Sunny Pied-a-Terre on Nob Hill
Our charming, sunny, fully furnished pied-a-terre (studio) is located in the heart of Nob Hill, in a 1911 Edwardian building. Grace Cathedral, nearby Huntington Park, as well as the infamous Mark Hopkins and Fairmont Hotels are 1-3 blocks aw …
This place was absolutely perfect for what we need: Clean and well maintained.
The location is incredible. Every attraction is close enough to walk (if you are in good shape!) but the cable car and buses are right in street corner.
The owner are very nice and helpful. Thanks Kevin and Sara :)
I will recommend this place for sure!
We had an amazing time in San Fran and your place was the perfect location to see everything in the city. Being 7 months pregnant in a hilly city the access to public transportation and shops was ideal. the view from the roof top was amazing and we liked hanging out up there after a busy day. The place was the perfect size for 2 people and was very quite. We loved the city and our stay in the apartment. Thanks for all your quick responses to my emails and your directions to get to candlestick park.
The property was exactly as pictured and as described and was immaculately clean. It was charming, cozy and well-maintained. The location in the heart of Nob Hill was perfect. There were restaurants, bars, coffee shops, boutiques and grocery stores within walking distance. Kevin was a wonderful host - he was accommodating and responsive. The rooftop deck provided stunning views of the city and we never saw anyone else there - it was like our own personal deck. We would definitely stay in this property again and we would recommend this lovely place to our friends.
This pied-a-terre is cozy and warm, the forniture denotes an accurate search for the details. It is the perfect place for moving easely in the City and well connected with the airport. The area is very quite and not too far from Fisherman Warf and Embarcadero (we got around everywhere by walk).
It is perfect for a couple, but difficult to stay with children. View from the roof is amazing and last but not least Sara and Kevin are absolutely perfect hosts.
We look forward to come back.
"We wanted to thank you for our wonderful stay in San Francisco! Your pied a terre is in a great location and besides walking to Moscone for meetings, we explored Chinatown, watched some of America's Cup and truly enjoyed our visit. Thank you for being gracious and thoughtful hosts."
Set in a lovely neighbourhood, close to transport and the centre of the city. Everything you may need is available in this apartment, and Sara and Kevin made it very welcoming for us. What a lovely building!
Lots of great books and maps were also here, which gave us a great insight to the city. We would certainly recommend staying here!
"Hi Kevin and Sara, We have thoroughly enjoyed staying at your beautiful place and will
certainly be recommending it. Thank you for making our holiday so welcoming."
I stayed here while I was in town for a conference. The location is great, centrally located so I walked everywhere. If not up for walking there are buses and cabs readily available. There is a rooftop deck that is perfect for coffee/tea in the morning or a glass of wine at night.
The property was clean and cozy. The property had a lot of charm. The property owners are wonderful, very welcoming and have all the ins and outs of the city. I would definitely stay here again for either business or pleasure. Two big thumbs up.
"Kevin and Sara, Thank you so much for all of your hospitality. My stay was
wonderful. I believe I really got to enjoy San Francisco as i(t) was meant to be
enjoyed. I am very thankful that you open your home to travelers. I look
forward to staying with you again soon. Much thanks, Ashley"
This is a very cute little apartment in a great location, close to Grace Cathedral. It is definitely small, but the space is used well. My wife and I only occasionally bumped into each other when we were trying to get ready in a hurry. I wouldn't recommend this place for more than two people, but it works fine for a couple. (And anyway, you'd pay more for a hotel room this size in this area, without a kitchen.)
The owners are nice and provided a good amount of information for us. The apartment was very clean and well-maintained. The only potential problem I could see with this place would be the lack of air conditioning if you're there during a particularly hot spell, but I believe that's par for the course in the older buildings in this area.
One of the best features of this place is the roof deck. You can make yourself a quick breakfast in the kitchen and then go up to eat it on the roof with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. Quite nice.
My husband and I went to San Francisco for a conference and extended the stay for his birthday. We decided to go with this adorable apartment for several reasons: price, location and pictures, but mainly for how the owners were so lovely and attentive. From start to finish, Kevin was on top of everything regarding our stay, from making sure he knew our itinerary to what type of wine we wanted (he left us a bottle, so nice!). When we arrived, he was waiting for us and explained the nuances of his apartment, which was impeccably kept. He provided more than we needed as far as toiletries and everything was very organized. One of the greatest parts was the rooftop view. I can't express what a treat it was to be able to drink wine and have a view of the Golden Gate bridge as well as the city itself! We loved our time there and were sad to leave. We received our security deposit refund very quickly as well via PayPal. We will definitely be checking the availability of this gem in the future and will stay there if they will have us!
What a great Studio apartment in a very nice area.
Kevin and Sara we very accomodating from the moment we arrived. They provided some great advice of local resaurants and various useful aspects around the close neighbourhood.
The rooftop has a great view out over San Fran and the aparment has all the you need for a city visit.
Highly Recommend this for anyone wanting to visit San Francisco.
We stayed in this studio apartment for 3 nights and have nothing but great things to say about our experience. Correspondence with Kevin through emails up to our stay had been good and we spoke on the phone beforehand to discuss the details as well.
Kevin and Sara were very accommodating for our arrival - we weren't sure that we were going to make our connecting flight in Chicago before we left the UK as the times were tight, so had warned them beforehand and they were very understanding. Although we did actually make our connection, we were then delayed for a couple of hours but they were both still there to meet us on arrival to settle us in, with a welcome card and bottle of wine to boot.
The studio itself is in a nice, more residential location in which we felt very safe at all times of the day. That being said, it is within walking distance to Union Square (10 mins - tourist hotspot), Polk St (other restaurants / bars), there are various convenience stores nearby (one across the street) and it is one block up from California, along which one of the trolleys runs. We found the public transport in San Francisco generally very good and this location was a great base to explore everything from. We actually ended up walking from the apartment to the Golden Gate Bridge (which you can see from the roof terrace) which took a while but it was a nice walk through Nob Hill / Chinatown, down to Fisherman's Wharf and through the park to the bridge.
The studio had everything we needed - we didn't spend much time there but the kitchen was well equipped if you wanted to cook, the living and sleeping areas were perfectly ample, as was the bathroom. The studio had an older, quirky and cool feel to it, with an old style elevator in the building as well.
We were honestly so glad that we found the apartment quite late on and stayed here rather than in Union Sq or up at Fisherman's Wharf. It was really nice to be close enough to all the attractions, but to be able to escape from the tourist scene when we wanted. We would recommend the apartment to anybody (although maybe only singles/couples, as it could otherwise become crowded) and would definitely stay here again if we returned to San Francisco in the future (which we hope to, as our trip was fantastic and it is a great, diverse city).
The payment plan was also easy and security deposit returned quickly. Thank you Kevin & Sara for a great stay!
My husband and I stayed at Kevin and Sara's Pied-a-Terre at Nob Hill for three nights for a business conference in San Francisco. My conference was at the Moscone Centers and the commute couldn't have been any easier. I walked two blocks (or so) to the Fairmont Hotel where a I caught a conference shuttle. My husband spent each day traveling around the city using the city bus system (MUNI) as well as the cable cars. The location couldn't have been better. We walked and/or took cable cars to a different area for dinner each night (China Town, Financial District, North Beach, etc.) You can purchase a $27 transportation ticket at Embarcadero that will allow you to use all of MUNI's transporation sources (cable car, trolley, buses, etc.) for 7 days. This was definitely a great idea.
I can't say enough good things about Kevin and Sara. They helped us with several details such as the best way to get from the airport to the flat and were there to greet us.
We loved every aspect of the flat. The kitchen and bathroom are wonderful, clean and very well appointed. But by far our favorite place was the roof top deck each morning. I miss drinking my coffee while watching the sun come up in San Fran. Love this flat!! Will visit again in the future.
The listing description was very accurate with all amenities as described! It was a very cozy place to stay for a week--close to so many activities in San Francisco! The property was clean, the kitchen appliances to die for, the roof top escape unbelievable. It was a great romantic getaway to the city!! The sleeping arrangements were wonderful--sure would like to know where the mattress was from--it was VERY comfortable. Transportation via walking, cable car or bus was convenient. A bus pass is available at the Walgreens downtown close to the BART or at the Holiday Inn on Van Ness (short walk). San Francisco is a walking town so good walking shoes are in order. The property is close to downtown and to many activities at the Wharf, Polk Street, North Beach and Chinatown. I rented a bike on Hyde Street via the cable car for an enjoyable day of biking from San Francisco to Sausalito with easy passage back to San Francisco via a ferry. We traveled to Golden Gate Park with ease on the MUNI and were surprised to find another Chinatown area with much more cultural variety. It was a hidden gem! We also enjoyed the history of the apartment building bringing us back to another point in time. We would recommend this property to anyone who wants to engage in San Francisco city life. Favorite restaurant was the Hyde Street Seafood and Raw Bar--next to rooftop dining that is at the apartment!
