Newly remodeled, this spacious & immaculate king-size suite has lovely views of the ocean from your perch above the trees. Sunny and bright with a cathedral ceiling with fan, a breakfast kitchen,New Full-Size Bed, double and single futon, and a sp …
The condo was clean and bright (far more light than the pictures showed), with two big windows overlooking the back yard and beyond it, the water. The air circulated well, and the condo was comfortable and private. We felt quite at home there and enjoyed learning more about Rockport and it's different beaches. The resident sticker for the car was a nice assist for that, and we also tried other beaches in the area. Town was a good 20 min walk, but perfect for us as we're big walkers. Traffic was very, very easy to negotiate--a worry for us after having spent many years on the cape where we ditched the car in favor of bikes (which are possible here, but felt more dangerous). MaryJane and Pete are welcoming and responsive, and Eden Road is just that--Eden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We've already recommended it to friends and are considering next year's vacation!
My husband, teenaged son and I have just returned from a week in Rockport, and were completely happy with our studio rental. The property is clean, bright, quiet, uncluttered, and has a nice view of the ocean. The bathroom is new and spotless, with great water pressure. Our hosts thought of everything, including beach chairs, and a parking pass, which enabled us to visit a quiet beach nearby and also park in the Rockport resident parking lots. We did not feel crowded at all during our time indoors, plenty of room for all. The property is well located, away from noise, but close enough to drive to both Rockport or Gloucester for dinner. Our family has been visiting Rockport for many years and this is was overall the best rental experience that we have ever had including beachfront houses, and apartments right on Bearskin Neck. We hope to visit again soon.
My children, age 10 & 8, and I loved our week at this studio. It proved to be the perfect place for the three of us as we explored Rockport and the surrounding area. In fact, the location was amazing: off the main area so it was relaxed and quiet yet incredibly convenient to everything and everywhere! The studio was very clean, had an abundance of linens and was quite comfortable. The single futon was great for my son and offered flexibility in sleeping arrangements. The kitchen area is small but well-equipped and easily accomodated our needs as we ate in several nights. My only complaint is the showerhead- it was too strong for the kiddos. However the water pressure was great and this is more of a personal preference. I cannot rave enough about the location-the rocky coastline just minutes down the road offered countless opportunities for us to explore. The parking pass was "golden" and allowed us to park with ease about town! As for our hosts, they were gracious and always ready to assist. Chairs and other beach accessories were available as well. We had a fabulous visit, exploring Rockport, Salem (a short train ride away), Gloucester, Manchester by the Sea and the state park, Halibut Point. We spent hours at the tidal pools! If you are looking for a simple, clean, comfortable getaway, then this is it! Great for small families or couples. We had a simply wonderful time in my beloved New England and I wish we could have stayed another week! We would definitely stay here again!
This was a great place to stay! Clean and quiet... close to everything, but private and secluded... within walking distance of Bearskin Neck and the ocean.... It was perfect!
We needed a home-base for a week-long trip to Rockport/Boston for a family vacation, and this was perfect! It's located quite close to the scenic cove in Rockport, and close enough for day-trips into Boston. Even better, when you walk out of the front door and turn left, you're 100 yards from the coastline--my 2-year-old son and I took walking trips every morning. It's tough to seem secluded and close to the 'action' but this place does it for us. The owner was very helpful with tips on the local area, and the parking pass was golden for parking in Rockport! Definitely a special find...
A great place in a great location with a super view. My Husband and I rented the studio for 4 weeks. We came to affectionately call it the "cubby" with a view. It was very comfortable and very well equipped. Peter and MaryJane have thought of everything, even a beach parking sticker to allow you to park at the beach or down town. The view of Straightsmouth Island is lovely and We actually saw deer and bunnies in the yard from our windows. Daily walks in the area proved spectacular. We would definitely come back and recommend "the cubby" as a great place to stay.
We stayed for two weeks and didn't want to leave. The place was bright (lots of windows with a nice view), very clean and central to Rockport and Gloucester. We particularly enjoyed morning walks to Pebble beach, Cape Hedge beach and Long beach. Front beach in Rockport is just a few minute drive away. Our hosts Mary Jane and Pete were just great and very helpful. This place has it all and we will be back next year!
My daughter and I really enjoyed the few days at this studio - it was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed and more. The hosts were very helpful and extras such as beach chairs, coolers and beach towels were provided. Rockport is a lovely little place, and the beaches are gorgeous. It is also very convenient for day trips - we went to Salem, Gloucester, and Boston. Would definitely return to this accommodation.
Everything about this rental is just as described. The property was very clean and everything we needed was there. The owners were available if we needed them - yet they allowed us our privacy and independence. Although the guesthouse is above the garage - we never heard the garage door. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for something quiet, safe, and clean. If you enjoy writing or doing artwork - this area is great for inspiration. A 20 minute walk takes you to downtown Rockport which is amazing; and another 5 minute walk the other direction takes you to a panoramic view that I could stare at for hours. This is a definite go to place and the price can't be beat!
We really enjoyed our 4 days!. Everything was as described and very cozy. We stayed there with our daughters 7, 5 and 1 and we had enough space! Nice walks nearby and plenty of beaches within a short car ride. Beach towels, beach chairs and cooler were a plus!
We will absolutely return there in our next stop to Cape Ann.
Great getaway spot in a great location! Rockport is a neat place, and one of the "hidden treasures" of New England! Hosts were very accomodating and also superior on communication and answering the many questions we had! To include great suggestions for things to see and where to dine! Rockport commuter train station 5 minutes away and Boston only an hour train ride away where you can experience American history live and in color! (Train also runs weekends and is less crowded then)
2 of us stayed here for a week and it was lovely. I chose it mainly for the location and the fact that it comes with a town parking pass. Since I like to go to the beach everyday, this was important to me as beach parking is so expensive here. The apartment is above the owner's garage and it's very quiet with the added benefit of on-site, friendly owners. You even get a water view from the windows of the nearby cove. They did a great job with the apartment; it's quite cozy and cute with everything you need. It was very clean when we arrived which I was thrilled about. I would definitely recommend this rental for 2 to 3 people.
