Modern Loft in the Heart of Downtown San Diego Gaslamp!
The modern, newly renovated “Quality Social Loft” is situated in the heart of the famous Gaslamp Quarter of Downtown San Diego. Gaze out from the large living room windows upon the lively urban atmosphere. Conveniently located near F Street & 6th …
We stayed in this delightful loft for 5 days in February. Pros: very large, open space, nice kitchen (although no dishwasher), super nice shower, washer/dryer IN the apartment, right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. We were in the middle of it all! 30+ restaurants within a block or two. In addition to the single bedroom which is curtained off from the main living area, two fold down couches could sleep 3 more people. But you best be very comfortable with each other, because this loft is basically one room, with a closed off bath and a 3/4 wall and curtains separating the "bedroom" from the rest of the space. There were ample linens and bedding. Large windows letting in lots of natural light. Another plus was the large open courtyard with many benches and a grill just down the hall from this unit. The entire building is secure, with a locked outer entry in additional to the locked apartment. This is important as there a quite a few homeless people everywhere downtown, and the added security is very helpful.
There is a small grocery/liquor store directly across the street and a full-service Ralphs grocery a couple blocks away. We ate our breakfasts, and had cocktails "in" and that really helped cut the overall dining bill.
The only downsides, which may not be downsides to everyone, is that is IS in the middle of a fast-paced night-spot. There is a fair amount a street noise, (frolicking people, sirens, and some boom-boom-bass noise from nearby by bars. But as my 19-year-old son who stayed with us there said "What an awesome bachelor's pad" and for once we were on his "cool" list by picking this space.
Parking is not included with the unit, although there are several nearby lots. Parking is pricey (by our Midwestern standards) but about the same as what you would pay for most hotels in the area. It would be very possible to stay down there with out a car. Ample cabs and many tourist destinations (like the Midway ship) are close by as is the airport. Longer cap trips can be expensive, so if you want to go to places like Coronado, La Jolla, or repeatedly to the beach, best to have a car.
We very much enjoyed our stay very much and recommend it, except to those who may not tolerate the hustle, bustle, and noises of the downtown lifestyle.
We stayed in this lovely Modern Loft during our visit to the San Diego Film Festival and it was exactly as described. Space for two people (one large bed and one firm but comfortable sofa bed). Clean, well equipped, modern and with a fantastic bathroom (great shower and loads of fluffy towels), this Loft was a block from everything we needed, including great public transport links to the beach, the border and airport.
This place is located in a great place if you want to enjoy the great restaurants, shopping and bars in Down Town San Diego. Its better than a hotel because you have more living space in this loft i.e. kitchen, family room, bedroom and bath. I stayed with 3 other women, and there were plenty of places to sleep because there is a full size bed, and two futons (and an air mattress) with plenty of linens. There are great outdoor places to sit outside as well in the complex. The location was close enough to 5th where all the action is, but far enough away too so it wasn't as noisy. All in all a great place, and easy to access. Highly reccommend and would stay again.
We stayed in this loft with friends and loved not only the location, but the feel and ambiance of the loft itself, and the complex it was in. I would highly suggest this to anyone!
Loved our stay! Its a perfect location. Very modern and clean, It has a hotel feel with still enough home feel to it. We loved it and almost didn't want to leave.
Owner very responsive to requests.
Had an amazing time at this property with my husband and friends! When we first opened the door we were very impressed with how beautiful and spacious this loft is. Great kitchen stocked with all the essentials, nice living room with two futons, modern batheroom with the shower tiled nicely and double sinks. An added bonus was a large flatscreen TV in livingroom and smaller one in bedroom area. LOVE the location because it's in Gaslamp and very easy to walk to everything including restaurants, the convention center, petco, and the bars. The owner is super nice and communicated great via email and all my questions were answered promptly about the loft. Next time we are in San Diego we will be staying here again! I highly reccommend this property to others especially if you want to be in the center of everything!!! Definitely a gem and way better than staying at the overpriced hotels nearby.
I had the pleasure of staying at this loft for the july 4th weekend. everything in the loft is very clean and well maintained. its the last unit so you can look out into the downtown streets through the big windows.
there are 2 sofa beds in the living room and 1 bedroom (which is covered by curtains not doors). the loft is a big smaller than i imagined but it worked out great. the location is so awesome - bar hopping couldn't have been easier! this place is a charm in the middle of downtown san diego gaslamp district!!
Cheryl was super easy to get in touch with. thank you
Awesome loft right in the center of the Gaslamp! Highly recommend!
