The Jukebox House with Panoramic Ocean View Sleep 10 , Parking Avail Jul 8-10
Beautiful 5 bedrooms. Two and half bathroom house located in Golden Gate Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. This over 2000 square foot fully detached 1937 charming Single family home offers panoramic ocean views from living room and dining roo …
Great location, quiet, yet handy for getting about San Francisco. Not far to the N line on Judah - the quickest way was via 149 steps further up 16th, good exercise for your calf muscles. Sometimes we got the 66 bus, especially on the way back - it connects with the N line at 9th & Judah, and stops virtually outside the house. We also used the 28 bus which goes up 19th Avenue towards Golden Gate Bridge & Fort Mason. Public transport in San Francisco is so cheap.
The house was comfortable and suited our needs. The key box on the door was a good idea - we came and went at different times and didn't need to worry about who had the key, or losing the key. The layout of the rooms downstairs might seem a bit strange - 2 interconnecting bedrooms at the back (1 with ensuite shower), but without a door to separate them, and at the front the garage used as a storage area for jukeboxes, with a 3rd bedroom and another toilet off it. It worked for us, as our teenage son and his friend used the downstairs, and it meant we were out of each other's way.
The upstairs, where the other 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, dining room & living room are, was lovely - it was nice to put the jukebox in the living room on and have lights and music. The view from the living room is fantastic, if you are lucky with the weather. We stayed at the beginning of April, and the first few days started off misty, but then one morning it was clear and sunny and the view was great.
The 2 upstairs bedrooms were very nice, and with such comfy beds, you definitely got a good night's sleep. I think the kitchen cupboards looked a bit worn, but everything you needed was there, with all sorts of bits and pieces provided (spices etc), as well as a load of coffee, which we loved, and a crusty loaf of bread. The fridge was stocked with bits and pieces too, and Julie left a huge bottle of milk for us. We really appreciated this - when you stay in holiday homes in England and Europe, you normally find nothing left in the kitchen, and you have to buy all sorts of things you barely use - cooking oil, washing up liquid etc - which you then end up leaving behind, and you know very well the next people to stay will have to do the same. So it was very useful to find all these things in the kitchen. There is a big Andronico's on Irving, not too far to walk, and a Roxie Deli on Kirkham & 9th.
Julie was very helpful with everything, and she was also very quick to refund our deposit. Definitely recommended!
We had a great time here at this house for our little girl's week. I came here with five other girlfriends for the the weekend and loved the views with the balcony. All the rooms were quite spacious and very clean. Everything was where was easy to find and the owner of the property is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this home to friends and I will come back again!
The living room views were unbelievable. The house was spacious for our group of 9. It is obvious that the owner has a love for Jukeboxes and it was really neat to see all of them in the house. We turned the one on in the living room and listened as we ate dinner on a few occasions . Great house in a quiet location that was a 15 min drive to nearly every attraction. We will be back!
This home is lovely. The views are fabulous and the amenities in good working order.
I couldn't find a kettle but really, it's a very pleasant place to stay and if you have a large party it will fit them all comfortably.
Julie was easy to deal with and I got my security deposit returned to me as soon as we'd left. No problems.
Our rented the Jukebox house for a New Year's family vacation -- we had a great time in S.F. and the house was perfect for us. All of us truely enjoyed the beautiful views out the living room window of the Pacific ocean. The bus stop is just across the street, the number 66 route connects to the N train which will take you downtown.
The house was well furnished and the jukebox was a fun to play. Thank you
Our family had a wonderful time staying at the jukebox house for 4 nights over the Thanksgiving weekend. The owner, Julie was great to work with, answering questions, getting back to us and making it easy to rent and stay. The house is large and comfortable, nicely decorated and the view is a killer view. Parking spots were easy to find and we could easily get around to all the sites and places we wanted to see. I would highly recommend this place to stay.
The jukeboxes are definitely cool but I think that the ocean view is so spectacular that I would think the view from the living room would be the cover photo. I am not kidding you, when you open the front door you are going to be blown away by the view. There is nothing like being on the top of a hill in the city. You can see for miles on a clear day. If the view from the living room isn't enough, just walk accross the street and go up the mosiac stairs to the "grand view park". Unbelievable view of the City. You can see everything from the downtown financial district, to fisherman's wharf, golden gate park, the sunset neighborhood, and the ocean including golden gate bridge, alcatraz....basically every landmark in the City from one place. This is just one bonus of renting this house. The house is immaculate and spotless. The furniture beautiful and the host/owner Julie is lovely. You will not find a better house in the City. We have rented from VRBO all over the country, in SF, and even in mexico. This house was one of our favorites. Definitely a step above the rest and the rental rates are really reasonable for the amount of space and the view. And if you are athletic you can run the mosiac stairs accross the street. It is a great workout!
We had two couples and a family of four staying in this house. The views are gorgeous and make the living room and kitchen the place to be. The house is very clean and well-maintained. The location is convenient to everything. Great restaurants are nearby. Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, Fisherman's Wharf, and Thanh Long (our favorite restaurant) were all easily accessible. Staying in a house made it easy to coordinate when we were going, staying, etc. We had little kids and they loved it there. I'd recommend this house to anyone who's interested in staying in a convenient, comfortable, and clean setting in San Francisco with easy parking.
We comfortably fit three couples, another adult and a baby in this house while we were in town for a wedding. It was great to have a home base for all of us together while on vacation. Having a kitchen and living room and dining room to spend time in with family and friends was so nice. We all agreed that it was way better than having to sit around in someone's hotel room or scheduling times to meet at restaurants and such. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots and pans and dishes we needed to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all 8 of us.
We all loved the view and enjoyed the cool breeze blowing through the house. The jukebox was a fun addition too!
The location was great for exploring Golden Gate Park (wish I had more time to explore - great park!) and good for heading to the beach, Fisherman's Wharf, downtown, or across the Golden Gate bridge. The mosaic stairs nearby are gorgeous and the view from the top of the hill is wonderful on a clear day - you can see the whole city.
We rented cars, but didn't necessarily need to, there are a number of bus and rail lines within a few blocks. A couple of us took the bus and BART to the airport and that was very easy and worked well. Parking was also convenient at this house even though we had rented two cars, there always seemed to be places available on the street nearby.
