One Block from the French Quarter

    New Orleans

This private home is in the middle of everything. On Royal St, you are one block from the excitement of Bourbon St, and one block from the 'local's' favorite,Frenchman St. Walk to the French Market, or enjoy a carriage ride through the French Qu …

The house was beautiful. Great outdoor space as well as plenty of space inside. The home is very nicely decorated and done. We had plenty of space to accommodate 8 adults. It was also very close to the French Quarter. The owner of the property was incredibly easy to work with and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. I was very impressed. I would rent this property again for any type of future venture I had in New Orleans.
For anyone wanting the perfect rental, this is it! This is the perfect spot! It is perfectly located about a block from Frenchman St (which I highly recommend for anyone wanting a "local" vibe) and a quick walk to Bourbon. The house itself is exactly as it is described and is gorgeous, clean, and very well stocked with all the essentials. I was a little skeptical about a 2 bedroom/1 bath for 3 couples, but that worry was quickly put to rest. PLENTY OF SPACE! All of the beds are VERY comfortable! The master is HUGE and the second bedroom is spacious also. The entire house is very nicely and tastefully updated. We also loved the patio, which was the starting point for our nights in NOLA! Plenty of seating and very nicely lit! Perfect vacation rental! Jason was very prompt in all email/text responses and very helpful! I can see this being our home-away-from-home in New Orleans!
This house is so nice! The king size beds are super comfortable. There were plenty of clean linens. There is a really nice stackable washer/dryer in the house that I figured we would have to use for towels, etc... nope! There were a TON of extra clean towels in the panty! So nice. For 6 gals, we felt very safe the whole time going in and out of this house. The front door is not directly on the street which is nice. There is a locked gate that keeps people out of the courtyard area. We loved how close this house was to Frenchman Street and all the fabulous local jazz music! We just wish we would have explored Frenchman sooner! We definitely recommend going down there at night when the scene is hoppin. The landlord gave us a lot of really great tips re: places to go and see and do and restaurants to eat at. He also gave us his cell number so when we had questions throughout the weekend he was super accommodating and more than willing to give us suggestions! Overall, an incredible experience and I will definitely be calling to stay again!!! Only frustration: the house needs a full length mirror somewhere. There were 6 girls staying and we had to create a makeshift full length mirror taking the mirror off the wall from above the fireplace and setting it on the coffee table leaning against another wall. Also... the iron had some residue on it so it stuck to my clothes. So new iron and full length mirror and this place would be perfect!
Very nice rental home in good location to the French Quarter
A group of six of us stayed for four nights and had an amazing time! The house is exactly as described; nicely updated, VERY clean, well stocked with anything you could need (kitchen, bathroom, etc.) and perfectly located. We especially loved the outdoor patio space with lighting and seating for everyone. The house is perfectly located; close to both Bourbon Street (5 minutes walking) and Frenchman Street (1/2 a block). Jason was extremely easy to deal with, quick to reply to emails and always answered his phone if we needed to call. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable and fun place to stay in New Orleans.
I had rented this house for a group of friends flying into town for the wedding. We were all flying in from out of state and didn't have much experience with New Orleans or what to expect from the house and location. The location is amazing! Walking distance to the Spotted Cat and other great spots on Frenchman, and next door to a great Thai restaurant. Short walk to the French quarter (cafe du mond!), Cajuns and other spots we hit up. The house itself is well taken care of and very clean. The house was also stocked up with plenty of dishes and cooking stuff, and we made use of it making some light snacks for late night. The place also has a washer and dryer which can be great since after going somewhere like Cajun's we all wanted to get the smell of smoke out of our clothes. The place also has plenty of towels, so we never ran out, even when we had some rain soaked afternoons. Jason was great to work with, and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice spot for group.
Thanks for the great stay. This place was perfect for our party of six. Close to the action, yet private and serene. The owner was super nice and also has one of the nicest mustaches i have ever seen personally. Big Gary

Our 1854 mansion is a characteristic example of classic style houses popular in the 1850s.
The property was originally owned by the Societe Catholic e Education Religious et Letter airs, at one time the entire block was owned by the Catholic Church.

The 1100 block of Prytania was renamed Margaret Place, in honor of the 1884 marble statue of Margaret Haughery by Alexander Doyle of New York.

This was the first statue erected in the United States to honor a woman.,,Margaret Haughery who was born in Ireland in 1813 and died in N,O in 1882, after a life of sacrifice and devotion to the poor and orphans.
The lovely Margaret Square is directly across the street from the mansion.
