So let me begin by saying that I know SF pretty well, having grown up in the Bay Area and having ventured into the City nearly every week-end. But living near and venturing into San Francisco is not the same as being a temporary resident. This little apartment in the perfect address near all the good stuff, and all the necessary home comforts to return to each night, allowed me to realize a little ol' fantasy, with husband and children in tow, long after I moved away.
The owners are lovely, the decor is tasteful, modern and comfortable, and the views are unbeatable. This would likely be the only place we would return back to if we rent again in SF, as we have been spoiled and would compare every place else to this Apartment. Be warned, the hill is steep, but we were billy goats after a month. A definite 5 star experience.
We were lucky enough to find this apartment for our vacation to San Francisco and could not have been more pleased. The apartment was exactly as pictured and had so many extra touches. From the moment that we inquired, the owner was quick to respond and very helpful.
The location is perfect with some of the best views of the city . We did rent a car and Mark was helpful with the garage parking as well. Thank you again.
We spent the week of July 4th in this perfect apartment. The location is perfect, the place is very clean, the owner and his son are great to deal with and the apartment is stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. We love San Francisco and this place was such a delight to come "home" to.
We will definitely try and stay here again when we return.
Our first stay in a VRBO-Apartment to have a home from home with our son (4 years old). This apartment is really absolutely perfect: fabulous views (Coit Tower, Alcatraz), great location (with Bus 45), clean, lovely Welcome Basket, well presented and the owner was really helpful and kind with us. Thank you!
I traveled here with my young son (3) and wife for a race out on Alcatraz. I wanted to pick a place closer to the race site (Marina Green). Though the walk was a little bit farther to Marina Green than we expected, overall the house was amazing and in a wonderful location. We were literally 2 blocks down and 1 block over from the famous Lombard street. The home itself is on one of the steepest hills I've ever been on and was a wonderful treat for my family to walk home on it. The home was very clean and well put together, had no issues what so ever. It even has a washer and dryer which was nice. There were some amazing views as well, towards the south you could see fisherman's wharf and alcatraz, and to the east you could see Coit Tower and downtown San Francisco.
We originally were not going to rent a car but decided to last minute. The owners son was more than helpful in accommodating a parking spot for us in the garage at the bottom of the street.
All in all we had a fantastic time in this great home. The weather was amazing and I would not hesitate to rent this home again.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to rent this amazing condo. The location was ideal with an even more amazing view. It was truly remarkable to wake up to such a breathtaking view of Coit tower in one direction and Fisherman's wharf and Alcatraz in the other. The gift basket full of snacks came in handy during our visit to Muir woods. On our arrival we definitely did have some anxiety and apprehension when it came to driving down the hills of San Francisco but after a couple of days there we didn't mind it. Either way a car isn't necessary when you are that close to everything. We truly enjoyed our stay. The apartment had everything we needed plus more. We look forward to coming back to San Francisco and staying in this condo again.
We've never used VRBO before, so was a little nervous about how it all worked, but I must say it was very easy and this place is a great find! The owner was very communicative and friendly and the day we pulled up, the owner happened to be near the property, saw us arrive and even helped us carried our luggage. Very kind! Everything from the basket of goodies, the extra ammenities and well stocked kitchen were such nice touches! There is a bus stop at the top of the street which made it easy to navigate the city (and at the end of the day, an easy drop off to walk down to the property). The views are beautiful and I can't say enough about how clean the place is. And it's very close to some good Italian restaurants. I would definitely recommend this location! Thank you for a great visit!!
We have used the VRBO site many times and have never been disappointed. This feeling continues after staying in this condo. The owners have provided everything necessary for a great vacation, including gift basket items and other convenience items. The view is beautiful and the location great for those who do not have a car. You can walk to so many neighbourhoods, restaurants and grocery stores. As mentioned the walk up to the condo is a good one but this reflects the spirit of San Fransisco . We can only hope that one day we will return to this fabulous city and again stay at this condo.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It was perfect for my husband and I and two teenaged girls. The view of Alcatraz and Coit Tower was amazing! My husband said the pictures do not do it justice. The basket was much appreciated when we arrived after a long day of traveling. Even after reading previous reviews, the apartment was stocked with even more than I expected! It was also nice having a washer/dryer. The reservation process with Dave was effortless and professional and he always answered my emails promptly. San Francisco is such a beautiful city. We enjoyed every moment we were there!
Our two-week stay in San Francisco was wonderful, in no small part due to this great apartment.
The location is fantastic -- terrific views and a neighborhood that is safe, convenient to public transportation, and amazingly quiet at night considering that you're in the middle of a vibrant cosmopolitan city. The apartment itself is clean, well provisioned for all basic needs, and full of all sorts of thoughtful little touches that help make guests feel right at home, which we certainly did as soon as we entered.
Perhaps the best way to sum up our satisfaction is to say that we would not hesitate for one moment to return here and that we enthusiastically recommend this apartment to anyone visiting San Francisco.
This house is in a great location and is very well stocked with every item you will need for a trip. The decorating is very nice and modern. The views are great! The house is just a couple of blocks from the Hyde street trolley and right next to the 45 MUNI bus stop which will get to downtown very efficiently. The price has increased since we booked in December, but is still comparable to other houses in the city.
The owner is very accommodating, however I did have a complaint, though seeming minor in retrospect (I was very upset when I first arrived and when trying to leave). I am not new to San Francisco and know that parking is a nightmare. The owner assured me that there was street parking for this unit. However, parking is only available on the weekends. During the week, you require a permit for that neighborhood which the owner does not provide. We wasted several hours trying to find a location to park upon arrival and when trying to leave. This was very upsetting. I realize that most people fly, but for those who drive, please keep that in mind. There is a garage for parking several blocks away, but the charge is at least $20 a night. I ended up parking in Oakland at a BART station and riding into the city (this was ok since I didn't need the car during the week).
Also please note that while many San Francisco streets are very steep, this house is located on one of the steepest ones. I can't recommend this for people with disabilities.
