Charming, Antique Home In The Heart Of Historic Salem
Our 1813 home is the best of both worlds; historic in character but with modern amenities. The first floor apartment's living room overlooks historic Derby Street and features period details such as wainscoting and original hardwood floors. The li …
This property was definitely up to the standard of the pictures, It was clean, warm and extremely comfortable. There were some lovely touches such as cozy blankets to cover yourself with if you were on the couch reading or watching a movie, complimentary shampoo, conditioner & shower gel, complimentary tea & coffee & a small DVD collection. We even go some delicious macaroons on arrival made by Jodi! Its the most welcoming self catering home we have stayed in to date. Perfect after our 14hrs of travelling to get there! George & Jodi were such welcoming hosts. George was extremely helpful with information and hospitality from the point of booking throughout our entire trip, he gave us information on local restaurants and attractions and information on anything we asked.
This property also is truly in the best location! It is the most lovely quiet street, you can happily get an early night if needed with little to no noise. Just the odd car driving by. It is also just a 2 minute stroll along down to the waterfront. Its not in the center of town but its only a 5-10 minute walk into the center. You can walk to all the main attractions with ease. We are delighted we booked the waterfront district and especially delighted we booked this place!
My wife, seven year old daughter and I stayed at this pretty, tidy and well equipped rental while visiting family in Salem. It was perfect for our needs and was far more comfortable and economical than a hotel. The location of the property is also very convenient to Salem amenities such as the Common, shops, restaurants, cafés and tourist attractions. George and Jodi were a pleasure to deal with and even delivered freshly baked gourmet cupcakes! Highly recommend this gem of a rental.
This was a great visit to Salem! George was extremely quick to answer all our questions before booking, super patient with all our questions after booking, and even more accommodating once we finally arrived. The house is charming, clean, and nicely appointed with everything you could possibly need. The location to shops and restaurants is absolutely perfect! Looking forward to revisiting and will certainly look to reserve with George again!
My siblings and I rented this apartment for a weekend getaway for our parents who were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. They LOVED the apartment, especially how close it was to all of the things in Salem that they wanted to do: Peabody Essex Museum, Phillips House Museum, House of Seven Gables, Red's Diner, etc. The owners couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. The added bonus is that one of the owners runs a bakery and she makes the most delicious treats!
The apartment was comfortable and very clean.
I highly recommend staying here!
The apartment was beautifully appointed and exceeded our expectations. It was spotless, well stocked with everything that we needed and in a great location. Our hosts were delightful and provided the most scrumptious scones upon our arrival. I would highly recommend this property and hope to stay there again myself in the future.
While in Salem, we had a wonderful time at the Peabody Essex Museum and recommend taking the extra tour of the historic homes. We also enjoyed a tour of the House of the Seven Gables which is very conveniently located near the apartment.
