Me, my wife and our 1 year old son stayed at the apartment for two weeks. The listing description and pictures do not lie.The studio has a simple, classic style and was in good condition. The kitchen equipment was not very modern but clean and functional. You need to respect that this is a family neighborhood (not a place for late partying) but you will feel safe and get a feel for what it is like to live here. There is street parking but finding a free spot is not always easy (this was actually the only inconvenience). Margot is trustworthy and she and her family are helpful and very friendly people. It feels like we've made new friends!
Nice neighborhood. We were there for our 43rd Anniversary and had a great time. Presidio and Golden Gate Park within walking distance. Public transportation available at each end of the block. We are running enthusiasts so walking to the Presidio and the Golden Gate bridge was a fun adventure on our first day and using the bus to return. We walked to the de young art museum on another day and to the Academy of Sciences on another. While riding the bus downtown we discovered a small Fire Department Museum on the route and went and had an enjoyable time there. The Apt. was clean, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen is very small and was missing some essentials which were delivered from upstairs when we brought it to Margot's attention. The bed is a trundle that pops up and the two become a King. This takes a few minutes to set up each night and put away each morning. Bathroom is nicely appointed and adequately supplied. Only one set of towels were supplied for the week we were there. I am sure Margot would have supplied another set had we asked. Margot was very nice and let us store our luggage in the apt. as our flight arrived in the morning and check in is at 4:00 PM. She also let us leave our bags in the apt. the day we left after the checkout time so we could do some site seeing as our flight out was in the evening. We felt the price was a little high for the small size of the apt. and the kitchen facilities. In any case we had an enjoyable vacation.
This is my second stay at the studio apartment and it was just as wonderful (if not better than the first time)! It is bright, comfortable, and clean and you truly feel welcomed as soon as you walk through the doors! It's located in a very quiet and safe neighborhood; yet great shops and restaurants are just a block away. There are no problems with access to public transportation! Best of all, Margot and Jeff are awesome hosts! *I have stayed at 2 other places in the neighborhood this year and I can honestly say that my first choice will always be this studio apartment for future visits!*
This was the perfect spot to stay for two people. My boyfriend and I rented bikes nearby and were able to explore the city. It is a nice neighborhood, quiet and close to the park with some excellent restaurants in the area. The home owner was very accommodating and the apartment was spacious and clean! We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed in Margot's studio on holiday from the UK and were extremely pleased with it. The location was super: an area that is not a tourist trap, but feels local, friendly and unpretentious and quiet at night. There were several blocks of interesting and reasonably priced restaurants within 5 minutes walk. We were pleased to be near the Presidio and Golden Gate parks, and near a good bus service into the downtown areas. The studio was exactly as advertised. It's light and airy and we liked having a balcony with table and chairs outside. The kitchenette was useful for breakfasts and making snacks and sandwiches. Bathroom was great. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Margot was very friendly, flexible and easy to deal with.
We spend 5 nights in the studio, the listing description is accurate, location, layout, etc.. the studio is located between 2 very nice parks, the Presidio and the Golden Gate Park, from the studio it s easy to walk to Presidio park and it s also easy to go downton by bus. There are restaurants on Clement street just a block from the studio and also on California there is a small shopping center (grocey store, cafe and restaurants) easy to walk there. The property was clean and sunny, enough space for two persons, a small kitchen but perfect for breakfast. The owner Margott is very nice and easy to deal with from the reservations upon the arrival, she was very helplful, she gave us good instructions for coming to the studio from the airport. I would recommend this property to a friend
Great location, near downtown (about 10 mins by bus). Very clean, the owner is nice and welcoming. Perfect for a couple.
The location is great! Love Richmond for it's restaurants, culture and of course Green Apple bookstore. It's also near the Presidio, where we jogged each morning. The parking turned out to be fine. You definitely want a car, but it isn't absolutely necessary. The place is really clean and Margot is very responsive. The only gripe I had was the bed. It wasn't the most comfortable of setups. It opens to a king but kind of separates it's occupants. That being said I would not let that stop me from returning.
I highly recommend this charming apartment! I stayed here with my 2 little girls and it was perfect. I then extended my stay with just my husband for a little couples get-away. The apartment was clean and spacious, especially for a studio. The location was very convenient. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance. Parking was not an issue. I was able to find a space within a block or two of the apartment. Sometimes I would have to drive around the block, but it wasn't bad, even right after the workday (after 5:00). The owners are lovely. They live upstairs and are very respectful and careful in regards to noise. We didn't have any problems. We look forward to staying here again!
I would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting San Francisco. It is in a safe and quiet neighborhood close to public transit with free public parking nearby. You can easily walk to Golden Gate Park and the Golden Gate Bridge and there are great restaurants and pubs in the area. Much better than staying at a hotel in the hectic downtown area! The place was extremely clean and Margot is a great hostess!
We stayed in the appartment for two weeks in April. It is a very well maintained and clean place in a quiet street. The appartment has a separate entrance which is very comfortable as you don't have to go into the owner's house. You find a lot of nice and good resraurants, cafés and supermarkets within a few Minutes' walk in Clement St. and California St. Bus stops are nearby so that you can easily get into every direction of the town. Mountain Lake Park and Presidio with lots of trails are only a few blocks away. A short bus ride takes you to the long beach or to Golden Gate Park. This is a great place for a great vacation. As described "sunny, charming garden apartment - convenient location"....we were not disappointed at all! An extremely clean and cosy studio apartment greeted us after our nearly 20 hour flight from Singapore to San Francisco. There are plenty of great dining options nearby - Filmore street and Clement Street. We were so delighted to find out that the second Chinatown of SF was just a few minutes' walk away. There, we discovered a few great chinese bakeries and dim sum places. For the avid runners, I did an 8 mile run into the Golden Gate Park, all the way to the beach. Highly recommended place to stay - we will go back to stay if we vacation in SF again!
This quaint studio apartment is in a nice, quiet (for a city) neighborhood that has a great vibe and is central to much of SF's major attractions. It was clean, had great water pressure in the shower, and the bed was comfortable. It was like having a hotel suite without the added cost of wireless and parking, and being able to fix your own meals. I was in town for the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon, and it was a perfect base for me. I was able to cycle down to the Presidio quite easily (~2 miles), as well as run in Presidio Park right up the block. Auto parking can be an adventure, but most of the time I found a spot fairly quickly within a block. Such is SF. Margo is great to deal with, very honest and she provided excellent communication before and during the rental. She was a pleasure to meet in person. I would rent from her again in a heartbeat, and will surely recommend to my family and friends.

The studio is very spacious and clean to the point of being pristine. It feels like a home away from home, to be sure, and is located very close to great restaurants and an amazing independent bookstore (Green Apple Books) for enthusiastic browsers/bookworms. Parking is San Fransisco parking, i.e. get your parking karma on and all will be well. If you're prepared to walk several blocks, you'll be able to swing it with no problems whatsoever. I didn't use public transport, though the studio appeared to be well connected and Margot can rattle off the bus lines that stop nearby if you need. Otherwise, hop onto the Internet connection and find out for yourself! The only drawback was that it was sometimes somewhat noisy from the family living upstairs, but aside from that, I had a wonderful stay. Thanks again, Margot!
This is a great studio apartment in a fantastic neighborhood (Inner Richmond) and I highly recommend staying here for your visit to SF. The apt: Very clean and cozy The bathroom is spacious and the water pressure is excellent Lots of storage space for clothes, suitcases Two twin beds that can be pushed together so this space is great for couples, friends, or single travelers Cute kitchenette for basic cooking needs Wifi worked well The neighborhood: Lots of coffee shops and restaurants within a few blocks Very close to public transport Beautiful walkable area
