Why stay in an overpriced cookie-cutter hotel room in a so-called boutique hotel when you can live the life: 'la vie boheme'? Enjoy this one-of-a-kind 650-sq.ft. studio outfitted with all the modern conveniences, steps from the vibrant life of the …

Fabulous. Just as advertised. Neighborhood is great and the appartment is located well. Really enjoyed our stay.
My girlfriend and I stayed in this apartment during our 8 day vacation in NYC and I must say that we were floored by the cleanliness, general layout and all the amenities of this apt. The location is key here, the surrounding neighborhood (East Village) has so much to offer as far as nightlife, dining and cool/funky shops. Kudos to Thom, Luz and Ricardo for making this apt such a wonderful place to stay. We will be staying here again on our next visit and will be recommending it to all of our friends and family. Good work guys!
This was my first visit to New York, Having such an amazing place to come "home" to made it all the more wonderful...Clean, comfortable, spacious and well stocked with the essentials, the full size bathroom was unexpected and greatly appreciated. Having a record player was as a truly appreciated bonus for our down time. The door to the street was nice too. Being located it where is made it very easy to get around all the places we wanted to visit the apartment is really well lit with the wall of opaque windows making it bright and airy. And it was a pleasure to meet Thom also, would most certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.
We (a couple) spent three weeks in the apartment on what seems to be becoming an annual visit to New York from the UK. We'd previously stayed elsewhere, but this was by far the best place we've used. The studio is very clean and well appointed, with plenty of space. Thom and Luz go out of their way to help, and show great attention to detail. The location was superb for us, residential with local restaurants rather than touristy. We like East Village itself, it's easy to get out to museums and galleries, Williamsburg is particularly accessible on the L-train, and there's the East River embankment for running, walking or just sitting. Local restaurants are great: we particularly recommend Northern Spy on 12th between A and B, just five minutes walk away - though you may want to take your ear-plugs.
This is my second stay in this terrific apartment--great space, nice layout, well stocked, comfortable, close to stores, restaurants, and bus and subway. I'll definitely be going back.
Lovely welcome, excellent location, totally recommended. I dig walking so the East Village was perfect for me, was able to walk everywhere, Central Park, Brooklyn, Times Square, Blue Note, Hotel Chantelle, many, many cocktail bars, pizza places, record (vinyl) shops in the East Village.
This is an amazing apartment in a cool and trendy area of New York! The living space is huge with all mod cons (and a quirky old record player with some vinyl!) The area has lots of bars, cafes and restaurants and the apartment is only a few blocks away from the subway. Thom, the owner, was absolutely fantastic, as I arrived just after Hurricane Sandy and the area had been flooded and the electricity was down. He could not have been more helpful and did everything possible to make my stay as comfortable as possible. He provided lots of information on all the local amenities and came to greet us personally which was a lovely, personal touch.
I have to say that the pictures really dont do this apartment justice, it's vast on the inside and decorated extremely tastefuly. NYC is a great town to explore but it was great to know that you would be going back to, or waking up in, such a nice home away from home. The location couldn't be better, within hopping distance of the bus lines and it's certainly withing walking distance of subway stops. But it's also very close to some of the best bars and restaurants in the city, and some of those are the best in the world. Thom was the perfect host, I've never stayed anywhere where the host has been so helpful. He was able to help with any questions or suggestions and obviously treats this as a labour of love rather than just a business. I'm certainly done with hotels and next time I return to NYC, Thom's apartment will be my very first choice.
We were lucky enough to come back to New York for a second time this year and stay in this fantastic apartment again. It was just like coming back home again - far better than staying in a hotel. Having a great apartment to come back to after a busy day was great and such a fabulous time of year to visit. Thom was again very helpful especially accommodating our slight change of arrival date and it was really nice to get the opportunity to meet him during this visit. We are looking forward to being able to return to our NY home again soon!
Our stay in this studio was great. It was much larger than we expected, exceptionally spacious bathroom - which worked well for our family of 4 and others who visited us for Thanksgiving. And it was far quieter than we expected. Very clean, all the necessary conveniences (we managed to make Thanksgiving dinner!). Location was convenient. We took a walk to Tompkins Square Park - the weather was so mild. We would strongly recommend this rental over a traditional hotel - much more room so you can cook and entertain.
This was the first time I booked a listing on VRBO so far away from our home, and I was a little nervous. Thom and Luz made this the easiest and smoothest rental I have ever made. There was excellent communication by email, with clear arrival/check-in instructions and suggestions for nearby restaurants we might enjoy. On previous visits to NYC we have stayed in hotels, but this time we wanted to stay somewhere with a little local character. This was perfect for us. The loft was certainly huge by NYC hotel standards and it had all the comforts of home. The bathroom was large with plenty of towels and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. It was charming and inviting. I loved listening to the records and browsing through the books Thom had made available for his guests' use. Our visit was cut short by hurricane Sandy, but I hope to return soon, with friends, and enjoy all the East Village has to offer.
