i stayed here with my bf for three nights and it was terrible.the whole house is dirty.the washroom has not been cleaned for ages.the wifi did not work the first two days.also it was very noisy the first night so we could not sleep.HOT water was available only the first day.then there was only cold.we saw the host only when checking in.I strongly do not recommend staying here.
We stayed there for 4 nights. Amelia was very nice, she allowed us for early check in. The room was clean and tidy equipped with refrigerator, microwave, tv cable, and towel as per its description. The house located in very strategic and safe area in Queen. You can easily find lot of restaurants (Mexico, Thai, Chinese, Malaysia, etc) and convenient store nearby. Subway station is only 5 minutes walk, and that connected to Manhattan. This homestay is highly recommended.
I want to say that my stay at this location was great!! The room was very clean and spacious, the bathroom was very clean and the hosts were very nice! I would certainly and probably will stay here again and I would recommend it to my family and or friends. There is everything you need within 5 minutes. The subway stop is just at the corner what more could you ask for!

Amelia was a very helpful host, arranged a very early check in and a cab to the airport as I was flying out early. The room was clean and tidy. It is a 30 second walk from the R line metro station, which takes you straight to Times Square. It is value for money for the price you pay. Like a previous reviewer said the Thai restaurant in the corner is good.

I was comfortable after I got over the fact that I was sleeping in another bed. I would stay here again. The area is okay and the food at the little mexican resturant on the corner was delightful.

This is a good place. The room I had was simple but sufficient. The hosts are lovely, helpful and generous. The Elmhurst Ave subway is just steps away and the area is a really safe and authentic part of NY. Try the little Thai restaurant just across Elmhurst.

      Comfortable Central Park North Room
Our Apt is located in the best part of Harlem (the beginning on one 10th and seventh Ave right across from Central Park North -so very safe).

You are absolutely welcome to make yourselves at home by cooking, lounging out to watch the Apple TV/Netflix for a movie night in the living room, and using the washing machine/dryer for your clothes. I am happy to show you the grocery stores and anything else you need during your stay!

Definitely feel free to interact with us as much as possible, we love people and want you to feel as though you are with family!

You should also know that there are a plethora of public transportation here as we live between two very popular public trains stations: the 2 and 3 trains on lenox avenue, otherwise known as Central Park North of 1 ten st (our street) and the B and C trains on eighth Ave, otherwise known as CPW (Central Park West).

There are also all the major bus lines: the M2, the M3, and the M4 that stop right in from of the complex going both downtown (to all the shopping and museums) and uptown (to cool new restaurants and hangouts in Harlem). So if you take a look on the map of this listing you will see we are located between Central Park North and Central Park West so lots of families live here and it's a friendly area.

As for main attractions, we are within a 15 mins public transportation distance from all. You can take any of the bus to the Guggenheim, The Met, Moma (in that particular order base don stops) and if you walk to CPW where the B and C line stops, you can take the M10 to the Natural History Museum -I am happy to give you tips on what to do in my lovely city!

      HELPFUL INFO FOR ARRIVING GUEST:
      Getting to our Home:
      From JFK-
1.)A taxi is a flat fee of $45 from JFK to anywhere.

2.) Super Shuttle which will be $23 for the first person and $10 for each additional person in your party.

3.)The final method (the cheapest but the most exhausting) is the subway.
You can take the A train from JFK to 59th street Columbus Circle and then transfer to the 2 or 3 express train taking that to 116th street stop. To take the subway you must first purchase a tram ticket at the airport for $5 and then a metro card for the subway which is $2.25 per ride.

The Fastest method will be a cab which will take about 30-45 minutes.
Other modes will take about 1-2 hours.

      From Laguardia:
1.)Taxi Cab- will cost approximately $30 (which includes tax, toll and tip)
      [30minutes]

2.)The M60 bus will pick you up outside of baggage claim and drop you off at 125 street and Lenox.
Be sure you have EXACT change of $2.25.
      [1 hour]

I advise my guests to purchase an unlimited ride metro card, as this will be the most cost-effective method of transportation.
Unlimited MetroCard give you unlimited ride of New York City Subway, Buses.
