A lovely room for a longer stay

    New York City

    Description

    (Note: When you contact me, kindly include info about yourself, purpose of your stay, and the length of your stay. Thanks.)

I'd welcome non-smoking, no pet, person to share who can stay preferably a minimum of a 1~3 months from July 4, 2014 in the lovely room I have in my apartment. The room is fully-furnished, airy, sunny, spacious (11x19), energy-filled and private with a lovely view of Manhattan skyline up from UN, Chrysler, and Citicorp buildings; ideal for someone doing internship, language training, long-term traveling, schooling, or on a business trip. The room has all the essentials you may need for your stay: wi-fi (bring your own laptop with wireless function), queen size bed with comfy Dixie foam mattress (a comforter and 2 sets of linen can be loaned), CD/DVD player with a 17" monitor with cable TV, armchair, 2 desks, piano, well-sized closet w lots of hangers and 5-drawer chest, plants, lamps, piano, iron, iron board, hair dryer.

A full access to kitchen facilities can be provided (pots n pans, toaster, drip n Fresh press coffee machines, microwave, stove n oven, rice cooker, water filter, dishes, bowls, glasses, cutlery, one-time welcome-package including various brand of organic coffee and tea on check-in).

Though it is a shared situation, the room offers a great privacy; the layout of the apartment makes the kitchen and the bathroom exclusively private to the occupant of the room (tucked in the south-western corner); you can freely in and out of the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom without ever bothering me or even seeing me who's working in the living room. I'm often away from my apartment due to personal /professional reasons, and seldom stay in the evenings.

My apartment is located in the Sunnyside Garden vicinity, 3 to 6 stops to mid-Manhattan, 2-minute walk to subway/bus stations (within 1.5 blocks); many people who stayed have been amazed how close Sunnyside is to be and around Manhattan, a truly central location, up and running neighborhood. Right off the NYC's major boulevard (Queens Blvd.), here you have both access to vibrant city life (mushrooming ethnic restaurants, bars, Irish pubs, cafes, etc.) and recess to country-like calm and relaxed environment.

Please do not hesitate to send my way any questions you may have.

I look forward to hosting you soon!

myung

- — - More info on LOCATION:

-near Sunnyside Historic Garden District, Spanich Thalia Theatre known for tango performance, The Socrates Park, and The Noguchi Museum; American Museum of Moving Images, major film stuidos such as Kaufman Astoria Studio and Silvercup within walking distance;

-the emerging star fusion restaurant "Salt and Fat" is within a stone's throw; you can have a Sunday brunch in the garden patio at "Quaint" a la American cuisine starting from 11 a.m. on 46th St., and Skillman Ave., Asia Bistro for delicious susi, Ariba Ariba for Mexican food and what not.

-easy connection to both JFK and La Guardia Airports

-Olympic size swimming pool, tennis court, gyms (i.e., New York Sports Club), organic stores, farmer's market, diverse ethnic restaurants, coin laundries, all within walking distance.

Nate Silver called this super safe, clean, quiet, airy, lively, and cosmopolitan neighborhood a "hidden jewel" of the city. Sunnyside was ranked third in his "Most Livable Neighborhoods in New York: a quantitative index of the 50 most satisfying places to live.

      Our room was fantastic - large,neat,clean and quiet with a lovely view (as promised) with room for sitting at our computer (wireless internet was essential for us) as well as lazing on the couch. The bed was extremely comfortable (very important). The kitchen was well equipped and cosy. The shower nice and strong with lovely hot water. The apartment was conveniently close to the subway (as promised). Myung was a wonderful host welcoming us with some organic breakfast imtems including museli and yummy teas and coffees. She was also a warm engaging person available for travel tips and other queries but respectful of our space. So we highly recommend this stay and would definitely rebook for our next NY trip Rosemary and George

      Excellent place to stay. Myung Hee is a great host and the place is very close to everything you are going to need. Sunnyside is great for escaping the hustle and bustle of Manhattan while also being so close. The view is beautiful as well, would stay here again definitely.
