I love the Mission Treehouse! Clean, comfortable and fully stocked with everything you need to make yourself at home. Personally, I enjoyed the proximity of the Mission Treehouse to everywhere I wanted to go. If you're fit and prefer to walk rather than use public transport or a car, this is a perfect spot. The house is just a short walk away from a multitude of coffee shops, a Safeway grocery store, an organic market, great bars and the fabulous restaurant Flour + Water. I enjoyed that the kitchen was stocked with every item I could ever want/need to cook dinner. I loved the free wi-fi and cable with On-Demand, and it was really convenient to have a washer/dryer too. About the stairs, if you've got ailing knees etc...or if you're traveling with young children I think you should probably pass on the Treehouse. I'm 25 and I didn't mind climbing the stairs or the ladder to get to my bed. I think in 5 years I might not feel the same about the ladder, but as for now the kid inside of me thought it was "SO COOL!". About the garage- we could not fit our sedan into it which relegated us to street parking, and was kind of a chore with all the rules about street cleaning etc. I recommend a compact car if you want to use the garage. Above all the Mission Treehouse is a great place to stay. It's hosted by some very nice and thoughtful people that take great care to ensure all guests enjoy their stay.
Home invasion. Feces smeared on house. Met my sister for a girls' weekend. Stayed in the home only one night after experiencing a frightening home invasion while we were asleep in bed & then experienced the added trauma of finding feces smeared on the front door the following night. The home invader walked up three stories to the sleeping 'loft'. The home invader took travel bag loaded with valuables: apple macbook, fine jewelry, meds, rx sunglasses. Total loss: $10,000. SF police report filed; police called this a 'hot prowl' (burglary with occupants at home). Homeowner has denied any responsibility & refused to submit the loss to his homeowner's insurance policy. Also refused to refund pre-paid lodging.

The appointments were excellent and the kitchen exceptionally well-equipped. Lots of light. Two negatives: not suitable for toddlers (open staircases) and the isn't a really great space for five or six people to hang out apart from the dining area. We liked it.
Three of us stayed here - a dad and two young adult children. We were in town to enjoy ourselves, and to get to know SF before my son moved there for college. We were lucky to find the Mission Treehouse! The place is lovely - well appointed with comfortable furniture and everything one might need. The multiple levels also worked well for us - room for each person to have their own space for hanging out and sleeping. The place is in a generally quiet part of the neighborhood, but close to great coffee shops (I'd recommend the Coffee Bar, 2 blocks away), restaurants, groceries, etc. We got along quite well without a car - we walked, rode the bus and BART, and used cabs at night. The Mission is a great place to explore...and A'lan and Sara are wonderful hosts! We will definitely be back.
A'lan and Sara are wonderful hosts and their Mission Treehouse is truly one of a kind! The house is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you need to make you feel right at home. Also, the location is great because you are in close walking distance to many restaurants and shops. If you are in SF, I would definitely recommend staying at A'lan and Sara's Mission Treehouse--You'll love it!
Staying at the Treehouse was wonderful and I will certainly be back. It is a lovely comfortable home, great space, great feel and fit us perfectly. The location was fantastic.
My family and I found the Mission Treehouse on VRBO and tried to book at once. We stayed 3 nights and could not be happier that we did. We have 2 girls, 8 and 12. We did not want to show them pictures of the house ahead of time so they could not have any expectations. What awaited them was more than they even dreamed. Our girls ran through the house pointing out the artwork, the stairs leading to floor after floor (we live in a ranch), the living room, the deck, and then they found the treehouse! Both girls had huge smiles spread across their faces and were overcome with joy. They climbed right up and began to play. Our youngest stopped to ask if she could sleep up there and was delighted to find out it was their "tree room." She immediately climbed down the ladder to gather her belongings only to take them right back up and set up her space! They spent there evenings in the Treehouse playing and giggling. As parents, we could not have been happier with the Mission Treehouse. Our kids were beside themselves and we had all the comforts we could dream of. Our room was gorgeous and spacious. The linens were brand new and of the finest quality. The kitchen was stocked with all the basics for food, dishes, and cookware. There were free movies to watch and a game system with games. The location is perfect for an adventurer. We walked around the Mission district and ate breakfast at Tartine. There were great shops to venture into and beautiful murals all around to peek our interest. There is something nearby for people of any age. Our entire family had an amazing trip to San Fran and cannot wait to return. We hope to return in the next year and will be staying at the Mission Treehouse without a doubt! The owners were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you Mission Treehouse for all the memories... I hope your family has the chance to experience the Treehouse too!
