Lovely central apartment close to Vatican, 2 bedrooms (sleeps 6), A/C, WI-FI
The apartment is around 80 sqm and can sleep 6 people. It's in an excellent location (right beside Vatican). It's on the 4th floor with a lift, and is well soundproofed with double windows. Description: - 1 double bedroom; - 1 twin bedroom with …
Gorgeous apartment with lots of space. The only negative was that the Internet signal wasn't picked up by three of us who had droid phones......the one who had an iPhone picked it up fine.
Extremely cute and air conditioning that worked well. Nice location near vatican.
Valentina was very flexible and reliable in arranging this appt, along with airport transportation. Smooth, timely operation contributed in the most enjoyable visit to Rome. Clean, functional, conveniently located appt is perfect for the family get away. It is spacious and double windows serve as noise and light blockers. Love the clothing line outside of the kitchen-clothes are dry the very next day, but the air conditioner works so well, that clothes dry inside, as well. Metro, restaurants and stores are right around the corner. The elevator is a plus for all the luggage. Safe front entrance. Will consider coming back. Thank you, Valentina.
We spent 6 lovely days in this vacation home. It is in a safe residential neighborhood with plenty of dining options. It is just 2 streets or 10 min walk from the nearest metro (subway). The Vatican museums is just across the street. Every morning, lines of tourists will be queuing up for the museums. We saw that the lines were longer on those days when it rained. Therefore, we suggest either making it there early around 8am (u will make it there in 5 min) or reserve tickets online thru the vatican museums website a couple of days earlier, paying 4eur more to skip the line, or book guided tours, instead of buying them from the touts. Valentina, the owner of this property, gave good tips on dining, traveling & shopping options which helped guide us on this trip. She and Tim (property manager) were very prompt in answering our queries & arranging our accommodation. Throughout our stay, they were just a phone call or email away. Carrefour is just across the street and there are many small grocers where we bought fresh fruits. Piazza d Risorgimento, short 5 min walk away is a nice place to people watch & have cafe fare & gelato. We also recommend having a nice dinner at Pizzeria Bisteccheria at Via degli Scipioni 45, about 15min walk from the apt. We chanced upon this pizzeria while exploring the neighborhood. Altho they served typical Roman fare, we love the delicious wood fire steak & the lively atmosphere. Not the usual run of the mill tourist hang outs. Seat near the chef working his magic at the wood fire stove. The apartment is surprisingly spacious for a Roman home and has almost everything we need. It matches up to the listing description, is well maintained & cosy. Pretty much like living in somebody's home. Although the apt faced the main street & can get noisy, the double glass window helps to keep the noise out. We particularly love the ride up & down the tiny old elevator which is quite an adventure for our kid. Definitely recommend this apt!
Great location...view of the Vatican from our room and only blocks from the metro. In close proximity to many great restaurants. Spacious - would be great for a small family. Great to have 2 bathrooms though one was a bit small. Modern kitchen with great appliances. We've been to Rome many times and we would definitely consider this apartment again.
What a great apartment. It is even better than the description: more spacious, more generously equipped; very comfortable and very clean. Would certainly recommend this rental. Everythingl we needed was provided. Valentina was very helpful with information before our visit and we were met and greeted very efficiently. The location is perfect for the Vatican: right opposite the street where the entrance is located; a short walk from St Peter's basilica; very easy to walk to many historic sights. Had good meals in a couple of local places: Non Solo Pizza at 95 Via degli Scipione, and Osteria dell'Angelo at 32 Via Giovanni Bettolo. Both only a few minutes walk. Would definitely recommend pre-booking entry tickets to Vatican and Coliseum to avoid the huge queues. The other reviews of this apartment all reflect our very delightful and positive experience.
Our stay at Valentina's apartment was IDEAL!
Valentina was a pleasure to communicate with in advance of our trip and all was as promised.
The accommodations were more spacious than the pictures show.
Our children loved the room with the loft bed! So many little storage closets made for lots of fun games of hide and seek.
The apt had all we needed for basic comforts and no excess clutter - made it easier to child-proof for our todder, thank you!
Baby bed and feeding chair were provided.
Beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water for bathing.
Having 2 bathrooms was a plus.
The apt is on the 4th floor and has a TINY elevator which can fit 3 adults at a time in close single file. We had to fold the stroller to fit in the doors but it was better than walking up the stairs with small children and luggage.
The front of the apt (master bedroom and living/dining room) look out over Via Leone - a busy street with a good view of the Vatican Museums - looks like a castle.
The double paned windows insulated us from the street sounds below.
The second bedroom and kitchen overlook a quiet courtyard.
Carrefour grocery store was about a block away and had all we needed.
The kitchen in the apt is well suited to making your own meals - we had plenty of pots/pans/utencils/oven/gas stovetop [with 5 burners]/microwave/fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
One suggestion would be to install a dryer to go with the washing machine - it rained most of the week we were in Rome and our clothing took a LONG time to dry out!
Delicious and affordable family restaurant out the door to the left of the apt. about 30 meters walk - recommended by Rick Steve's and Trip Advisor - fantastic tortellini.
Out the door to the left, 2 blocks away was a portrait studio "Back Flash" where you can dress up in period costumes (ancient Rome, Renaissance, religious garb) and pose for pictures. This was SO fun for us and our children! 38 euro for 5 people.
The Metro was about a 5 min walk from the apt.
Metro transportation was much cleaner than other big cities (Paris, NY).
Even had escalators that WORKED (unlike in Paris) and many stops are labeled handicapped accessible (good for strollers).
From Ciampino airport we took a bus for 4 euro/pp to Termini Metro then to Ottaviano for 1.50 euro/pp and walked 5 min to the apt. Very easy transfers.
And what a bonus to welcome the new POPE this week!
Thank you, Valentina!
We loved this trip & hope to return one day!
The Vatican Museum entrance is like a 2 minute walk!!!
It was fun to watch the line form and then grow large in the morning for those who want to buy tickets to the Vatican. The metro stop is a 5-7 minute walk and most places can be accessed via the metro. It is in a great location. Lots of restaurants and gelato stores..We LOVED every minute at the apartment.
It has 2 bathrooms which is a plus and the apartment is SPACIOUS. The kitchen is setup to cook if desired. This apartment should be rented out every day!!!!
Valentina is very nice and she met us at our scheduled time. Everything was easy and we highly recommend this apartment.
The apartment was just what we wanted. The location was prime with the Vatican just across the road. All transport links were close by and the attractions were all in ten minutes distance from he flat. We spent all evenings in the st peters grounds which were five minutes away. We had local supermarkets within a minutes walk from the flat. My children aged 11 and 4 loved the apartment, it was clean and well equipped. We had a problem with the air con that was solved quickly. The area was very good and we loved our Rome holiday . If we come back we will definitely book the apartment again. Lots of good restaurants and gelato shops nearby. Amazing view of Vatican from window. All in all the apartment felt luxury to come home too after spending a whole day sight seeing in Rome. Great holiday choice.
The apartment was perfect for us: everything clean, perfectly equipped, next to Vatican, not too far away from the center. Would recommend it!
It's a wonderful apartment with everything you could need provided.
Location is right across from St. Peters' walls, looking straight down towards the Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel. We were able to look out our window to determine the best time to go and as a result we did not have to wait in line,
Tim and Valentina were both amazingly helpful with any issues that we had and with advice about restaurants and shops.
I would definitely recommend this apartment for all, including children and seniors.
