Petaluma Garden Cottage
'Camellia Cottage' a delightful home away from home, is just a short walk to Historic Downtown Petaluma, with it's Riverfront shops and restaurants. Nearby are the famed wineries of Sonoma and Napa Counties, the Pt. Reyes National Seashore with i …
We stayed at the cottage in Petaluma last week and had an outstanding time. The cottage is perfectly charming and so was Deborah, our hostess, who left us freshly baked goodies, coffee, tea, etc. She even left us fresh cut flowers. The location couldn't be better. Petaluma is lovely with great restaurants, lots of Victorian architecture and a nice downtown "riverwalk" area. It was only about a half hour from downtown Sonoma, Napa and the beautiful Sonoma coastline. The photos don't do it justice. Everything was immaculately clean and extremely well built. Huge walk in shower, large outdoor patio seating with awning, original artwork throughout. Hotel prices in this area are thru the roof so we were very happy and comfortable with the well stocked kitchen. We would highly recommend this lovely rental!
Comfortable, homey, clean and well equipped cottage. We had a wonderful time enjoying Petaluma and the surrounding area. The hostess was accomodating and friendly but not intrusive. Perfect get-away spot!
The accommodations were very nice, well lighted, very clean, and within a short walk (8 blocks) to downtown Petaluma. The hostess was helpful and pleasant without being intrusive. I definitely would stay there again.
The cottage is absolutely lovely, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The owner was very friendly and gave us some very helpful advice about restaurants etc. It is a pleasant 10 min to 15 min walk to downtown Petaluma where there is a wide selection of cafes, bakeries, pizzerias restaurants and theaters.
I would definitely recommend this property to friends. Places we liked were the Lagunitas Brewery, the Petaluma Pie Shop, Taps, Brixx Bar/Pizza.
Its a 30 minute drive on country roads to Dillon Beach.
Our 5 day stay at Camellia Cottage more than met our expectations. The cottage was a bright, cheerful, and inviting home away from home. The owner supplied everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. and there was fresh locally baked bread, fresh fruit, coffee, and tea plus beautiful fresh flowers upon our arrival. We loved the high ceilings of the cottage plus all the beautiful tile and woodwork throughout. The owner is a very gracious host and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting with her. The cottage is close to local points of interest plus offered a relaxed neighborhood for our stay in Petaluma. We highly recommend Camellia Cottage and hope to stay again soon!
Our week long stay at Camellia cottage was absolutely lovely! The cottage itself is very clean & tidy with everything you could possibly need-even a cooler is provided for your day trips! ( & there are so many
wonderful locations within an hour radius of Petaluma ) The cottage is very comfortable with so many lovely touches from the owner (fresh flowers & coffee upon arrival...) We especially loved the inviting outdoor space/gardens- & so many hummingbirds!
We wholeheartedly recommend this cottage if you are looking for peace & serenity in the great town of Petaluma!
P.S.- The owner is very respectful of occupants privacy & very willing to answer questions & a great resource for day trip ideas!
Our stay at the Cottage was wonderful! It is in a great location--both in the county and in Petaluma. The owner was more than gracious--we arrived very late but at night, but she had the place opened up and a delicious breakfast available for the next am. Her gardens/house are lovely. The place very clean and comfortable. The location is within walking distance of Petaluma (worth exploring) and the Napa Valley, of course, worth exploring.
Yes, we would definitely and highly recommend this property.
I had a beautiful time at this lovely well kept cottage. The natural light was wonderful. Cottage tastefully decorated. Clean as can be. One of my favorite vacation rentals found on vrbo. a gem.
We spent a month at Camellia Cottage this winter, escaping the cold in the mid-west, and visiting our family. It's a lovely cottage, comfy, spacious, clean and bright, quiet and private, and a great place to return to after a day of wine-tasting. We loved Petaluma, the river and many fun restaurants. The cottage has all you need, and is just a short walk to town. Deborah (the owner) is very helpful and also very respectful of your privacy. We arrived late and were nicely surprised to find coffee tea bread and milk. We highly recommend Camellia Cottage.

Vintage Petaluma Home with small town charm
We are new to Flip Key (we tried their free service last spring and now are signing up again for real this time), but we have been hosting vacation travelers at our home since August 2011 on a different site. Please feel free to contact us if you would like reviews or any further information. Please note that the calendar import function does not always sync correctly between sites so we may have additional days available for your stay.
This is a comfortable, well preserved -yet unpretentious- home in west Petaluma. The streets are wide and tree shaded, and you are a walk or bike ride away from the historic downtown, the Theatre District and many local parks.
Dine out or dine in, or picnic in the back yard garden. Amble to the Farmer's market (Saturdays) and take your finds home to create in the vintage kitchen or just hang around the house and relax with the modern amenities of WiFi/ flat screen TV/ HBO. Or pretend you're not connected, and play some board games.
You can catch a live act at the Mystic or the Phoenix, or stay home and jam on the piano or guitar. The walls are hung with local art and the organic cotton linens are fresh and new.
Take the scenic back roads west to the coast/Point Reyes, or east to the Sonoma and Napa Valley wine country; jaunt up to SF, or explore local history and antique stores -whatever your plans you'll find Petaluma a unique town that works as well as a destination as a starting point.
