We loved the SQ apartment! It was in a great location, which felt safe. There was a grocery store close by and a cafe where we could get great cappuccinos in the morning. It has a fully stocked kitchen (no oven) and great amenities. The management was very helpful. The only thing that wasn't great was that it was really hot (100 F) in August, with no air conditioning, so we had to open the windows. The sound whenever a car went by was very loud, and we got mosquito bites! But all around a great find.
I stayed in the flat for nearly three months, from early february to late april 2011 for a course. Everything was fine. The location was good, a few minutes walk to the Coloseo. The flat was very clean, large and well equiped. The staff friendly and atentious. I would definitly stay there again and recomend it.
The San Quintino Flat in Rome was a perfect place for four of us to stay, and all of the information and pictures provided by the VRBO advertisement were exact. The two bedrooms were well-appointed, clean and comfortable, and the kitchen-living room combination provided plenty of space. We were able to move freely via the nearby Subway stop at Manzoni, and it was just a short walk to a bus stop. Walking to the Forum, Palantine Hill and Colosseum was an easy stroll, and the availability of bus and subway stations made travel to the Vatican, museums, and catecombs relatively easy. Several very good restaurants are located within a 10-minute walk from the Flat.
When we return to Rome we definitely will try to stay at this VRBO and would recommend it be considered by others.
When I first saw the neighborhood on the website, I wasn't sure about this location, but was assured by the hosts that it was safe. It turned out to be ideal for my family of 6. Very near a metro and we were able to see so much of Rome. The bedrooms were comfortable and we felt like there was space for the 4 adults. The two kids shared the pull-out couch in dining/living area. This was a little cramped and one of the beds was slightly broken. We also found that the neighbor was not so crazy about our stomping around - maybe too many people?
Even with these slight challenges, I would recommend this flat. It was clean, well furnished kitchen, grocery store around the corner and we ate in a few nights to save some money. Get the bed fixed and use it for no more than 5 people and you are good to go.
