Luxury Studio in the Heart of Historic Old San Francisco
Newly renovated, quiet, secure, fully furnished luxury studio. Located in a recently restored and registered historical city landmark on New Montgomery Street (between Market Street and Mission Street).. This stunning 1914 building underwent a to …
It was a pleasure dealing with the owners, Jonathan and Gail. They were easy to get ahold of and they contacted us upon our arrival to make sure everything was okay. This studio is well-decorated and right in the heart of all the action. We walked or took public transportation every where. We will definately stay here again when visiting San Francisco. I highly recommend a trip to Muir Woods.
We recommend Tres (Agaves) on Stanton and Brenda's for cajun soul food on Turk/Polk.
We were within easy walking distance to our seminar and Tres and were easily able to get to Brendas. Also made the Great American Music Hall on O'Farrell and the Fillmore on Geary for great music.
The condo was nicely furnished, clean w/good hot water and a comfortable bed.
Jonathan and Gayle really know how to take care of their guests! Pictures and descriptions cannot explain how nice this place is, either. The location was perfect for the Moscone Center, but it is also just a good central starting point for seeing the city. The rooftop terrace is not to be missed! We will be back next year, and are excited to be staying here again!!!
We booked from New Zealand having only the vaguest understanding of SF's geography and standards so went on basis of prior reviews and weren't disappointed. On the pricey side for our dollar but lived up to it's description. It was a great location to base ourselves and discover San Francisco by foot, bike and the Muni. Also with BART stations close by to & from the airport was a breeze.
In the past, we have often stayed in the lower Nob Hill area so this was the first time we rented a place south of Market. The location is perfect, easy walking distance to all the major retail outlets, art galleries, restaurants and parks. The studio is well laid out and very comfortable. While it wasn't quite warm enough to use the rooftop terrace, it is a great amenity with BBQ facilities and lounge chairs. We are planning on staying here again on our next trip to SF.
Jonathan and Gayle are superb hosts and have created the perfect place to LIVE in San Fran. Take a trip to Whole Foods and plan to grill on the roof terrace; be warmed by the morning sun and watch the new MOMA unfold. You won't be disappointed...except so many repeat guests quickly fill the calendar!
I stayed for five nights for the second time, while attending a conference at Moscone Center. What a wonderful location and such a comfortable and cozy place! The owners are very attentive to my needs, making sure via phone or email that my needs are met upon check-in. It's such a reasonable price for this excellent area, I couldn't ask for anything more.
My wife and I stayed in this studio before, and will, I'm sure, do so again in the future. The building is 1 downhill block from Montgomery Street BART station, so the transfer from the airport is always seamless. It's close to the convention center, the Marriott, the Ferry Building, the ferries, Whole Foods, all the public transport you could want on Market Street, and innumerable great restaurants. Unique among VRBO listings, the unit sports a fully equipped, functional kitchen that you can actually cook in. The rooftop patio allows you to entertain if you so choose. The unit is very comfortable and quiet. We recommend it without reservation.
Excellent location in the heart of the SF Financial Center. The apartment is very modern, quiet, and spacious. A leisurely 10-15 minute walk to either Union Square or the Ferry Building. Numerous restaurants and bars in any direction. Riding the cable cars to the Buena Vista was fun. We will definitely return for another visit!!
Very conveniently located for the Moscone Convention Center and easy access to a number of restaurants within walking distance. Did not need a car at all during our stay. Enjoyed walks to the Embarcadero and Chinatown, not to mention the shopping district.
Gayle and Jonathan were great.
The property is small, but well appointed.
If I had to make one suggestion for improvement, I would have liked a thicker blanket/comforter. Some nights were really chilly and it seemed a waste to run the heater high when a comforter would have sufficed.
Pictures do not do justice to the comfort included in this flat, the decor makes it a very welcoming and relaxing place to stay. The location was better than we could have imagined, a perfect home base! Less than a 5 minute walk to the bart system (which we took from/to the airport), the metro station and stop for the street cars that can take you to the piers and Fisherman's Wharf. The place was very clean, full of all amenities, and all questions were answered with the binder that the owners have created. Great shopping and restaurants within walking distance, especially The Grove - great food and great prices. Definitely would stay here again if we return to SF in the future and would recommend to any friends planning a trip to SF! The booking process was very simple and smooth as the owners are very friendly and accommodating.
Location, Location, Location! This is an ideal location for touring SF. The apartment is very clean, well stocked with everything needed, the bed is comfortable, and it is a quiet location. The roof top deck is wonderful. We will be returning to San Francisco and to this apartment. Thanks Jon and Gayle for your hospitality.
L'appartamento é moderno, molto ben rifinito e curato, pulitissimo!
The apartment was great, and the location made for easy walking to most locations within the city. Access to the BART made for nice getaways to Oakland and Berkeley. Really enjoyed having a place of our own versus a hotel lobby.
This is a great place to stay, it is right down town, close to all activities like the ball games & football games. Ecellent shopping. We finally found a shopping eporiuim on Market St. not far from the condo.
Easy travrel to the wine county. Only 1hr. away from Sonoma wine country. Walking distance to,many restraunts. Easy travel from Air Port to Montgomery St. by the Bart. Fabulious condo. Lots of room, bright & top grade appliances.
This was our 3rd visit & we going back there again.
The apartment is very secured and has al you need to be fine in SFO. Their is a Starbuck just outside the building for breakfast. The flat is clean and is very well equipped and has the best situation you could dream of.It is very good for two people, at three it is okay. Sfo is a lovely city and we enjoyed greatly our stay. The 8 th floor has a beautiful terrace and is awesome.
Thanks Jonathan and Glayds.
Lovely studio, very comfortable and well appointed. The rooftop terrace is exceptional and we were fortunate to have beautiful weather which allowed us to use it every day. The location can't be beat, easy access to public transportation. Only a 1 block walk to the BART for nonstop trip to the airport. Within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, etc. Thank you for the bottle of wine and for allowing us to stay in this fantastic, historic building. We have already recommended it to friends and family.
We were stunned by how nice the apartment and the building were. It was very comfortable and perfect for our needs. The rooftop terrace was a great asset and we made use of it every day to have a glass of wine and plan our next foray into the city.
The location is excellent and convenient to both the Hyde-Powell and California cable car lines. It was a short walk to either line. We bought the 3-day Metro Pass for $22 each and used it for close to $100 in fares. We learned quickly that the California line was less crowded with tourists and since it crosses the other line you can switch directions easily. If you take the California line to the end (Van Ness) and catch the metro buses, they take you nearly to Fort Mason or even to the Palace of Fine Arts. The cable cars will also take you up the hills to Chinatown and back down the hills to home. Take the California line to the Top of the Mark for a great view, live music and a classy experience.
Also, some of the best shopping is on nearby Market Street. We recommend taking the short walk down Market Street to the Ferry Building for Saturday's Farmers Market that offers amazing produce as well as prepared food and artist's wares. It is a short walk from there to the Pier 23 Diner with a great waterfront patio and wonderful food.
On Friday's we recommend Off the Grid at Fort Mason with 30 food trucks and booths, wine, craft beer and music. Very fun!
Our special dinner was at Anchor and Hope a few blocks away at Minna Street. You have to look for it but it is well worth the effort with wonderful food and excellent service.
Among the more mundane details, we were happy with the parking structure one block away on Jesse Street. It was $22 per day and they left the car available so we could get our luggage and other things out in a couple of trips.
Only regret? We didn't go next door to the Palace Hotel to see the Maxfield Parrish mural. Well, we will just have to plan a do-over!
Excellent place to stay - easy commute from the airport on BART for under $10/pp. Very secure building. GORGEOUS rooftop deck! Wish I knew lots of locals I could have invited up for cocktails because it was amazing up there. Flat is much bigger than pictures show it to be. Most upscale VRBO rental we have ever had for a great price too! Convenient to everything - walked all the way to Coit Tower believe it or not. Took the cable car home and had a short walk once we got off. Took the F train to the Wharf - about 10 min ride. Owners were wonderful to deal with. Only regret is I wish I had a whole week to stay in their flat!! 4 nights was not enough!! So much to do and see in San Francisco. Like another reviewer we also rented a car for a day and drove to Napa (about 1 hr drive) over the Bay Bridge, cut across to see Muir Woods (don't miss it!) and returned over the Golden Gate Bridge. Other than doing something like that, do not have a car in San Francisco - driving in the city is a pain in the neck and public transportation is great so a car is not needed. Thanks Gayle & Jonathan. I hope we get to return someday!!
An excellent location for exploring San Francisco. It is in walking distance to many attractions and handy to BART and MUNI. The studio is well appointed and has wifi. This is our second stay here.
We stayed at this flat for a week recently, and enjoyed every part of it!!
After catching the BART from SFO and getting off at Montgomery Station we walked about a block to the apartment building, and had no hassles at all getting into the unit. When you walked in, it is better than the photos show and has everything you need. The full kitchen was perfect and the bathroom was much nicer than I expected. The owners called just after we had arrived to make sure we were comfortable and answer any questions we had.
The location couldn't get any better, being a block from any public transportation you could ever need, and right in the heart of Union Square. We even walked to a Giants game one evening which took about 20 minutes each way, and was a lot easier than dealing with the crowds on public transportation. One night we parked a rental car in the Parking Garage across the street for $25 a night.
Thank you to the owners for providing such a great place at a great price, and we will definitely be back in the future!
My husband and I spent a week at this lovely apartment. It was exceptionally clean, well appointed and well maintained. The location is great too, we had many shops, restaurants and supermarkets close by, even a Starbucks on the corner, which was nice in the mornings. The roof-top garden was stunning with lovely big chairs, gas heating and great views of the city. We took our wine up there most nights when we were home. Gayle and Jonathan were wonderful hosts and made our stay easy, from the time we made the booking until we left the apartment. We would love to stay at this apartment again when we visit San Francisco.
Lovely modern flat located in the financial district of San Francisco, great location for exploring bus BART and tram lines 5 mins away and within walking distance of union square for shops SOMA for bars and china town!
I cannot say enough amazing things about this HomeAway rental, and as you can see by other reviews, I'm in good company! We arrived on a Tuesday night, and it was convenient to ride the BART from the airport to the Montgomery station (no need for a vehicle). The apartment was a short walk away, maybe 2 blocks. The property is very secure - checked in with security in the lobby and they gave us our keys to the unit. Needed the key to also access the elevator to our floor and then to get into our apartment. We felt so safe! And staying in an apartment made us feel like locals with a home in the city! We had only been inside the unit for 10 or 15 minutes when Gayle called the apartment phone to ensure that we arrived safely and that everything was to our liking. We were also gifted with some Ghiradelli chocolate and a bottle of wine! GREAT property owners! I wish we'd been able to stay longer to fully enjoy all the amenities. The terrace is beautiful but we didn't have time during the day to just sit. I also wish we would have had time to buy fresh seafood and cook it in the beautiful kitchen. Too much to see and do and we were only there for three days. A summary of our trip and our recommendations: definitely check out Super Duper Burgers on Market Street! Walk to Union Square a few blocks away to catch hop-on hop-off bus tours. Catch the F line (Muni) on Market to get to Fisherman's Wharf. If you want to drive to Muir Woods or wine country, there's an Enterprise rental office on Folsom Street - we rented a car for the day and saw Muir Woods, had lunch in Sonoma, and then toured several wineries in Napa. I'd DEFINITELY recommend this rental property to anyone!!
I stayed at mySFflat for three nights while attending a conference at the Moscone Center. The photos do not do justice to the charm and location of the flat and the Montgomery building overall--it is fabulous. The building is ideally situated next door to the Palace Hotel, a 5 minute walk from the Convention Center, with numerous coffee houses within a two block radius. The property was impeccably clean and well appointed, and I was pleasantly surprised to find an ironing board and iron in the closet. I went upstairs to check out the building's rooftop deck, and was blown away to find a beautiful outdoor setting with comfy seating, BBQ grill, bathroom, heat lamps, all perched on the 8th floor. Each morning I made a point of bringing my cup of coffee and a book upstairs to enjoy the wonderful urban setting. A problem that I typically face with downtown hotel rooms that I did not have in this property is excessive noise--it usually keeps me awake at night. The flat is well shielded from street noise and was extremely quiet with the windows closed. I felt as though I was in a secluded, special spot amidst the hustle and bustle. One final note--I did manage to keep my car in the City at a modest cost by parking in pay lots during the conference hours, then parking on Howard St (metered only from 7am to 6pm) overnight, but it's a bit of a hassle. You're better off without a car!
"My SFFlat" is a gem, a nice studio apartment just a block off Market and two blocks from the Moscone Convention Center, in a lovely, restored building with a Starbucks on the first floor. Two huge windows face south over a lovely cityscape, which includes MOMA (Museum of Modern Art). Everything is close, including the Pied Piper lounge in the Palace Hotel next door and a great Italian deli around the corner. The building is quiet, the apartment impeccable, and the owners have included absolutely everything one might need for a comfortable stay. We will be back.
We stayed in this flat for 1 week, and we loved it, clean, well maintained, always someone welcoming you at the deskfront...everything we needed was there, everything well thought. The location was very convenient too! shops, peers, restaurants... just perfect. I would recommend this rental for sure, and we 're lokking forward staying there for our next visit in SF.
