner is very kind and accomodating; has 2 sweet dogs too. Would love to visit Sausalito again one day and would definitely stay here and also recommend this studio to friends!
Marsha's bottom level studio space was the perfect complement to my trip. It was close enough to downtown to walk, but far enough to feel extremely removed from the busy life. When you approach the entrance of the studio, as soon as you walk around the side of the structure you feel you are lost in a forever wild borderland. There is a terraced garden in the back and fenced off, but you can’t tell, separating you from the actual wild life. I saw several deer and baby deer looking our my large sliding glass windows. The interior was warm when it needed to be with a gas fireplace and cool during the few hours in the afternoon when I opened the sliding glass doors. Clean, safe and with beautiful views right from the corner desk perfect for a laptop and mouse. I would return!
I highly recommend this rental property! I loved the location and the studio apartment was everything and much more than we expected. Throughout our stay the property owner made us feel welcome which made our trip even more memorable. If you are looking for a private mountain retreat in Sausalito overlooking the bay then this is the place for you!
This studio is a perfect place to stay. Easy access to San Francisco, Mill Valley, and the Marin Trails. Quiet and peaceful setting with gorgeous views, private entrance, lovely outdoor area, grill, and owner on-site who is familiar with the area and very helpful. Extremely comfortable bed, kitchenette, sitting room with desk, and fireplace makes for an excellent home away from home.
This is a hidden gem in the hills!!! We found this place to be cozy for two to share with a very comfy bed, nice gas fireplace and sliding glass windows that open up over a lovely terraced yard that looks at the peak of Mt Tam and from which you can see Richardson Bay through the trees. Mini kitchen came in handy. In close proximity to San Francisco and within striking distance of Sonoma. Very comfortable and quiet. Private separate entrance. Easy parking. We recommend it highly and can't wait to come back up!
Wow. Between the view, the location (nestled in the woods, yet quick access to downtown Sausalito and 5 minutes to the city), the owner and the quality - this rental cannot be beat. I was fortunate enough to stay here for an extended stay and it was an experience I will never forget. The space was quiet, but not to the point where I ever felt isolated, the owner was so helpful in all ways. I highly recommend this VRBO to anyone. Look no further!

Perfect for a couple or two friends, my home is situated in the El Cerrito hills, directly across the San Francisco Bay from the Golden Gate Bridge.
You can drive into the City in 30 - 45 minutes, or hop on BART just 5 minutes away and enjoy the ride under the Bay and in half an hour be in the heart of San Francisco. From our convenient location you are minutes from the freeway taking you to Napa and the Wine Country. It's 10 minutes drive to UC Berkeley, or to Chez Panisse and the other restaurants and shops of Berkeley's famed Gourmet Ghetto.
Enter through a wooden gate into my serene private front garden.Inspired by Oriental landscaping you can relax on the slate and redwood terracing. This is a perfect warm weather spot for sunny morning coffee, or soothing afternoon shade.
The cool tiled entry hall with its original English Art Deco Chinoiserie lantern leads into the morning room. Relax and enjoy the morning sun and views of the garden through the arched windows. The ceiling light in this room is French Art Deco and the wall lights are original to the house.
My piano is available for serious pianists.
If you enjoy entertaining then the dining room with its stylish original Art Deco table which folds out to comfortably seat 6 and the Italian dining chairs will serve you well..
Asian antiques and fine English and American artwork complement the mood.
The kitchen features a gas stovetop with convection oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and - as I enjoy cooking and entertaining - every convenience and appliance you could wish for.
Now enter the living room with a wall of windows framing the San Francisco Bay. A bistro table with chairs provides an ideal spot for breakfast or any casual meal.
Comfortable seating, large screen TV, DVD and DVR plus a gas flamed fireplace mean that summer and winter you can enjoy magnificent views or the best in entertainment from the comfort of your own space.
The house has two bedrooms separated by a bathroom. As I have fitted out the second bedroom as an office with a murphy bed, I limit guests to a maximum of two people.
