This is the second time we rented a Paris apartment from Paris Rental Connections via VRBO. Last year my husband and I had a great two-week stay at the Dauphine studio. This year our daughter joined us for a week's vacation, so we needed a one-bedroom apartment. We worked with Elodie Fortoul again this year for the reservation, and she was as cooperative and knowledgeable as before. Elodie said the Picardie was a good choice, and she was absolutely correct. We were met at the apartment by a lovely American woman named Shelley Bancroft. She took us through the apartment and recommended some activities in Paris. The apartment was a good size for three people. It was nicely laid out, clean and well-equipped. The location was excellent -- within walking distance of lots of food and quite a few important/interesting sites. It was also close to the Metro when we needed it. We highly recommend both the Dauphine and the Picardie. We were driven from the airport to the apartment by an excellent chauffeur service Elodie recommended.
Picardie is a very pretty and comfortable apartment, well-positioned for exploring the Marais. There are fabulous spots for eating in the area including Le Bistrot du Temple (right on rue de Picardie!!) and La Briciola (fastastic pizza around the corner on rue Charlot). The Republique Metro is nearby making it very easy to get to all of Paris. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a Marais getaway.
We arrived at our Piccardie apartment after 26 hours travelling to be personally welcomed at the apartment. This was a great start to a wonderful stay. Everything that we needed was there and it was located close the Metro and a great range of shops. The apartment was cleaned and well maintained and all appliances worked well. We enjoyed sightseeing during the day and coming back and cooking and eating beautiful delicacies purchased at the nearby butchers, fromagerie and boulangerie. We have recommended the apartment to family and friends.
We stayed in Picardie for 12 nights in September and had a marvellous time. The apartment matched the photos so accurately and the inclusions were first class. It was really spacious with open beams and even a chandelier! Shelley met us and showed all the facilities which were great, the washing machine was exceptionally easy to operate and hot water was abundant. The apartment has just a few and easily manageable steps is very secure and the courtyard view made for loads of light and quietness.
The major advantage of this apartment is its location! Rue de Bretagne is steps away as are all the shops one could want, supermarkets, wine shops, patisseries, boulangers, traiteurs, restaurants etc. Even Poilaine has opened up close by! The Metro and bus stops are so close!
From our first enquiry to our departure, the whole process was undertaken with great and personal professionalism which made our stay all the more enjoyable and we heartily recommend paris connections for their great service. Well done guys! Highly recommended

I booked this apartment for our Honeymoon and we absolutely enjoyed our stay at 22 Rue de Picardie! Everything was handled in a professional manner from inquiry, booking, stay and departure (thus far, awaiting deposit refund). The apartment was well appointed and everything you could need was provided for except for a clothes dryer. The agent, Shelley, was very responsive and met us at the apartment when we arrived and provided helpful tips, like which map to purchase to get around Paris. The apartment was centrally located and we were able to walk all of Paris from "our" apartment. All in all a great stay and if we had to make a recommendation it would be that the map recommended be provided, that would be a very nice touch.
We have been in 22 rue de Picardie for a week in January, the most unusual month for a holiday in Paris perhaps: in fact it was half-business and half-holiday stay this time. It was not our first encounter with Michele and their staff, and they have been very precise and helpful as usual, so first of all we would very much like to recommend Paris Rental Connections and their choice of high-quality accommodation.
It was in fact our first time in this area of the city (just a little North off the historic Marais) and we found it very quiet (in part because it was freezing outside?) but charming and with its own character (is there any area of Paris that lacks character?). As the other reviewers have said, a must of the area is the covered market, and the shops and restaurants of Rue de Bretagne. Among the restaurants, one must be definitively added to the list, Chez Omar, probably the best cous-cous that you can find North of Rabat. And when in Rue de Bretagne, you also have an immense choice of delightful cheeses in Jouannault's shop, at no. 39. Travelling around was very easy thanks to more than one Metro station within five minutes walk.
We found the apartment as described and pictured, pleasant and clean as expected. As we said, it was in part a business trip, so it was very useful to find a fast and reliable wi-fi connection. A very comfortable bed, a good shower, a recently fitted kitchen are the things that now come first to our minds, but in sum the apartment had just everything we needed in the very few hours we spent indoor every day. Every room has one or two electric heaters: essential, if you are there in the coldest winter ever. Among the additional bonuses, those that we didn't expect or use but one might be interested in, there is a big TV+DVD set (we saw no DVDs around though, and the French programs seemed to us as uninteresting as the many international ones also available). So the best entertainment we had, one of the main reasons for renting an apartment, was to do some cooking: here perhaps we can point out the only slight flaw of the apartment (for us), that was the ultra-modern fitted ceramic electric-induction hob, intelligent enough to turn itself on and off as soon as we were getting closer or away with a pan in our hands, but that prevented us from any serious accomplishment. Those who care about these things are warned; all others please enjoy this little jewel of high-tech.
What a wonderful place! We stayed here in mid May with another couple. Everything was as described and pictured. We were greeted by Shelly upon arrival and she did a great job explaining everything about the apartment to us. She also gave us some great sightseeing tips as well. The apartment was clean, beds were so comfortable, free Wi-Fi, and the location was unbeatable. A couple of minutes from the apartment is Rue Bretagne with lots of cafes, shops and the outdoor covered market, Le Marche des Enfant Rouge. We got Pain au Chocolat every morning from the wonderful baker here. He also has great baguettes and always gave us something free everyday. A great restaurant we found was Le Gayridon which is a few steps away from the apartment on Picardie walking towards Bretagne. The name is actually a play on words, Gay-cause the owner of the restaurant is gay, and Ridon-for the French round tables, Gueridon. The food here is amazing! We had a vegetarian in our group and the chef quickly whipped up a vegetarian dish especially for her. Prices here were very reasonable as well.
It was a pleasure working with Michele Vinnoni and Shelley from Paris Rental Connections. This was the first time ever we have opted to do a vacation rental versus staying in a hotel. Michele and Shelley were quick to respond to our emails and make the entire rental process care free and stress free. We will be recommending Paris Rental Connections to our family and friends who decide to go to Paris in the future. Thank you for such a great vacation!
THe Picardie apartment is very accurately described in the internet posting, and we really enjoyed it. It is on a very quiet street; additionally access is by a streetside entry (coded)into a courtyard with a stairway to the first floor locked entry. What we liked most about it is the location: It is a four-minute walk to Place de la Republique where the Metro serves five different lines, and since we had week-long Metro passes (including bus, and RER suburban trains) we found travel very simple to any part of Paris. Located in the upper Marais district, the old Jewish quarter, now quite changed with the accent on museums, and a more youthful presence, it called for its own walking tours. One and a half blocks (two minutes) gives acccess to Rue Bretagne which is a wide mix of stores catering to all food needs especially, restaurants, and a great covered market. There is a news agent who provided for our Int'l. Herald Tribune needs. Coffee bistros are right outside the front door.
Shelley, who greeted us, did a fine job of explaining the Apt. and showing us the sightesseing materials provided. All modern necessities are available, including 4 channels on the TV in English.(CNN, etc.)
We really liked this property, and we have rented all over the world.
22 Rue de Picardie is a charming apartment located in Le Marais district. A great area with great cafe's, open markets and museums nearby. This apartment literally enhanced my two weeks stay in Paris. I spent everyday walking the streets of Paris and at the end of each day when I walked through the front door of the apartment I felt immediately relaxed and at home. A luxurious bath in the nice big deep bath tub and a good nights sleep in the very comfortable bed was a perfect ending to each day. Oh yes, and the available high speed internet kept me connected to friends and family back home.
Many thanks to Michele Vannoni at Home Rental Connections for making the rental process a smooth one, and to Alexandra, the assistant in Paris, who was available 24/7 to answer any questions and handle any special requests.
I will definitely rent this apartment again and any others through Home Rental Connections in the future.
'22 Rue de Picardie' was an absolutely great base for our week’s stay in Paris. It is central and in a very upscale area of the City, close to all amenities. It was ‘serendipitous’ in that we were so lucky to have found such beautiful accommodation. Furnishings and equipment provided were all first class. Virtually everything was supplied and a lot of thought and planning obviously was put in by the owner, who was no doubt guided and assisted by Michele at Home Rental Connections. We have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Home Rental Connections in finding your Paris accommodations. We have no doubt that the other properties in Michele’s portfolio are all of the same high standard.Thank you Michele and Alexandra for your assistance in making this trip one of our special memories.Dolores Poles and Ross Greig, Serendipity Bed & Breakfast Inn, Prince Edward Island, Canada
