HELLS KITCHEN room 1

    New York City

    Description

Centrally located between the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey which has bus lines through out North America and Penn Station which has trains throughout North America. Very close to Times Square say 7 blocks and midtown west of manhattan, I have 2 rooms available which include Wifi and A/C. The place is for the budget traveler, very easy going and laid back in the apartment. The building was built in 1920 so you live and feel that time period when you stay. Also the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING is 3 blocks away and the JACOB JAVITS CENTER IS 2 blocks away. Macys the WORLDS LARGEST STORE is 1block away. No smoking allowed in the apt

What a great rental and price! Great location for sightseeing, eating and catching the subway. Good communication from the owner. Communication was key as I had trouble communicating with the owner on a different listing. This was the best deal I could find and I would definately stay here again!

Location is perfect, very near subway lines and walking distance to many sights. Near Penn Station and Port Authority, so well served by bus companies as well. Host is nice. Apt is very small and at 5th floor (no elevator). Price is very good consider the location and the average hotel fares in NY. I would suggest this accommodation for tourism, especially short (less than one week).

Good place to stay for cheap in a share appartment. Well situated in Mahannatan, Would have been better with AC in the room

Nice place. The host is very convenient (I was allowed to stay longer because of my traveling schedule. I would definitely recommend this place.

The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the host was a pleasant guy to do business with. In town with an agenda that kept me busy during the day, I really just needed a safe and quiet place to sleep at night. This room fit the bill, and was conveniently located to restaurants, shops, and public transportation for easy access to the city. All in all, a positive experience.

the location of the apartment is absolutely awesome! the price is great but you don't have to expect too much of it! small, not the latest equipment, uncomfortable bed.. if you want to do a lots of sight seeing it is the perfect apartment.. the metro station penn street is only 100 meters away and the host is nice! so, if I want to go to NYC next time for 3 or 4 days i will go there again.. but if I want to stay for longer i will choose a different one..

The host is a nice guy and the location is very convenient, especially if arriving at Penn station. The apartment is old but has potential. However, the host is somewhat of a hoarder, so there is no living space besides the room. There are two rooms that he rents out for 100$, we booked room 1 but got put up in the smaller room 2. For what you get they are both overpriced even for this location in New York City. Don't expect to do anything but sleep in the apartment. So far it doesn't sound very promising, but we had a bizarrely positive experience. I am hesitant to give it a thumbs down but I don't really have high standards after having done a lot of backpacking in third-world countries...

I did not stay at that location, but in another one by this host. I only saw him when I moved in, he is very nice and the timing was perfect. The apartment was clean, so were the sheets and towels. It is safe to stay here. In the other room of the apartment another guest stayed, I got along with him very good and got some tips from him. My flight left in the evening, so I left late in the afternoon, that was no problem. I just gave the key back to the concierge.

The room was over booked. We did not stay there as he transfered us into another guest. I know he didn't want to cancel on us but managing guest expectations is key. You should have informed us before hand that we would have been transfered to a room 10 blocks lower. As a first experience on roomorama, it was not the best feeling and I hardly trust this method moving forward.

This host is a rip-off merchant. He said there would be two beds; there were not. There was no toilet paper; he later told us were supposed to use the roll of industrial hand towels on the "bed" were supposed to be used as toilet paper. There was no furniture in the room on which to place anything or store clothes. We were expected to clean the bathtub and bathroom floor after each use. Refund: sent with a short-term cheque I could not cash in time. When asked to resend the refund he does not answer emails and pretended he was someone else when he (only once) answered his phone.
