Air-conditioned Apartment near Louvre with fantastic VIEW, for 2-4 people
Our 1-bedroom apartment is situated on the 8th with 2 elevators and stunning view on Parisian roofs and most famous monuments like Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Pompidou etc. It has a charming living room, the most romantic bedroom, separate kitchen, …
Our family (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed here for a week in July and had a great time. The location is amazing within walking distance to the Louvre. There are 2 metro stops just around the corner (Bourse and Grands Boulevards). There is also a Velib rack (public bike rental) right outside the front door of the building for those who are more adventurous. The apartment was well-stocked with plenty of towels, cooking implements and closet space. The building is on a quiet street and it was peaceful for the most part, although there was a little caterwauling on the weekends from late-night bar patrons. The apartment, being on the top floor, is also very quiet.
We met the husband-and-wife owners of the apartment and they were very nice. The arrangements for taking over and then turning over the apartment went off without a hitch and the owners were very accommodating of our travel schedules when meeting at the beginning and end of our stay.
Looking forward to returning to this wonderful apartment!
My husband and I and our 14 year old son just spent a week at this apartment. It was defnitely as advertised - close to the Metro and within walking distance to the Louvre. We loved the neighborhood, including the local Starbucks - a welcome and unexpected find. The only negative we would say is that there is only one elevator that goes to the 8th floor, the other stops at 7, and one day they were working on it so we had to walk the extra flight. The other is the shower. My son and I are 5'7" and my husband is 6"4, and we had to hunch over to use it.
The owner, Vincent, was so pleasant and nice to deal with. He was very honest and charming, and able to answer many questions for us,
The agent was also great, and we used her service to arrange for transportation to and from the airport. We would defnitely recommend her.
We've lived in apartments before, so are used to taking off our shoes and walking in slippers or barefoot, so had no problem with the neighbor downstairs. There are a couple of small children next door, but we found their laughter and voices a charming addition to our vacation.
The air conditioner worked beautifully, and we were glad to have it especially for the 2 days it was in the 90's.
fun rooftop, great view, A/C worked good too. washing maching and dryer is hard to use and instructions are not in english. the property manager was helpful in getting us the internet access restored in only 3 days. apt was clean and the listing descripton was acurate. we got a knock at the door one night from a lady downstairs complaining about noise. She kept trying to enter while smoking and blowing it inside our apt. we were warned about her when we checked in. if you stay there and she knocks on the door open it and then quickly slam it in her face. SHE WILL GO AWAY. Grocery store is close by and several shops are in walking distance.
My nephew, age 42, my granddaughter, age 19, and myself stayed at this apartment for 3 days in February 2011. It was easy for the cab driver to find...(we arrived by train from London) and in a perfect location. Walkable distance to the Louvre and two different metro stops within an easy walk. There were also a number of good restaurants and bakeries in the area...(we had fresh croissants every morning!!) Vincent, the owner, was very pleasant and helpful. The apartment was very clean and provided us a great place for our base while we discovered a bit of Paris. The bed was new and comfortable and my nephew said that the pull-out couch in the living room was quite comfortable. I would recommend that a mirror be hung in the bedroom over the desk. That way someone can comb hair, etc. when another person is in the bathroom. The free computer connection was great. But probably the best thing about the apartment was the view....we looked at the Eiffel Tower every night. Wonderful! I would definitely stay there again.
We spent 7 nights in this apartment and really enjoyed our stay. Like most studio apartments in Europe, it was small but clean and generally well-equipped with a comfortable bed. The high-speed internet was a nice additional touch as it helped us research attractions and local restaurants. The view from the window is great, especially at night when the Eiffel Tower lights up.
The location is great as well. There are 5 metro stops within a 10 minute walk of the apartment. You can also easily walk to the Louvre, Opera, Galaries LaFayette, Place Vendome, and Place de la Concorde.
There are a couple minor improvements that I would recommend to make someone's stay even better. For stays in excess of 3-4 days it would be nice to have an extra set of towels available. We were also unable to locate directions for the washing machine. It would also be nice if a corkscrew were provided for those who wish to bring a bottle of wine back to the apartment. That being said, these are very minor items that in no way detracted from our stay in Paris. I definitely would recommend this apartment for those looking to have a more authentic Parisian experience.
We spent a nice holiday in this well furnished and equipped apartment. It was small but cozy and full of everything you need for a family vacation in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The beds were comfortable, the apartment clean and everything was exactly as in the internet ad.By the way ... a very fast Internet connection made my husband really happy The location of the apartment is strategically useful, two minutes' walk from the suggested metro station and only ten minutes' walk from les Galeries la Fayette. Very important! You can find any shop you want near you: restaurants, boulangeries, delicatessen shops, a pharmacy, hairdressers's and... even a hard discount (which was very useful). The owner is really nice and helpful and gave us any information we needed, better than a tourist information office! He is really proud of his apartment and he won't hesitate to show you the wonderful view you can have from the window: really romantic!!!I have already recommended this property to my friends and I would suggest such a stay to all the families who want to spend a holidays following their rhythm and their needs. I would define this accomodation as a reasonable solution for a family with a good balance between quality and price.
