We loved our stay here! We truly found no fault with the rental. It was perfect size and our favorite thing was the view. We spent a lot of time, even though it was chilly, out on the terrace taking in the sounds and magnificent views of St. Peter's Basilica and everything else as far as the eye could see. Sunsets were stunning! Alex was a great host and helped us with several questions we had during our two week stay. We have already recommended his rental to our friends in the UK looking for a place to stay in Rome. We were able to walk EVERYWHERE. Basically everything is in walking distance and so days are easy to fill by just walking from the flat in most directions and seeing everything you came to see...Piazza Navona where we went everyday for breakfast or to shop in the market or gelato at night and great dining everywhere around the flat within a 5 minute walk or less. Also of course the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Borghese Gardens, Spanish Steps, Travestere area, Campo Di Fiore, the Vatican, list is endless of where you can walk to in 15 minutes or less. This saved us money and again the flat was cozy and you really felt like part of Rome while staying there and the tenants in the building were also lovely. I highly suggest renting for your future stay in Rome, I know we will.
We have rented many apartments in Rome and this one is our favorite. We have booked it three different times. The location could not be better. It is steps away from Piazza Navona and Campo di Fiori, and easy walk to all the major sights and steps from a cab stand and the bus stop. While there are dozens of restaurants and bars within a five minute walk the apartment is very quiet. Our favorite part of the apartment is how clean and bright it is. While it is not large, with the floor to ceiling sliding glass doors the apartment is incredibly bright and cheerful, more than any other apartment by far. You could spend hours looking out over the rooftops of the Eternal City. We are looking forward to returning in just a few months.
My wife and I just returned from 10 fantastic nights at this property. It was the perfect retreat after a very long business year. The accommodations are first rate, cosy and comfortable for 2 people. The real gem is the location. We walked everywhere for 10 days in Rome. The only cabs we took were from and returning to the airport. There are all types of restaurants close by, from tourist types to 5 star. The location of Arcadia Apartment offers the best of everything. If you are looking for a place to call home in Rome I would highly recommend this apartment.
Attica Arcadia is the perfect place to stay in Rome for a couple. First off, the location cannot be beat. We took maybe 5 taxis during our week long trip, and only two were really necessary (when we went to Southern Rome & the Borghese Gallery). The Forum, Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, St. Peter's, Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona, and the Trevi Fountain are all within a 15 minute walk. While you never need a taxi, it is nice to know that there is a taxi stand just outside. The best thing about this apartment is the small street right outside - there are plenty of small restaurants all with outdoor seating (try La Montecarlo for incredible pizza) and boutique shops. There is a grocery store within a couple minutes. The apartment couldn't have been better. It is perfectly sized for two people and has a home-y feel with a lot of character. The kitchen is fully equipped although it does not have a dishwasher. The only downside to the apartment is that the shower has a bit of a low ceiling - this wasn't too bad even though I'm 6'1". Also, the removable shower head's stand is located such that you have to make sure water doesn't spray out - a larger shower curtain would have been useful and maybe the stand should be adjusted/moved. While slightly annoying, the shower was not a big problem. We will definitely be back to stay at the Attica Arcadia again! Best, CJ
For me and my husband, staying 10 days in September 2010, it was a inspired choice of apartment. The location is central and all the main sites are easily reached on foot. You're just steps away from the life of the city yet the apartment is quiet and the balcony private and pretty. The rooftop views from the balcony and the bedroom windows are spectacular. The market in Campo de' Fiori is just minutes away, great for flowers, fresh fruit, cheeses and hams (look out for one stall that sells rolls filled with wonderful slow-roasted pork), and there's a lovely bakery there as well for morning croissants and take away pizza. A little supermarket is a few yards away, and of course you can take your choice of the bars and restaurants all around. The apartment has everything you could need or want for a city centre stay. It's designed and planned to make great use of the space and feels airy and light. The bed is large and comfortable, the air conditioning and Sky TV are bonuses. I've tried hard to think of any downsides and the only one I can think of is that the shower is a pretty basic one over the bath and I prefer a shower to a bath, but that's a personal preference and it is exactly as described in the advert. Alex met us when we arrived and made us feel at home straightaway, and Melanie, who lives in the same building and checked us in and out,was lovely, helpful without being intrusive. Finally, we know Rome well and have stayed in other several apartments but this is the best by far. When can we go again!
We stayed here for 10 days at the start of 7 weeks touring Italy and Greece. For us it was the standout - we loved everything about Rome and this apartment is exactly as described - as another reviewer said sending money halfway around the world to a person you've never met was a risk I'm glad we took! Even though we still haven't met Alex, Melanie was great - very helpful. The apartment was clean and comfortable and once we had worked out where the switch was for the hot water, it was perfect. The balcony was a great addition - for drying washing as well as watching the sunset. I loved that the church bells woke us every day - and that a short walk away was our coffee and pastry hit. We found the local Irish pub down the road a great place to practice our Italian and give us some 'time out' when we just needed to think in English.... there are still so many things to see in Rome, we are looking forward to coming back, for at least 2 weeks next time..... the apartment is so central it is possible to walk everywhere and in fact by just heading in one direction, there are little gems all over Rome to discover - even when we didn't quite get to the destination we were looking for, we found something just as marvellous instead! (usually with less tourists and no cost to look ...) We have already told all our friends and relatives that this is the place to stay in Rome!
First I would like to say that the owner, Alex is extremely nice to work with. It is difficult to send off your payment in full for a rental in a city half way around the world. But Alex was always prompt in his replys, professional in his dealings and punctual in meeting us (and patient when WE were late getting to the apartment!). You have no worries in your dealings with Alex. The apartment is nice and accurately described in the listing. Very central location to all that you want to see in Rome. We walked to everything, never needing a Taxi except when we were tipsy after too much wine at night. The neighboorhood is pleasant and the restuarants in the small street to the right of the front door (20 feet/meters) are all good. ESPECIALLY the one that is an immediate right turn on the little street. First place, two nice brunettes are the waitstaff. Great food. We could not use the nice patio shown in the photos too much due to the time of the year, but it must be spectacular in the late spring/summer/fall. One thing I came to understand on my visit to Rome is how expensive it is. I know what it would cost to rent this apartment on a monthly basis. So the fact that you can get it for a week at a time at this rate is wonderful. That being said, just be advised that this place is accurately described in the listing for the size. Just watch your head, and enough said... Cheers Alex (and Melanie his on site helper). It was a great place!
Love, love, love this apartment! After travelling for a couple weeks prior to this stay, we were so thrilled to have a relaxing and worry-free homebase in Rome. The weather was much to be desired, we had unseasonably cold temperatures when we arrived. After Alex explained how to heat up the place, we were content. On day 5 we were finally able to open up the patio and was able to enjoy for a couple hours. When looking at apartments in Rome, this terrace was our deciding factor. It was sad for us to not be able to use it for most of our stay, but we loved the view from behind the glass. The apartment was clean, the bed was really comfortable (unlike some of the other places we stayed at on our trip). Aside from an umbrella (which we bought from a market vendor and left there for others to use), we didn't need anything that wasn't already provided. I would have liked to see a instructions for the washing machine as I had a really hard time figuring it out. The location was central to everything. Our favorite cafe was the Farnese Bar, just outside of Campo. We took Roman cooking lessons in Trastevere at Le Fate Restaurant by Chef Andrea Consoli - highly recommend this if you are staying a more than a few days and it's a nice walk from the apartment. I love Rome, we came back to this city to end our honeymoon with vibrancy and life. I will most definately stay again in this apartment on our next visit (because there is no greater city in my opinion that Rome). Thanks Alex!
Your first pleasant surprise, when you arrive, is the apartment and views are exactly as pictured. The terrace is such a bonus; I cannot adequately describe how much you will enjoy it. Start your day there with coffee and end your day there with wine. The apartment is located between Governo Vecchio and Corso Vittorio Emanuelle which places you in heart of many must see locations and makes it very easy to become acclimated to the city. You can walk to Piazza Novona, Trevi Fountain, Vatican, Castle of the Angels, Coliseum, Forum, Campo de Fiori Market, Panetheon, Spanish Steps, etc. There is a grocery store on Governo Vecchio about 2 blocks from the apartment, with plenty of restaurants all around. Some of the best restaurants are in the Campo de Fiori and Trastevere area which is easily accessible on foot. Alex recommended Le mani in pasta (in Trastevere) it was the best meal of our trip. Alex is very helpful and has made sure everything you will need (power converter, blow dryer, iron, coffee pot, tea kettle, guide book etc.) are available. One tip, write down or print the apartment address to give to cap drivers. If you are looking for the perfect spot to make you feel at home and in the heart of the city, look no further you have found perfection.
