Tranquil Lake House near Seattle, Issaquah, Redmond
Ideally situated on the eastern side of beautiful Lake Sammamish for fabulous sunsets and a tranquil setting, the Cottage on Sammamish is a newly renovated vacation venue. You feel rested and away from the busy world. Many people say it feels you …
We needed a place for my out of town guests (from Italy) to stay for my daugher's wedding. I live in Sammamish and this "cottage" was absolutely perfect. Completely like the pictures and even better. Beautiful views of Lake Sammamish which is at your feet and a plus a lovely private garden w/sitting area. Plenty of room for 6 people. Everything was spotless, with all the necessities. It is easy to get to many of the local parks. It's a quick drive to I-90 (or 520) with Seattle only about 30 minutes away. The property is impeccably maintained. The owner is extremely helpful, so very nice, and has staff available at all times. I live in Sammamish and have thought about having my own get-away here. There's wonderful live theater in Issaquah (The Village Theater), restaurants and shopping. Be sure to go to Gilman Village in Issaquah. Quaint shops and great restaurants. This is a wonderful place to stay (home away from home). I highly recommend it.
This charming lake home was a lovely retreat for our family reunion. We all loved sitting on the dock relaxing and taking in the gorgeous Issaquah sunsets. The house was clean, well equipped, and nicely decorated. Perfect for two couples. Our host was friendly and could not have been more helpful. Thank-you so much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We will definately be back.
This was our first trip to the Seattle Washington Area and this cottage was just perfect for us. It was full of character and was a true escape (we loved going through the unique library in the basement). The location was a short drive to grocery stores (Safeway and Fred Meyer) and places to eat. Staying out of rush hour the drive into Seattle downtown was only a half hour, and take a half hour drive east and you were in Snoqualmie or Northbend. The kitchen was well stocked with nice appliances so we could eat in whenever we wanted. Even though the weather wasn't ideal during our stay the view was spectacular (especially the sunsets on clearer days) and the sound of the waves was soothing. We hope to return in the summer months so we could take advantage of the lake. Don and his family were more than welcoming, we enjoyed chatting with Don and hearing the history behind the cottage.
Great hospitality. Stunning atmosphere and view of the lake. Hope to go back soon. Thank you for great welcome.
Wife, friend and 4 girls went up early for a soccer tournament. They wanted to have a home base to explore Seattle. Cottage was perfect--too perfect. The girls were having so much fun there that they didn't want to leave to go explore Seattle.
Everything was clean and exactly as described. In summary, we couldn't be happier!
They are already talking about trying to stay here again when they go back to Seattle for the next soccer trip.
My husband and I would like to thank Don and his extended "family" for such a wonderfully relaxing stay. We were in town for a Son's wedding and Don's vacation rental was chosen for it's convenient location to the wedding venue. But after arriving it could have been miles away from the venue based on the hospitallity we experienced, the beautful location and all the amenities that made our stay so perfect. We had both local and distant family and friends stop by over the week and all were impressed by the cottage. This is not our first experience with VRBO and have this at the top of our list as a do-over if at all possible. The cottage is perfect for any kind of stay. BEAUTIFUL, BRIGHT, CLEAN AND FULL OF WARMTH AND COMFORT.
Wow, the descriptions and the pictures could not show the beauty of this cabin by the lake. Just being there made me feel relax and happy. We were in town for a convention and classes. The home was very clean and well equip. Don, Serji and Gustof were so kind and helpful. We kayaked enjoyed the hot tub. I would definitely rent this home again. Thank you for helping us have such a fantastic experience .
We enjoyed every day of our 16 days of vacation in the cottage and found it a wonderful place to stay at. Everything is as described and pictured.
* Amazing view and great location
* Clean and renovated
* Well equipped, especially the kitchen
* Close-by parking
* Don, the owner, is exceptionally welcoming and helpful.
We will come back next time we are in the Seattle area!
My family of four stayed at this cottage for what turned out to be a very rainy spring week (albeit typical) in Sammamish. However, this didn't dampen our enjoyment one bit. The house was equipped with everything you could possibly need! The kitchen has all the pots, pans and gadgets you could want and plenty of plates, bowls and serving trays as well. We grilled with friends on the BBQ, sat on the covered deck enjoying the views with an outdoor heater and were even offered use of the large outdoor Hot Tub. The owner, who lives conveniently next door, gave us complete privacy, but checked-in on us regularly, refilling the propane in the heater in a snap. One superb benefit of its location not mentioned in the VRBO description: direct access to the fabulous West Lake Sammamish trail. It's an old railroad bed that has been converted to a bike/walking path and runs adjacent to all the lovely lake homes. You might also want to bring a pair of binoculars for aquatic bird watching - those loons and seagulls are amazing fishermen!
Just up the hill from the house (5 min drive) is a large Safeway and a multitude of convenient take-away shops and restaurants. 10 mins north and you are in the middle of Redmond and the Redmond Town Centre.
We can't wait to come back and enjoy more time on the lake - but perhaps during a more mild month. ;-)
Our family enjoyed everything about our stay at this charming cottage: the owner, his family and friends, our accommodations, the lake setting complete with bald eagles catching fish in front of our deck, the nearby walking trail, New Years Eve fireworks, oh, the list is infinite. We were impressed with the convenient layout of the bedrooms, kitchen, living and dining areas and pristine condition of all. We have stayed in several other properties and, once again, were pleased with how accurate the pictures and descriptions portrayed what we experienced. A big plus for us was the proximity to Redmond and Issaquah and the freeways. This is truly a wonderful get-away.
Panoramic, gorgeous views of Lake Sammamish. The home is inviting and well-stocked. We live just a few miles away and stayed there while we had work done on our home. It felt like a vacation! The perfect lake house!
Beautiful views, day and night. Lots of windows to take it all in. The kitchen was very well stocked, and since we visited with the intention of celebrating Thanksgiving, that was crucial. Very comfortable and inviting... next time we'll visit when the weather is better. It's a special place, and we hope to return when we can enjoy the outdoors, too.
