This location was perfect and the apartment was so spacious and well-equipped. The host was very accomodating and responsive. Staying in the Village is a great way to visit New York. I will definitely book this place again.
We stayed @ IRIS#1 Location location location. The apartment was max 2 mins from a metro station (10-15mins ride either to Times Square or Fin. district). The neighbourhood itself was nice least to say: a lot of bars around, coffee shops, diners (one across the street), etc. And it's "green" - I mean a lot of trees which is always nice. The apartment itself is in the "basement" (though it had its own basement) and very dark windows wise: only two of them. The beds were OK for sleeping, clean sheets provided, though rooms could have been cleaner and better ventilated (it had a "funny" smell, the one I get when I visit my grandma's. But I guess that's because of the building's age and basement - we got used to it and sometimes even joked about it). Apartment had a fridge, oven, etc. but we didn't use any of appliances (except for AC unit, of course - not so much it was hot/humid as to get some "fresh air"). Bathroom was tiny. On arrival we were met by a nice guy (owner's friend or smth). They had some problems w/ electricity that night but the next morning they fixed it. Overall, i would give it 7/10 if you are like us: sleeping over and then spending all the time in the city. For any other kind of travellers 5/10 at most. As I said, it is all about the location (which is PERFECT) and not so much about the apartment itself (which was OK for sleeping and using the facilities in the morn or eve).
