Stunning and Serene Victorian Designer Garden Home in Coveted Castro Location

    San Francisco

Gorgeous and tranquil top of the line 2BD/1BA designer renovated Victorian flat in Castro. A unique property that offers a truly unforgettable experience. Perfectly situated between Dolores Park and Castro street. Convenient location in a very qui …

I have stayed here 3 times so far. Property is gorgeous, clean and in ideal neighborhood. Owner is awesome! I would highly recommend. I hope to stay here everytime i'm in the city.
I spent 10 days with my wife and my two grown-up children at Ron's lovely Victorian in the Castro. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed and the garden/terrace is beautiful and filled with colorful plants. The street is very quiet, so that we slept undisturbed by street noise. Still the house is very centrally located and an ideal basis for exploring the Castro/Dolores/Valencia/Mission neighborhoods with their many hip restaurants, bars and cafes (e.g. the "Tartine") by foot. We can recommend the place and are looking forward to spending some days there on our next trip to California.
We stayed here for a week. It was great. Excellent location (in Castro, close to the Mission District, easy to get downtown on the F line), lots of room for our family of 3 (mom, dad, 10 year old boy). The apartment was beautiful and the patio was very peaceful. Highly recommended.
      We love this gorgeous place.
We really enjoyed staying here. The home was beautifully done. The garden was so nice. The location was near food and transportation. The neighborhood was quiet at night and the home was fully stocked with everything needed for a long stay. The only thing we didn't really know about before visiting was how the on street parking worked. I guess there is a pass you can get so that you can park in the same spot for more than 2 hours during the day time. This place is perfect if you don't have a car. If you do have a car, maybe do a little research on parking pass. Other then that, everything was great! Thanks!
We (me, my husband and our 4 year old) had a lovely stay at Chateau Castro. It was a great space and the location can't be beat. The back deck is a gem and it was a great place to unwind under the cherry blossoms- especially when winter has continued to linger for way too long up here in Canada this year. We would definitely stay there again. J and S
This truly is an exceptional property. The photos do not give any idea of the 'wow' when you first enter the apartment. Stunning polished floors, high ceilings, huge windows with sunlight pouring through and a bed fit for a king in the main bedroom. It was immaculate. Our initial communications with the owner were a bit slow but once we were booked all the arrangements went really well. We self checked in and Ron was able to answer any questions we had. It is in a fabulous street where everyone seems to take pride in their properties and tend the flowers on the sidewalk. It is quiet and residential but the Castro is a few steps away and offered great restaurants and shops. It also felt very safe to walk around even at night, there is a strong feeling of community. The apartment is well located for the transport, we used the historic F line nearly every day and the subway at Castro. I only had two tiny niggles, nowhere to hang wet towels, so we ended up hanging them over the stunning carved bannisters and no bed side lights.
The house was clean and well maintained and the bed was super comfortable. The living area was filled with beautiful sunlight the whole day. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to cook dinner - which was handy for us as we had our baby with us and we couldn't go out and enjoy all of the local restaurants in the evening! We enjoyed exploring the Castro and Mission neighbourhoods. My husband had to travel into Market Street each morning for work and it only took him about 15 minutes to get into work! It was fantastic to have Dolores Park at the end of the street. There were a lot of stairs leading up to the apartment - I think 30 in total so I wouldn't recommend a stay here with really young children.
Chateau Castro is on our "must return" list. Filled with light with a beautiful deck garden, this lovely, quiet apartment just a few blocks away from the lively Castro. It was a pleasure to come "home" to make dinner in a well equipped kitchen (with a fabulous stove top oven) and lounge in the living room with a glass of wine. The manager was prompt and helpful, the apartment very clean, and all the linens fresh. Highly recommended!
Had a lovely stay in this exceptional property; beautifully decorated, well-appointed and immaculately clean. The backyard has a tranquil deck with comfortable seating and the scent of jasmine plants is delightful. Location is on a quiet/safe street in Castro close to everything-shops, cafes, yoga, night-life and public transportation. Check-in/check out was seamless. Stayed over thanksgiving with my two older daughters and will be back!
This place is both elegant and lovely, and yet it feels like home. This was our second stay here, and it was better than ever.
We stayed two weeks in this truly amazing place. Quiet yet near everything you need. Lots os space and very comfortable bed in master bedroom. Will try to stay there again next time. Patricia, Switzerland
Beautiful flat, exactly as pictured on web page. Stunning garden with fragrant jasmine and roses... a wonderful place to unwind after a busy day. Quiet neighborhood within wailking distance of muni, restaurants and bars. Can't wait to go back. Manager met us on time, very helpful.
We have spend two relaxing weeks in this beautiful decorated home. The location is perfect and next to Castro and Dolores in a very cosy and quiet street. Shops are near. The domicile is huge, there is a lot of space, you can easily stay with three people and you will find everything you will need - even for a long-term stay. The most beatutiful area is the garden-patio. I would choose this place again and can recommend it to anyone. MdV, Berlin/Germany
