If you are visiting Portland we would highly recommend that you consider this condo.
The condo is magnificent and has everything you could wish for, you could not feel more at home.
Cate the owner has thought of everything so the condo is very well equipped, and extremely comfortable. You also have access to a pool and spa.
The pearl district and downtown are close at hand and in walking distance, so lots to do.

The view from the many windows of this condo are marvelous. You are right under a drawbridge which was built in 1911 and is an industrial marvel. The river is directly under the condo, so if you like, you can sit and watch the boats go by, or the lights on the river at night, which are especially beautiful.
The condo is well-maintained and very comfortable, as well as spacious, for downtown Portland. It has 2 floors and good, comfortable beds. It's very well-stocked with everything you can think of in duplicate. Cate, the manager is very responsive and will immediately answer any questions you might have. There is a pool and whirlpool at the tenant's disposal. We didn't use them, but they're right next to the condo. We couldn't have asked for a nicer, more pleasant rental experience. Thanks, Cate!

Everything in the Pearl is a short walk from the condo and Cate has amassed a collection of things to do as well as local restaurant ideas to make sure your stay is a comfortable one.
A word of advice though - this condo is situated on the waterfront, and there are ship movements and trains that might disturb your rest. Cate has even made sure that there are earplugs at your disposal in case they are needed. I had no issue with the noise, and did not need them.

Came to Portland for a months stay and had the good fortune of finding Dock of the Bay on Home Away. What a wonderful experience it was. I had never done this before and it couldn't have been better.
First off, Cate was a superb landlady. She has thought of everything to make your stay pleasurable. Every detail of the condo has been thought out and implemented to perfection. The kitchen is well stocked with all the gadgets and dishes, bathroom and bedroom linens are complete, etc. And the condo it is very tastefully decorated.
We loved the location and had so much fun sitting on the deck watching the world go by on the river and the Broadway Bridge. We were also within walking distance to all of the wonderful restaurants and attractions. Portland is a great base for day trips to all of the surrounding area, as you will be within easy access to highways.
The trains can be quite loud. Earplugs at night are a necessity, and Cate has a good supply on hand. Personally I love the sound of the hustle and bustle, but did sleep with earplugs and never had a problem. In fact the bed is so comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning.
I would love to rent from Cate again. I truly hated to leave Portland and our wonderful condo home. Thank you, Cate!
Wow, what a place! Two comfortable bedrooms, spacious living space with a glorious river view. Cate, the owner, is very responsive and has created a lovely home away from home. The boardwalk leads right to downtown, very convenient if you are a walker. We had a great holiday!
My husband & I visited Portland for a week to test the waters for moving out there next year. Cate's condo was a huge chunk of why we loved our trip so much. The condo's complex is wonderfully located, with a great view, and close to the Pearl district, which has amazing food and shops within walking distance. Staying there definitely made me feel like a local :]
The condo was also wonderful not only because of it's nice boardwalk or close proximity to the pool/hot tub, but because of how well stocked it was! Cate is super duper thoughtful and provides you with more than you'll even need. She provided toiletries, plenty of linens, every appliance and utensil we needed for the times we cooked in. She even had cooking spices and condiments!
I would recommend this place to anyone (& wouldn't mind going back either!) because it was incredible on all fronts: location, Cate's customer service, price, spaciousness & hominess. I seriously doubt there's a better rental in Portland.
This was our first experience with vacation rentals and it was an astounding one. We would definitely do it again, but now I'm worried that our next rental won't live up to this one. Cate definitely set the bar very high :] Thank you for our wonderful time in Oregon!
The condo could not have been better. The location is fabulous, right on the Willamette River. It has a great view of the Broadway Bridge (we were initially concerned it might be noisy because it is so close but it isn't); close to public transportation and walking distance to The Pearl District. Cate, whom we never met, makes it so accommodating from the welcoming bottle of wine to the wonderful hand and body lotion to the audio system tied into the television to every kitchen items we ever needed to the espresso machine to the soft towels to the chairs and table on the top deck (where we ate over half our meals and enjoyed it as much or more than any restaurant in town).
We can not wait to return.
This condo is beautiful, just as pictured. We stayed for 10 days, with two adult children, and could not have been more comfortable. We are regular HomeAway clients and this condo is definitely the best appointed apartment we have rented, the generous coffees, laundry facilities, extra linens and towels made for a most comfortable stay. The view of the Willamette River is gorgeous, and the location is convenient -- we walked everywhere. We had a car for a few days but only used to when we traveled to Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens (both trips highly recommended!). Tool the MAX from the airport, and it was a little confusing finding our way to Naito Parkway but after we figured that out, everything was as easy as could be.
Best meals: Pizza Schmizza; Rogue Brew Pub; Henry's Tavern; Jake's Grill.
Coolest neighborhood: definitely Alphabet west of the Pearl -- go to 23rd St!.
Groceries: We really liked City Market on 21st, and a brand new place called Local Market (everything -- EVERYTHING is locally sourced) is on Flanders at about 9th. Also, Whole Foods at 12th and Couch and Safeway at 12th and Lovejoy.
Saturday Market is always fun, and happens on Sundays too. Roses at Washington Park cannot be beat. Have fun! We always do.
We had a wonderful stay at Dock of the Bay! It is beautifully decorated and has all the comforts of home. We enjoyed being able to grill on the deck and utilized the kitchen supplies to their fullest extent, including the Keurig coffee maker!! We were pleased with the comfortable beds, big screen TV and the gorgeous decks! We spent every evening sitting on the decks watching the river and enjoying the beautiful view of Portland!
Close access to both down town restaurants and the SE side of town. It was easy to get out of town as well as we ventured up the Columbia River Parkway, McMinnville, Cannon Beach and Woodville WA. We even went with a fishing guide to catch 7-9 foot sturgeons on the Willamette from an access 45 minutes south of the condo by Lake Oswego!!
Our son lives in Portland and this was the perfect spot to stay to be able to cook his favorite meals and enjoy time to ourselves as well.

The Dock of the Bay condo was a great choice for our last visit to Portland. By having a second bedroom and bathroom on a separate level, our Portland resident son was able to spend the week with us yet still have plenty of space for himself.
The condo is very clean, nicely furnished, and is more comfortable than expected. It did not feel cramped at all. The bedrooms have plenty of dresser and closet space and room for luggage to be stored away. The kitchen was stocked with all the supplies we needed to cook our favorite family meals. The Keurig coffee, teas, seasonings and condiments were a plus. It was very convenient to have the washer and dryer inside the unit. Cate thoughtfully had the condo stocked with all the soaps shampoos, hand lotion at each sink, paper towels, tissues, TP, laundry detergent, etc. (so many things we normally have to buy in a larger supply than needed but can't take home with us on a plane).
Since we stay inside more in the winter in Portland than in the summer, we really enjoyed not feeling closed in by having the fabulous views from both levels of the condo, especially at night with the lights beautifully reflecting on the water. The boardwalk/walking trail along the river was great when we did want to venture out. It was nice having an assigned parking spot because parking can often be difficult in Portland. (Visitor parking is a bit trickier because the meters have to be fed.)
This was a great place to stay with a very considerate and attentive owner. We even received our security deposit back the day after departure!
Located at the McCormick Pier Condos, this unit is wonderful. Great location near the Broadway Bridge where you can walk to the Pearl District, Saturday Market, Downtown and Chinatown. The unit is wonderfully appointed with a fabulous kitchen, comfortable furniture, great beds and everything you could possibly need (except a little bit more sunshine but, after all, it is Oregon in November). Watching the River flow past your living room is wonderful- we even watched an eagle hitch a ride down the River on a log. This was the perfect spot for our family. Great hot tub too!
This place is great! It is located near the Broadway Bridge, which is a very convenient short walk to the Pearl District and to downtown and it is on the boardwalk. The owner (Cate) is very friendly, responsive and communicates well with travelers. For someone who didn't know Portland at all, I appreciated the detailed notebook giving us suggestions on what to do and it helped orient us to the city. I definitely recommend this condo for the location, amenities and because of the attentiveness of the owner. I will stay here again if ever in Portland!
My friends and I were in Portland for the marathon and the Dock of the Bay condo was the absolutely perfect place to stay. The condo is located at the edge of the Pearl District and a short walk away to the MAX rail system, the Amtrak, the Saturday market, the waterfront park, shopping, restaurants, down town and more. Despite the condo being so close to things it was also really quiet and peaceful. The only sounds you really heard were the trains from time to time, but I'm pretty sure it's near impossible to find a place in Portland not near trains.
The condo was exactly as described. Beds were comfy, kitchen supplies were aplenty, the internet worked with no issues and there were great little touches that made it really welcoming for out of towners. The owner had guide books, restaurant recommendations, directions to public transit and much more. She called when we got in town to make sure we settled in. She even remembered we had a race and said to give her a call if we had any questions about the area or needed anything in particular.
As far as proximity to the race, this condo was right on the course - around mile 5 - and close to mile 25 too. If you are running the race and have family or friends with you, this is the best location since they can walk with you to the start (a short 15 min away), and then easily get back towards the condo and see you a few more times during the race. Then when you're done, enjoying the condo complex's hot tub or the private roof deck at the condo is a well deserved reward!
I highly recommend Dock of the Bay. The place is fantastic and the owner is a pleasure to work with.
The condo is located on the edge of the Pearl District, the most vibrant and active neighborhood in Portland, within easy walking distance to many restaurants and the landmark Powell’s City of Books that my teenage daughter and her friend loved to visit. Use the footbridge over the train station to shorten your access to these commercial areas of the city.
The two-level condo has a beautiful view of the Willamette River and direct access to the pedestrians’ and bicyclists’ promenade along the river that allows you a pleasant stroll into town, whether to Saturday (and Sunday) Market near Burnside Bridge or Salmon Fountain further away.
The condo is not disturbed by traffic noise, but you must be tolerant to train signals and motorized watercraft, the latter particularly on the weekends. The train tracks on the opposite side of the Willamette river are busy with freight trains moving to and from Portland’s commercial harbor further down near the merger of Willamette and Columbia River, but this may add more a feature of interest than a nuisance.
The condo is in excellent shape and has a well-equipped kitchen. It is most suitable for one family, as one of the two sleeping areas on the upper level is open to the living areas below and needs to be traversed to reach the expansive upper-level deck convenient for outdoor meals with a great view.
The condo owner is extremely responsive to prospective renters’ inquiries and needs.We were particularly gratified that the wireless internet access worked without a hitch.
The condo has its designated parking space, but it is more suitable to compact cars than larger SUVs. So be prepared to exercise great care and patience when maneuvering a larger vehicle, as was the case with us.
My husband and I spent the week of our 50th wedding anniversary with our son and daughter-in-law in this beautiful condo which was very comfortable for four adults, and much better than staying in a hotel. From the start, the owner, Cate, was very nice to work with, prompt and very helpful. The condo was clean, quiet, and relaxing. It's extremely well equipped for anything from the kitchen to business work. We enjoyed watching the activity on the river while sitting on the couch or one of the two decks. It was very convenient, just an easy walk to the MAX or the Pearl district. Since we did take trips to the beach and Mt. Hood, we had a car so we really appreciated having a dedicated parking space. Not only did we enjoy our stay in the condo, but the security deposit was refunded to us by the time we got home. We all look forward to our next visit to Portland when we will stay in Cate's condo.
