New York City
Enjoy a Bed-stuy, Brooklyn cultural experience at your home-away-from-home in this non-smoking, spacious, sunlit, modernized brownstone apartment. Amenities include a captivating view of Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines; a large bedroom with 2 doub …
I'm very clean and picky, and this apartment met my expectations. I rely on others reviewers, and as other have mentioned the apartment is very clean.
We were a party of 4, and we were very comfortable in the apartment. The living room has a sofa bead that even though we didn't use it, 6 people can stay in this apartment perfectly.
The kitchen has everything you need, and Jean (owner) was really nice and left us coffee for us to make.
Jean was really nice, she even called us during our stay to make sure that we were satisfied with the apartment. She also was really understanding, because we had issues with our flight and she waited with a smile for us after midnight That was really a nice gesture, thank you again Jean.
I won't deny I was skeptical about renting an apartment in NYC, specially Brooklyn. But Brooklyn has changed. Yes, there are certain areas that you must be careful, but the same happens in Harlem, Manhattan and Bronx.
The apartment is really close to the C train in Rockaway, and takes you in less than 25 mins to the main attractions in NYC such as Battery Park, Time Square, and so forth.
As I mentioned previously you should be careful in some areas of Brooklyn that you might be at risk. So when you're heading back from downtown, for example Time Square, leave the station in the correct street, which will be your right when you get out of the train. The first night we walked out to the left exit, and we got lost and it was scary. But if you walk out in the right exit there's nothing you should be scared about because the apartment is really close. The second night we paid attention and in less than 3 mins we were at the apartment.
I recommend this apartment to young people and families with big kids, because this a 3rd floor apartment and normally the stairs in NYC have slope angle of approximately 70-80 degrees. BUT my mom is 63 years old and nothing happened to her.
In conclusion, I totally recommend this apartment. Not only the apartment is even better than what is described, but also the owner. You'll def feel like you were staying in a hotel.
Jean was very accommodating. She e-mailed the week of our arrival and was able to meet us earlier than official check-in time! She had bottled water waiting for us too! The apartment is recently renovated, clean, and plenty spacious for 2 or 4. Full kitchen is also a great feature with all the kitchen tools, dishes necessary. 2 large TVs with full cable were great for unwinding after full, active days exploring NYC. The subway situation: awesome that it's only half a block from the Rockaway station; unfortunately only the C train stops there so it does lengthen the journey from Manhattan even if you switch to the A train. But then again, here you get much more space at a fraction of Manhattan prices so it's a trade-off that worked for us. The Chauncey station to the north is 10 min walk and a great alternative to be able to get to other places like Williamsburg. The neighborhood is "up and coming" so to stay here you should be comfortable staying places off the beaten tourist path--which my wife and I are. We never felt unsafe, but we are experienced living in a diversity of urban environments.
Overall, this place is a great value, and Jean does a great job hosting! Thank you!
The property was everything I expected and more. Jean was extremely easy to work with and was always prompt in responding to my emails. The location was great as it was just minutes to the subway. I would definitely recommend staying here.
This apartment looks even better than pictures listed on the website. It was very clean, and had everything you needed.
and is very close by supermarkets.
It is private, and the location is great, just a couple minutes walk from the metro.
The owner, Jean is very nice, open, and helpful.
I recommend this property for anyone
Great hospitality, everything was exactly as explained on the website! Very clean and the family was very welcoming. It was our first time in New York and it felt just like home. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Brooklyn.
Jean was always nice with me, she answered all the phone calls I did to her. The apartment it's comfortable and everything it's clean for sure I will come back again on my next trip to NYC, also it looks so much better in real than in photos and the best thing was that the subway is near from there :)
Jean was very pleasant. The place was clean and close to the subway. I enjoyed my stay in the apartment and I will book again.
I stayed there this Summer, my first time in New York, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED it! The house is very nice, just like it looks in the pictures. It's very clean Sharlene was great about the check-in & out! Everything worked perfectly, the AC's were great because of the heat there. The subway station is a few steps away, the neighborhood is quiet & you can actually see the city from the living room window. I loved this place, made my trip much more enjoyable! Definitely would stay here again! Thanks Sharlene! :)
Thank you Charlene for your warm welcome. She was very helpfull. The subway is a 2 minutes walk. In about 20 minutes you are in Manhattan. Supermarket nearby. Appartement is big enough for 4 people. Everything you needed is in the appartment. It was a very nice place to stay. We had a wonderfull time in New York!!! When we come back to New York we rent this appartment again!
Our sincere appreciation to you; staying here was an integral part of the success of our first visit to NYC. Indeed, the apt did live up to expectations; the pictures really do accurately describe it. The amenities were plentiful. The subway station really is a 2 minute walk and a very convenient 20 min. ride to Manhattan. The nice and quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the city really allowed us to unwind at the end of the day, and rest up to do it all again the next day! And you were a terrific hostess to us! Making sure we were settled in properly, and then taking us around to get groceries afterwards – you really gave us terrific customer service! You are a gem Charlene. Thank you again!
This was a comfortable, clean flat. Everything was exactly the same as the photos describe. Sharlene is a friendly women and helpted us immediately when we had questions. The subway is very close and it is a silent place.
There are some shops (you cannot say supermarket) quiete close to this adress but I did´t like them. All in all we enjoyed staying there. Thank you, Sharlene!
This was a nice place! I highly recommend it! The apartment was very clean and organized. It's also very close to the train stop, which is convenient. Will definitely becoming back! Sharlene is a sweet host too.
So we stayed for a couple of days the apartment was clean and exactly like the pictures.Sharlene was so nice and the neighborhood was great .I will definitly rent this again.
Thank you so much !!!!
I stayed here for 3 nights. Sharlene was very accommodating regarding check-in time, which was very helpful. The apartment couldn't have been in a better location: nice and quiet neighbourhood, short walk from the subway lines, shops, restaurants, pharmacy, etc. About 15 minutes to Manhattan and also a 20-35$ cab ride to Manhattan, which was great. The apartment is roomy, the bed was very comfortable, the AC worked perfectly well, and the kitchen seemed to have everything you may need. I would definitely stay there again!
I requested a last minute check-in, and host sharlene was very accommodating, making the process quick, and easy.:) When I checked in she welcomed me and told me to call her if I need anything, and that she lives very close by.
The rental was lovely, and just as seen in the pics. All AC, worked properly and very convienent since the weather was blazing hott! And the kitchen was equipped adequately making it very easy to cook a nice meal while relaxing at home away from home. Also, the beds were really comfortable, luxury plush, and the flat screen tv in both the bedroom and living room were quite entertaining.
This is definitely an A+ rental, highly recommended, close to subway just around the block, deli's are all walking distance around the corner, and area in general is safe. I will surely stay again, thank you so much sharlene,
you are a sweetheart, and this rental is a charm.
