Great house, very spacious and perfect for three couples. It's about a 10-15 minute cab ride to the French Quarter. It's in a good neighborhood and there are a lot of great restaurants on Magazine street. We often used the trolley to get around which was very inexpensive and just a 5-7 minute walk from the house. Marco was very easy to work with and available to answer any questions we had.
My family & I love this house! It has such a warmth and great decor. It has everything you need to feel at home (kitchen fully stocked, blankets, etc). The bedrooms are a great size - sleeps 7 very comfortably. It's in a great location to walk to the St. Charles streetcar line, on the way you can see so many wonderful old style houses that are so beautiful. It's located close to huge grocery named Rauses. We found there was a mama cat with her three kittens living under the house, so adorable! If I could have coaxed them to trust me I would have taken them home. It has a nice backyard with a high fence- privacy wall. It's nice to sit outside around the table -so relaxing. It's a great house and a wonderful place to stay, in the most awesome city in America!
I definitely recommend staying at this house. My family and I were in town for a wedding and really enjoyed this house during our stay. We had 6 adults, 1 child, and 1 pet. There aren't that many house rentals in NOLA that are pet friendly so this was a pleasant delight. The house looks even better in person and is very spacious. It is located in the Garden District and only 3 blocks away from Magazine Street which has several restaurants, shops, and a grocery store (Breaux Market). The surrounding area doesn't have many paved sidewalks so it's not the greatest place for a stroll but it is definitely doable. We were able to walk to St. Charles and catch the streetcar to the French Quarter. We had 2 cars and were able to use the gated parking and easily park the other car in front of the house. There was one faulty chair in the dining area that collapsed while one of us was sitting on it, but the maid service handled this professionally and without incident. This is a very clean, comfortable, and more economical choice rather than staying at a hotel. Marco, the owner, answered all my questions before our visit and was very responsive.
Here are a few tiny suggestions for this house:
- Stronger water pressure for the guest bathroom shower
- Have a full length mirror in the guest bedroom.
- Have an additional key. (The lock-box for the key was very convenient but I would've liked an additional key for my other family members to make it even more convenient.)
- Have travel sized bath soap or shower gel in the bathrooms for guests to use.
Other than these minor suggestions, my family and I really enjoyed our stay at this house and definitely recommend it!
This home is beautiful. We had all of the information we needed ahead of time for our stay... Marco was out of town, but we had a local contact that kept us informed and allowed us an early check-in. The lock box was easy to use and made it simple for us to come and go at different times without having to coordinate a key for the group. All 3 bedrooms are very nice with comfortable beds and we loved to enjoy our morning coffee in the beautiful backyard. The living space is big and nice. The Magazine street neighborhood is such a blast - amazing restaurants, bars and shopping just a few short blocks from the house. We could walk to the street car or easily hail a cab on Magazine.
I recommend this house to a group of friends or a few couples without hesitation.
We had an amazing stay! From booking the reservation to arrival to departure, everything was perfect and effortless, making our vacation so relaxing. The host was extremely quick to respond to any questions during the process and we had no problems at all! This property is very well maintained and in a perfect location to enjoy the French Quarter (just a short cab ride away), Magazine Street shops and restaurants (a short walk), and the beautiful Garden District/Uptown. The house is spacious and clean, and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
Overall, our stay at this rental home was great! It's just a few blocks away from Magazine Street, and very close to the St. Charles streetcar line. We had a group of 4 people, and the house provided plenty of space. We did have two complaints: 1) The house could have been a lot cleaner (showers/tubs, kitchen, appliances). We actually scrubbed the shower ourselves because it obviously had not received a deep clean in a while. Give this house a deep clean, and I'd rate it as excellent. 2) The mattress in the master bedroom is very uncomfortable. (Okay...I'm picky!) This wasn't a problem for us, as we only had 2 couples and just used the other 2 bedrooms, but it may be a consideration for groups who need 3 beds.
Despite these two complaints, I'd definitely rent this house again and would definitely recommend it. We had a great time staying there, and we loved the convenient location. We also loved the convenience of having a washer/dryer. What's more, Marco was very easy to work with and was very responsive every time I contacted him.
The description and photos of this property do not do it justice. The house comfortably accomodated 8 adults and the location is great. The only time we moved the car was to go to the supermarket (which was less than a 5 minute drive). The neighborhood where the property is located is quiet (at times it felt as though we were the loudest on the block), but it is so close to all the attractions on Magazine St., and a 20 minute bus ride to Bourbon St. There are a lot of homes being rebuilt in the neighborhood and it will be interesting to see how it will look in another 5 years because it really is a great area to stay in.
Throughout the entire process the owner, Marco, was very helpful and responsive, and if he was not available, we had another contact, Drew, that was just as responsive. The owner made the reservation process easy and stressfree, and Drew was available to answer any of our questions during our stay (he even recommended some great places for us).
I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone, and I am positive the group I went with would also do the same. Staying there made our New Orleans vacation that much more memorable.
My family and I, including a 1 year old, stayed here and we were very pleased with our stay. Marco, the owner, was out of town but had someone from the cleaning service (Drew) on call to answer questions. Drew helped us figure out the thermostat and was prompt in answering our questions.
The house was roomy for 3 people + a baby, and could easily have slept twice as many. With the little one needing nap time, we spent quite a bit of time in the house, and it is very comfortable.
Magazine Street is close by, but we chose to walk to the huge grocery store at Tchoupitoulas and Napoleon and cook most of our meals (stove & BBQ worked out). Not far from Lafayette Cemetery #1, Audubon Zoo, and a short drive (15 min) to most other things.
Everything was just perfect. What a great location in a really cool neighborhood that looks like it is being revitalized house by house. Loved Magazine St, the vibe, the shops, the stores, the people living around there. We all do Crossfit and was so excited that there was Big Easy Crossfit just a little over a mile from your house and Crossfit NOLA near Tulane. Going to both of these boxes from the house allowed us to see more neighborhoods. We ate at Atchafalaya the first night we were there – definitely a fantastic meal and experience. We bought jazzy passes and rode the bus and streetcar. Definitely recommend the bus riding, faster and so easy and close to your house.
We were so happy to shop at the Whole Foods and get a few items for breakfast and dessert at night. I don’t mean to go on and on but we had a really fantastic time! Of course planned on spending time in the French Quarter before we got down there for our vacation. But did not expect that we would enjoy all of the other areas so much more than the French Quarter. We had Theo’s pizza one night – delicious. We had Surrey’s for brunch yesterday before we left NOLA, sat outside and was able to have our little dog with us while we ate, another wonderful experience. Had the best time at the beautiful zoo, loved the WWII Museum. The only downfall of this trip for us was that we did not have enough time?
Your house was just perfect, it gave us a totally new experience and perspective on New Orleans. We are already planning what we want to do down there next time. We will definitely be back and hope to stay at your house again. Staying there made us want to move down there and purchase a home in that area and be a part of rebuilding the city.
This house is just phenomenal! It is in a perfect location to go all over the city and get to attractions easily. And better yet to see how wonderful it is to live in New Orleans! We had 5 people staying here and had plenty of room. Everything you need is available in the kitchen, bathrooms, and house in general. Everything is so comfortable and so nice.
Magazine St is the place to be - great eating all around and so easy to get to. We purchased Jazzy Passes the first day and rode the bus and streetcar all over the place. The bus is extremely easy to catch on Magazine and so close to the house.
There are great restaraunts, grocery stores near by (loved the Whole Foods). We went to the French Quarter easily from the house but the best food we had was on Magazine or near the house. Would highly recommend this as place to stay if you want to fall in love with New Orleans. We will definitely be back!
