Sunny Private Bedroom W/Key

    New York City

    Description

Sugar Hill was named for representing Harlem's sweet life, since it was a popular haven for wealthy African-Americans during the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920’s like W. E. B. Du Bois, Adam Clayton Powell, and Duke Ellington. You'll enjoy this beautiful sun drenched room in the Heart of Sugar Hill. Small Office along w/ Flat screen TV can also be used as a monitor along with free Wifi. Oil Burner for those who practice aroma therapy (Green Tea is awesome). Brand New Full size memory foam mattress on wooden platform frame along with two twin size firm pillows (Mattress and pillows come equipped with zippered Vinyl covers). Custom wooden blinds and a full length mirror. Enjoy a full size bathroom w/ two dual shower heads. Amenities include washer & dryer in the lower level small fee, private fridge and microwave. Your room comes with a set of keys to lock up your personal belongings and the freedom to come and go as you please. The neighborhood is diverse and close proximity to everything you'll need from supermarkets, gyms, cafes and restaurants. Were located in the center of two parks with olympic size pool, race track, tennis courts, skating rink, basketball court and picnic area overlooking the hudson river. You can literally roll out of bed to 4 major subway lines just two short blocks away that will take you throughout all the boroughs of New York City. You'll be in heart Times square 42nd street in 10mins or less. I've lived in Sugar Hill for over 5 years and I love it. Out of all the boroughs in NYC this is by far the best, your in the center of it all. I feel safe and able to go on my midnight bike rides with friends along the hudson river. Coming home late nights from the city is a quick commute or a cheap cab ride. Theres still tons of mom and pop shop shops and the spirit of all the jazz legends live on in this growing flourishing neighborhood. Come explore what Harlem has to offer. Neighborhood:2 Short blocks away from major train station 145th street. COZY RUSTIC APARTMENT - BUSHWICK
Before booking, please send us a message so we can get to know you!

We've got an extra room in our loft while I'm away. The loft itself is located off the Jefferson L stop in Bushwick. The area is up-and-coming with lots of bars, coffee shops and restaurants already in the area, and more popping up all the time. There is a large living room/open-kitchen with one wall made entirely of windows. The entire place gets a lot of light which is amazing. The loft is only about 20 minutes away from Manhattan, and about 15 minutes from Williamsburg. As for parking, there's street parking available, and it's relatively easy to get a parking spot on any given day. I know what people say about Bushwick, but in the north part of Bushwick, it's very safe, and super convenient to get around.

We've got an extra room in our loft that we use for guests. The loft itself is located off the Jefferson L stop in Bushwick. The room is an 7'-2" x 7'-9" (7'-0" tall ceiling) room with a lofted sleeping area that measures 5'-6" x 7'-9" giving you a total of 99 square feet of living space. In it there is a desk, a small bureau, a laundry basket, a rack for hanging clothes, and a small ladder to climb up to the sleeping area. Up in the sleeping area, you'll find a place to plug in whatever you need to charge (there's power underneath the loft as well), and a long rectangular panel that opens out into the kitchen/common area.

You'll get free wifi, and there will be a TV, although we haven't decided if there will be cable TV or not. But why watch TV when you're visiting? Better to get out and go experience the town! You'll get clean sheets, a clean towel (no need to bring any of that on your own) a clean bathroom and living space, and you can look forward to at least one home-cooked dinner from one, two or all of the roommates! There will be space in the fridge for you if you need it, as well as your own space on the shelf in the bathroom. You'll also have use of a road bike if you would like to free of charge! We're all pretty excited about being able to host lots of people, and entertain as well.

We LOVE to get to know our guests! We even provide a home-cooked meal! We'll give you all the information you need, as well as grab a drink or coffee if we have the time.

We try to make sure our guests are comfortable, and try to be available to them for any questions. Want us to take you to our favorite bar, or burger restaurant? No problem! Want some more time to yourself to explore and discover the city? That's cool too! We're putting together a notebook of our recommendations for the city, which we would love it if you added an entry to as well!

We're all working professionals. Artists of all kinds, but don't get the wrong idea about us. We're serious about work, and cleanliness, about travel, and eating well, and having an all around good time.

We welcome people from all over the world! We also speak a bit of German, Spanish and Korean and would love the opportunity to learn other languages.

House Rules:

No shoes in the apartment:
Please don't wear shoes in the apartment. We try very hard to keep the entire place clean. When you walk through the door, please take your shoes off.

Clean up after yourself:
Similar to the above rule, we really try to keep the apartment clean. The people who stay with us should be willing to clean up after themselves. We're not maids, and not a personal cleaning service. We all make a mess from time to time, but then we do our best to clean up after ourselves. You should too.

Try to be courteous to us and to the neighbors:
When staying with us, you'll find that our neighbors are all super-friendly, and we'd like to keep it that way. The building is a fantastic mixture of quiet and upbeat. When we first moved into the apartment, we met 16 people in the course of the first two days! We want to make sure that we're courteous to all of our neighbors and respect them, the way we expect to be respected. That means incredibly loud music after hours, ESPECIALLY on weeknights. If you get back late, try to be relatively quiet so as not to disturb the neighbors, and if we're sleeping, try not to wake us up as well! Don't feel like you have to creep around like a mouse, and don't feel like you can't get up to get that glass of water you might need. Just try to be respectful. We'll do the same for you.

No smoking in the apartment:
I think this can be left further unexplained. If you need to smoke, unfortunately the roof is no longer accessible, but you can walk down the hallway and smoke out one of the windows in one of the staircases (one of them has fantastic Manhattan views!), or walk down to the sidewalk. It's really not that far.

No pets in the apartment:
While we love animals, please don't bring your pet to stay with us! Of course service animals (assistance for the blind, etc.) are an exception.

Lock both top and bottom locks:
When you leave the apartment, even if for only to run to a nearby store (leave the building, not just for a smoke), we ask that you lock both the lock on the handle and the deadbolt. It's just our habit, and we ask that you maintain it as well.

Have fun!
You're on vacation! You're visiting New York! Get out, enjoy the city! Have fun while you're here. We'll try to take the hassle out of where you're spending your nights. You get out and try to have a good time.
