    Paris

    Description

“MY LITTLE HOME IN PARIS” … 18th century rustic charm with all the comforts and conveniences of the 21st century — in the heart of the Latin Quarter!
Tucked away in a quiet cobblestone courtyard, this cozy 2-room flat is exceptionally located on …

    Reviews

This was our second time at MLHIP. Staying here again was like coming home. The hosts Sandy and Philippe were on hand to greet us and make sure we settled in. The apartment is as lovely as advertised. However, it is all the extras that make one feel so welcome - the gorgeous roses, wine, fruit, candy and breakfast goodies. They have provided a lovely little library of books on Paris as well as information on all the sights. Sandy and Philippe are always available to help out if there is a problem - willingly and cheerfully. The location is perfect! A lovely neighborhood with, cafés, bakeries and the wonderful rue Mouffetard market. We not only visited Paris but felt that we had experienced a bit of Parisian life as well.
Reviews of this property sounded too good to be true. But Sandy and Philippe really went out of their way to make guests feel at home. A lot of care went into making MLHIP a real home away from home
Wow! what great find this was. We love the Latin Quarter, so this apartment come up on my short list early in my preparations. When we arrived, this far exceeded all our expectations. Sandy and Philippe had thought of everything. The apartment has a lovely ambiance and is in a fantastic location. The apartment is spotlessly clean, the linen is meticulously laundered, the pastries that were left for us were to die for.... They is so much that can recommend this apartment. Thanks to Sandy and Philippe's local knowledge, we got to see and experience even more of this wonderful Quarter and other parts of Paris and France.
This should be named the Sandy and Philippe holiday. They are wonderful hosts filling the tiny flat with biscuits, flowers, and a bottle of wine. Sandy and Philippe explained everything carefully and finally invited us out for a drink. Sandy even walked to a little recognized monument in the Latin Quartie: Le Bateau Lavoir. The Contrascarpe is out of the swirling mass of tourism but walking distance to everything we needed and easy access to the Metro. After one visit to the local cafe 'le Déscartes´the staff were greeting us on the street as were the staff of the local boulangerie. There are 21 steps to climb. I think it is a wonderful adventure for visitors for the first time to fall in love with Paris and for others wishing this kind of adventure.

I spent the second week of a two-week vacation in Paris at this adorable apartment in the Latin Quarter. It was the perfect choice, and not just because of the charming, safe, comfortable and conveniently located accomodations. Those were wonderful, but the thing that makes MLHIP so special are your hosts-Sandy and Philippe. I was travelling alone and they both did everything possible to make my stay wonderful. They really made me feel like I had friends in Paris (I knew no one) that I could go to for anything- suggestions on dinner, museums to see, music to hear, etc. I even met up with them quite often after a day of sightseeing to decompress and talk about what I did over a glass (or two...or three...) of wine. Absolutely delightful people whom I felt a kindred connection to immediately. The apartment itself has everything you could ever need:a comfortable sofa bed for sleeping (not like American sleeper sofas...no support bar poking you in the back here!), a modern bathroom with a deep tub, a small kitchenette where you can cook for yourself if you wanted to spend a night in and save some $$$, and an extra office/dressing area that allows you to keep your clothes out of the way of the main living area. The apartment is very small, but who cares...you're not going to be spending that much time in there anyway! Fresh flowers and a delicious bottle of wine awaited me when I arrived, and the place is stocked full of walking guides, museum brochures and everything else you'd need to see the most interesting things in Paris. Leave your travel books at home (and your hairdryer...they have one there!). The location is a quiet pedestrian street off of the Place de la Contrescarpe- a lively center of activity with great little cafes at the top of the Rue Muffetard. Tons of sights to visit within 5-15 minutes of walking (I highly recommend walking over to the Institute du Monde Arabe...incredible building with a lovely restaurant and tea garden on the 9th floor. One of the best and least talked about views of Paris there is!). You will want for nothing in this location: open air markets, delicious restaurants, lively bars, wonderful boutique shopping, cheese, cheese, cheese and wine, wine, wine everywhere you look! If you can't tell by now, I highly recommend MLHIP! Seriously, just book it now. You won't regret it!

My Little Home in Paris is full of character, exceptionally clean, beautifully furnished, compactly containing everything you need, wonderfully located close to all you need in a quiet area - supermarche, cafes, bars, shops, Ernest Hemingway lived at the end of the street, a street market, minutes from the Seine, the Metro, the Pantheon, even Roman Arena ruins dating back to 1AD just down the road! It is small but ideal for 1 or 2 people, it is one room with a sofabed plus a small office which is great for storing the luggage and has a small table and chair for getting onto the computer. The bathroom is quite roomy and beautifully done - the special touches such as lovely shampoos, conditioners and body cream are an unexpected surprise. The kitchen, although tiny, contains all the pans and crockery you need to cook a meal if you so desire. Fresh flowers and fruit welcome you. Sandy and Philippe are wonderful, friendly, helpful hosts, they can't do enough for you. I would highly recommend the property!
What can I say...our experience with Sandie in ¨MLHIP¨ was wonderful. The flat is small but adorable, it was enough room for my husband and I and our 9 year old son. The location was great 0 close to metro etc. Sandie is more than accommodating. She promptly and thoroughly answered any questions ahead of time. She was there to meet us even when we were past due (our train was late). She had a bouquet, fresh fruit and wine for us when we arrived. It´s hard to beat that. Sandie loves to connect with the folks that stay at her flat. She is keen for others to get to know Paris and shares her infectious enthusiasm for the city. She and Philippe don´t raise their rates in the high season. Their rates are soooo reasonable. If you´re looking for a cozy place to call home while you´re in Paris, it´s the place for you :)
My two daughters and I stayed in this apartment for our last three nights of our European vacation. It was a little slice of heaven! Although small, the apartment suited us perfectly and we never felt too cramped. And it was so beautifully decorated, with all kinds of special little treats here and there and plenty of good guide books to help us navigate our adventures. Sandy and Philippe were amazing- greeting us outside as soon as we arrived, showing how everything worked, and spending a bit of time with us to visit and get acquainted. Sandy knew my oldest daughter was turning 20 while we were staying there, and had the most beautiful little cakes waiting in the frig as a surprise; so absolutely unexpected and sweet. I can't wait to go back with my husband! We definitely recommend staying in this apartment, so wonderfully and conveniently located in a central and lovely part of Paris, within walking distance to many wonderful sights.
My husband and I LOVED the cozy space Sandy and Philippe provided us for our five days in Paris. It was the perfect size for two adults in a wonderful, lively yet quiet part of town. MLHIP includes a sitting area with a (comfortable!) foldout couch, beautiful bathroom with tub/shower, a tiny kitchenette complete with everything you'd need (a fridge for keeping cheese and bottles of water and wine chilled, a gas range, sink, microwave, glasses, plates, and silverware), and a nice side room to keep your luggage out of the way. The flat was just a few steps away from great restaurants, bars, creperies, and markets, and it really is less than 10 minutes away from Notre Dame Cathedral! Sandy and Philippe have countless maps and guides of the city should you need them, too. Sandy was an absolute sweetheart and really made us feel at home when we arrived, right down to a lovely bouquet of roses and wine and cherries waiting for us. We'd return to MLHIP in a heartbeat!
We were extremely pleased with all the arrangements for our stay in MLHIP and with the gracious and generous hosts. The location is also outstanding, and the price was much appreciated. We must admit that the size became a bit confining for us (two adults) during a two-week stay, but that can partly be explained by the fact that we live in pretty spacious surroundings in the suburbs. For being in the heart of Paris, MLHIP is a terrific deal. We had friends in a very large apartment across from Notre Dame, and we would not have switched with them and their doubly expensive choice. We especially loved being just a short stroll from La Mouffetard and all of its reasonable cafes--there are enough to provide two weeks of dinners easily! Don't miss the several-day-a-week market at nearby Place Monge, and take the short walk to Luxembourg Gardens for their puppet show (whether you have kids or not!) If you have an extra day to get out of the city, we'd highly recommend the short train trip to Vaux le Vicomte, an absolutely delightful (and amazingly uncrowded) chateau with lovely grounds and fountains. Also, we'd recommend visiting the Jacquemart-Andre mansion with its wonderful decor and paintings and its marvelous cafe. The Museum Pass is a great deal--probably best purchased on a Wednesday as you need to use it on consecutive days, and many museums are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Purchasing a "carnet" of ten tickets for the metro and busses is easy and the best value for getting around. Could go on forever, but you'll love making your own Paris discoveries and using MLHIP as your home base.
Our stay at MLHIP was an excellent choice, allowing us to absorb the local flavor of Moufettard's friendly neighborhood and convenient amenities i.e. fine dining, patisserie, gelato, crepes, local vendors. Whether taking the metro, bus or walking, the location of this pied a terre makes any destination easily accessible. Owners, Sandy & Philippe, are an epitome of amicable Parisian hospitality...C'est Bon
I have stayed here a number of times. Sandy and Philippe are lovely people and always ready to help if you need anything. The apartment is very sweet and well maintained.
A wonderful place to stay. Owners were very, very helpful and made us feel right at home. Spending time in my "little house in Paris" was exac tly what we had hoped for--a fun and satisfactory experience.
We can't say enough good things about this great little apartment in Paris, or the wonderful couple that owns and rents it. Reading the many sparkling reviews just shows how much of a special place this little apartment is, and we couldn't agree more. It's location, it's charm, it's all around feel, it's countless and thoughtful amenities; the care and attention to every detail that one could ask for when staying someplace new. Meeting Sandy and Phillipe really impressed upon us how owners can really lend themselves towards making an experience in a big city such as Paris that much more enjoyable for visitors. We felt very much at home not only in their apartment, but also in the city in which it resides, thanks to them. We'll definitely hope to book it again for any future visits back to Paris. Cheers, and thanks again. - Ryan & Teyah
The name of the listing says it all. A little home away from home!. Sandy and Philippe from the first point of contact were delightful, helpful and easier to communicate with than many Australian holiday accommodation owners or agents. We were met on arrival, helped with the suitcases especially up the old spiral staircase (more of that later). Ample toiletries, cereals, tea and coffee and a bottle of red wine. The property may have been small in size but it was huge in character and the amenites fitted into the space well making us wonder how as Australians we expand to fill our spaces, in more ways than one. The area this Little Home is in is historically interesting, Descartes old area, the Mouffetard street market is fascinating with it's aromas and food. We were able to walk to the Musee D'Orsay and the Eiffel Tower however if you are inform do not try it. Cobblestones are murder on the feet. The area is easy to find as it is UPHILL from the river. The beautiful bar, cafe come restaurant around the corner from MLHIP is called Descartes and we dined, drank and did laundry on the same night. This is where the spiral staircase comes back. Very hard to walk up spiral staircase whilst inebriated on beautiful French reds (no hangover wines) carrying your clean washing and laughing so hard you cannot breath. I would go back to this beautiful little flat in a heartbeat and would have no hesitation in giving an oral reference if needed. The free landline overseas phone and the internet were a bonus as well. To Sandy and Philippe thank you for being the kick start of our memorable 3 weeks in Europe. With Much Love from Linda et Lynn the sisters in law from Queensland.
This charming little flat in the Latin Quarter was a joy. Although it is tiny, Sandy and Phillipe have thought of everything to make it comfortable and convenient. The tiny kitchen was well stocked, and we appreciated the coffee and wine they had left for us. Everything had its place, so there was no feeling of being overwhelmed by things. We enjoyed many lovely breakfasts at the table overlooking the courtyard. Sandy and Phillipe were most helpful in providing us with contacts, information and local details. The location was perfect, and we enjoyed many strolls in the immediate area, with visits to the local shops. We were in awe of the market on Rue Mouffetard, our first experience with a French market. The colour, variety, smells and sounds were wonderful! Thanks again to Sandy and Phillipe for providing us with this wonderful introduction to Paris and the Latin Quarter.
This charming apartment in Paris may belong to Sandy and Phillipe, but it certainly felt like OUR home for the week that we stayed there. And Sandy and Phillipe made us feel so welcome that they immediately felt like friends. Other reviews have mentioned the warmth, lovely decor, cleanliness, convenient location, unbelievable neighbourhood, wine, candy, food, drinks, equipment, charm...charm...charm. What more can we say? We loved it. We will be back!
