Secluded, Pacific Heights Pied-a-Terre Near Fillmore Shops
This newly decorated, Pacific Heights apartment is located on a flat block in the heart of shops and parks in the center of San Francisco. It is brightly lit and features a full kitchen and bath with new appliances.
Situated in a spacious re-mod …
We enjoyed our stay at this Pacific Heights apartment. It is in a great location and easy to walk to coffee or to Fillmore shops. It was clean and neat with a very comfortable bed. The only way that I would comment negatively at all and this really is so minor but the unit had left over items in the shower from other guests or the owner that sort of made you feel like you were in someone else's house rather than a vacation rental. The owner did stop by to drop off some soap for the bathroom which was nice.
My husband and I loved our stay here. The apartment was very clean, beautifully and tastefully decorated and well-represented by the photos online. Very comfy and plenty of space for two people. It is situated within walking distance of almost anything you'd need: grocery stores, restaurants, pubs are all easily accessible and for anything farther away the MUNI stop is just down the street. MUNI runs so frequently that it was a great way for us to get around and sightsee. Specifically I'd recommend Sweet Maple for breakfast, Pizzeria Delfina for dinner, Trader Joe's for groceries and Lion Pub for cocktails. Super cute neighborhood that is not too touristy at all yet still close and convenient to just about everything you'd want to do. Highly recommend!
My mom and I visited San Francisco for 5 days and this apartment proved to be an excellent location for us. We were looking for something less "touristy" and more of a real city experience and it delivered. Centrally located within walking distance to some awesome restaurants; recommend Delfina's (best pizza EVER!), La Mediterranee (Greek, Mediterranee) and La Boulange (breakfast). The unit is located on and in between major bus routes that made transportation incredibly accessible (we used bus, more than cabs). Saying that, we didn't sit outside because the road was super busy, hence super loud, yet the noise wasn't a problem on the inside.
The unit was ok. It was dark, only one big window overlooking front deck. It was perfect for two people, provided all the amenities promised. The big problem with the unit was pet hair! The advert stated "no pets allowed" so we were surprised this was an issue. We both are sensitive to pet dander and reacted to it. The couch was covered, as was the carpets. We weren't able to sit on the couch because our allergies were so bad. The windows had obvious signs of a dog's nose residual at the window. Brooke was great to work with and was very co-operative and provided us a vacuum to remove some of the hair, but it was not effective and we woke in the morning with our allergies even worse. Brooke offered to have someone come in to clean, but we were leaving the next day said it was not beneficial to us or her. We did not allow this to impact our holiday, as we spent a lot of time outside the unit; yet, after a busy day we looked forward to sitting and unwinding. We couldn't do that on the couch; therefore, we spent a lot of time on the bed (which could be deemed not a bad thing :) Also, her house cleaner accessed the unit without us knowing and removed our fruit thinking it was to be thrown out. We talked with Brooke about it and she apologized as there was a misunderstanding with her cleaner and the food was returned in the am. The next day when we arrived home one of the blankets on the couch was gone. Would we stay again? Probably not. Saying that, if you are not affected by pet dander and don't mind someone coming into the unit when not there, this is an ideal unit for you.
This place is very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The refrigerator and cupboards had food and condiments in it, which I assume the owner leaves for their use. The apartment is on the ground level, but was quiet. We didn't have any street noise or noise form the unit above. The location is great -- it is situated equidistant from Fillmore and Divisadero and an easy walk to both. For breakfast and lunch, I recommend La Boulange and The Grove, both on Fillmore. Alta Vista park, a short uphill walk away, is great for kids and has amazing views of the city, hence the name. The neighborhood has a 2 hour paring limit, so plan accordingly if you have a car. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
We had an excellent time! The apartment was just perfect - very comfortable, met all of our needs, in walking distance to public transportation which was very easy to use, walking distance to morning coffee shops and wonderful restaurants. The owner was extremely helpful when I contacted her by phone the night of our arrival to assist us in getting from the airport to the apartment. We had never been to the area and didn't know how to use the BART transportation system. I called her and she was very helpful. We really appreciated it. The area the apartment was in was great and we would definitely stay there again.
My wife and I visited San Francisco for 5 days and this apartment proved to be an excellent location for us. Centrally located within walking distance to two restaurant districts and easy access to the Muni system, the location could not have been better for us.
The apartment is clean and spacious with plenty of amenities. Unlike some of the other VRBO properties I've rented that were used solely for rentals, I think this is actually someones apartment, but it was immaculately cleaned. This wasn't a problem for us (and is really what VRBO was designed for), but it is worth knowing beforehand.
Next time we come back to San Fran this place will definitely be on our list.
All we can say is WOW.
We have been on trips to New York, Portland, and many to San Francisco in our young marriage. This was the first time doing the non-hotel route for lodging and it was the best vacation lodging EXPIERENCE we have had BY FAR. We were looking for something less "touristy" and more of a real city expierence... And it delivered. Pacific Heights is one of the best real San Fran neighborhoods and this property is right at it. The location was what appealed to us and it only got better after our interest email. Brooke was amazing to work with and accommodating in helping us make this trip happen. The apartment was cleaned to perfection ready exactly when we were promised. The location was incredible and it being just blocks from the best pizza on earth (Pizzeria Delfina) was just icing on the cake. Honestly, if you we're to ask us if we would stay here again, we would answer, is anything else an option.
Thank you Brooke for helping make this an amazing 1 year wedding anniversary.. We are hoping this is the first stay of many.
Our family stay at the property worked relative to layout and location. Amenities and fundamentals were all good. Unit was unusually familiar as it was obviously regularly occupied by owner or owner family. Downside was typical of most basement Victorian home. Sound transmits and our stay to visit grandchildren was marred by all night partiers upstairs 2 of 7 nights. Owner was non-resident and out of town leaving us to fend for ourselves with the inconsiderate adults above. We chose to flee to hotel two nights. Owner did provide a stipend with deposit return to cover pain and aggravation. Our tip to renters in SF, rent upstairs units when you can. Or call 911 when you need to.
A truly perfect place for short or long stays in the Bay Area. I was there for ten days and didn't have one uncomfortable or challenging moment in the apartment. Close to Fillmore and Divisadero Streets, both packed with restaurants, cafes, and shops, and also to the wonderful Japantown, the location is ideal. Highly recommended.
We stayed in this beautiful rental for our second anniversary and had the BEST time! This was the perfect location for us as it was close to Fillmore Street and was super convenient to the bus lines so we could explore the city! We would recommend this to anyone staying in San Francisco! We will certainly stay here again when we go back!
My husband and I spent a week in this apartment for our 10th anniversary. It was a lovely place for us to rest and relax after very long days of sight seeing. The location was perfect, not too close to the hubbub of downtown or touristy areas, but with excellent transit access. I highly recommend the MUNI passes for a visit to San Francisco.
The apartment was very clean and well equipped. We very much enjoyed our breakfasts on the front patio. We were fortunate to meet our hostess, who was a pleasure to deal with.
This apartment comes very well recommended.
My wife and I stayed for 5 nights here with our college age daughter over spring break (and our 3 pound chihuahua). Unit is just as it appears in the photos and is a wonderful location in SF. Pacific Heights is a great neighborhood and it's just a few blocks walk to the Fillmore restaurants/shops - we ate out every night at a great place. Brooke was great - very easy to work and very accommodating to some special requests we have. I highly recommend this place
