We have stayed in many VRBOs, in the United States and abroad, and hands-down this was the nicest property we've ever stayed in! We would absolutely recommend this home to prospective renters, including those with children (such as ourselves). It is a beautiful, charming place, both inside and out, and incredibly comfortable, well-maintained, and clean. It was actually even better than advertised, thanks to the special touches provided by the owners, such as a lovely garden and fruit trees from which to eat, top-notch towels & bedding, a wonderful and well-stocked kitchen in terms of appliances, etc. and the care the owners took to make sure we had all the information necessary to enjoy our stay, from suggestions on local restaurants, markets, and sights, to ferry schedules and hiking trail maps. The heated pool and hot tub are lovely and the house is surrounded by a nice sized yard and very private grounds thanks to the trees, bushes and fence. The owners have a wonderful sense of style & the furnishings and art are lovely. It's a great spot from which to explore not only Marin County, but also San Francisco, the East Bay and wine country to the north. We didn't want to leave and wish our stay could have been longer!
This spacious and beautifully kept family home provides the ideal base for mountain-biking adventures, moonlit hikes, gentle strolls around dreamy lakes or just a whole lot of relaxing. When we managed to get our 6- and 8-year-old daughters out of the huge, sparkly pool and the hot tub, they kept themselves busy for hours in the magical garden - on the trampoline, picking plums and apples, watching the humming birds and catching butterflies and assorted tiny creatures. The local towns are just a short drive away and are full of character, with interesting restaurants and fascinating little shops to explore. Karen and James were extremely helpful as we planned our visit, providing information about the nearby winelands and surf spots too. Wish we were going back tomorrow - and they certainly won't be able to keep us away for long!
Kids playing happily in the pool. Parents chilling out in the hot-tub. Fresh, local meat on the BBQ. A gentle breeze teasing the eucalyptus trees all around. Nightly sightings of owls in the trees, and deers roaming the local lanes.
What's not to love!
If you do manage to escape the laid-back pleasures of this house, there is a lovely local town with not an international chain-store in sight (try the ice-cream shop!!), and if you love mountain biking, or hill walking you have the added bonus of awesome trails all around.

Bed of Roses house! The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance to many restaurants and public transportation. The private home was built in 1911 and has been beautifully maintained. It offers a comfortable haven for business and holiday travelers.

The very safe and upscale neighborhood is known for many scenic walks with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean. We are situated next to the Presidio, now a National Park, and within walking distance of Golden Gate Park. Two beautiful and challenging public golf courses are less than a mile away.

As everyone knows, San Francisco was devastated by an earthquake in 1906, five years before this house was built. The city fathers like to remind us that it was the fire that followed which did most of the damage, and that planning after the earthquake has made a repeat of the fire virtually impossible. During the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake this building , which is built on solid land did not sustain any damage whatsoever.
